PAsCAL WP6 Pilot 4 Shared Connected Transport

These two datasets were collected within the context of the PAsCAL research project between November 2021 and June 2022. Each of the surveys were dedicated to two different pilot scenarios, settings and vehicles:

Shared Connected Vehicle Fleet: An existing rental service for a vehicle fleet for employees and students of the University of Luxembourg was enhanced by adding an advances Level-2+ vehicle to the fleet. The users were already familiar with the functionality of the service (booking process, etc.) and were asked to take a realistic trip including urban areas but also a strip of highway and were invited to test the autonomous features of the vehicle (removing hands from steering wheel, automatic parking and many more). The pilot took place in the Belval area of Luxembourg;

Bus shuttle: An autonomous bus shuttle with Level-4 autonomy was piloted, which connects a train station to a business park. Participants were workers or visitors of the business park and the objective of this pilot was to observe the adequacy of the shuttle in the commuting context.

In order to analyse the answers given to the questions, it is recommended to consult also the "PAsCAL WP6 Pilots Surveys" dataset, which contains all questions and possible answers.

Data of the publication "Transport and entanglement growth in long-range random Clifford circuits"

Conservation laws can constrain entanglement dynamics in isolated quantum systems, manifest in a slowdown of higher Rényi entropies. Here, we explore this phenomenon in a class of long-range random Clifford circuits with U(1) symmetry where transport can be tuned from diffusive to superdiffusive. We unveil that the different
hydrodynamic regimes reflect themselves in the asymptotic entanglement growth according to \(S(t) \propto t^{1/z}\) where
the dynamical transport exponent z depends on the probability \(\propto r^{-\alpha}\) of gates spanning a distance r. For
sufficiently small \(\alpha\), we show that the presence of hydrodynamic modes becomes irrelevant such that S(t) behaves
similarly in circuits with and without conservation law. We explain our findings in terms of the inhibited operator
spreading in U(1)-symmetric Clifford circuits where the emerging light cones can be understood in the context
of classical Lévy flights. Our Letter sheds light on the connections between Clifford circuits and more generic
many-body quantum dynamics.

Supplementary data for the journal article "Quantifying the impact of 3D pore space morphology on diffusive mass transport in loam and sand"

Binarized cutouts (black=pore, white=soil) of 3D CT images of soil samples from loam and sand together with geometrical descriptors and diffusive properties computed on these cutouts. The geometrical descriptors include, among others, porosity, specific surface area, geodesic tortuosity, geometric tortuosity, constrictivity, mean chord length and mean of spherical contact distribution. Diffusion is quantified by the so-called M-factor which equals the ratio of the effective and intrinsic diffusivity.

This data supplements the journal article "Quantifying the impact of 3D pore space morphology on diffusive mass transport in loam and sand". Additional information can be found there.

Small, coastal temperate rainforest watersheds dominate organic carbon transport to the northeast Pacific Ocean
The northeast Pacific Coastal Temperate Rainforest (NPCTR) extending from southeast Alaska to northern California is characterized by high precipitation and large stores of recently fixed biological carbon. We show that 3.4 Tg-C yr-1 as DOC is exported from the NPCTR drainage basin to the coastal ocean. More than 56% of this riverine DOC flux originates from thousands of small (mean = 118 km2), coastal watersheds that comprise 22% of the NPCTR drainage basin. The average DOC yield from NPCTR coastal watersheds (6.20 g-C m-2 yr-1) exceeds that from Earth’s tropical regions by roughly a factor of three. The highest yields occur in small, coastal watersheds in the central NPCTR due to the balance of moderate temperature, high precipitation, and high soil organic carbon stocks. These findings indicate that DOC export from NPCTR watersheds may play an important role in regional-scale heterotrophy within near-shore marine ecosystems in the northeast Pacific. These are the datasets used in this analysis
