IODP Expedition 397T Carbonates composite report

This composite report includes data from two analyses (total carbon from Elemental analysis [CHNS], and inorganic carbon from [Coulometer]). Each row combines the CHNS and Coulometer data from measurements made on the same sample at the same time for a particular section and section offset (depth). If data do not exist for a particular expedition, the column does not appear. To identify individual samples and tests, see each separate data type (Elemental analysis and Coulometer). If the same sample was measured multiple times by any of the methods, results in the report will be combined on one line where possible. <p>This dataset contains the response data from the&nbsp;'National Open Access Monitor, Draft Report: Stakeholder Feedback' Form which was open from 16th to 30th November 2023 under the National Open Access Monitor&nbsp;Project. IODP Expedition 383 Interstitial water composite report

This composite report includes data from numerous interstitial water (IW) analyses (e.g., ICP-LIQUIDS and IONCHROM) in a variable set of columns. Each row combines the data from several tests (groups of measurements made on the same sample at the same time) for a particular IW sample. If data do not exist for a particular expedition, the column does not appear. To identify individual samples and tests, see each separate analysis (ALKALINITY, ICP-LIQUIDS, IONCHROM, SALINITY, SPEC, TITRATOR, and potentially others). Major and minor elements were determined by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrocsopy (ICP-LIQUIDS). Cations and anions were measured by ion chromatography (IONCHROM). Complex ions were measured by colorimetric measurements using a UV-VIS spectrometer (SPEC). Alkalinity and chloride was measured by titration (ALKALINITY and TITRATOR). Dissolved carbon (DC), dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) were measured by combustion in a total organic carbon (TOC) analyzer. Salinity was measured by refractometer (SALINITY). pH was measured by ion-selective electrode as part of the alkalinity procedure and is reported in the ALKALINITY analysis.

<p>Shapefiles created for the report "A Climate Resilient&nbsp;Path for Ireland&rsquo;s&nbsp;Marine Protected&nbsp;Areas Network", an addendum chapter to "Revitalising Our Seas report: Identifying<br>Areas of Interest for Marine Protected Area Designation in Irish&nbsp;Waters"</p> <p>These shapefiles summarise long-term patterns that emerge from the spatial-meta analysis of physical-biogeochemical and species distribution modelling data, providing an overview of the distribution of climate change refugia and climate change hotspots across Ireland's National Marine Planning Framework between 2026 - 2069, and across the two emissions scenarios considered in the report (RCP4.5 and RCP8.5).&nbsp;</p> <p>Filenames refer to the specific analysis each set of shapefiles belong to: Benthic habitats, benthic megafauna, pelagic habitats, pelagic megafauna and forage fish. Details of the modelling datasets used in each of these analyses, the meta-analysis method and shapefile creation can be found in Annex A1 in the report "A Climate Resilient Path for Ireland&rsquo;s Marine Protected Areas Network".</p>

Distributable, Metabolic PET Reporting of Tuberculosis

<p>Tuberculosis remains a large global disease burden for which treatment regimens are protracted and monitoring of disease activity difficult. Existing detection methods rely almost exclusively on bacterial culture from sputum which limits sampling to &nbsp;organisms on the pulmonary surface. Advances in monitoring tuberculous lesions have utilized the common glucoside [18 F]FDG, yet lack specificity to the causative pathogen Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) and so do not directly correlate with &nbsp;pathogen viability. Here we show that a close mimic that is also positron-emitting of the non-mammalian Mtb disaccharide trehalose &ndash; 2-[ 18 F]fluoro-2-deoxytrehalose ([18 F]FDT) &ndash; is a mechanism-based reporter of Mycobacteria-selective enzyme activity in vivo. Use of [18 F]FDT in the imaging of Mtb in diverse models of disease, &nbsp;including non-human primates, successfully co-opts Mtb-specific processing of trehalose to allow the specific imaging of TB-associated lesions and to monitor the effects of treatment. A pyrogen-free, direct enzyme-catalyzed process for its radiochemical synthesis allows the ready production of [18 F]FDT from the most globally-abundant organic 18F-containing molecule, [18 F]FDG. The full, pre-clinical validation of both production method and [18 F]FDT now creates a new, bacterium selective, clinical diagnostic candidate for clinical evaluation. We anticipate that this distributable technology to generate clinical-grade [18 F]FDT directly from the widelyavailable clinical reagent [18 F]FDG, without need for either custom-made radioisotope generation or specialist chemical methods and/or facilities, could now usher in global, democratized access to a TB-specific PET tracer.</p>
