A Tool for Product Derivation and Semi-Automatic Deployment of Web-Based Systems
<p>This paper presents a tool for product derivation and semi-automatic deployment of web-based systems. The tool focuses on cloned webbased systems implemented using the PHP language, which are refactored to become software product lines. The paper also reports the results of a case study of using the tool in the context of a large scale web-based system. Our findings show some preliminary evidence of the benefits of the tool to reduce: (i) the time of product derivation and deployment; and (ii) the manual effort to customize existing cloned web-based systems.<br> </p>

Evaluating Elements of Web-based Data Enrichment for Pseudo-Relevance Feedback Retrieval
<p>This data archive accompanies our work, in which we analyze a pseudo-relevance retrieval method that is based on the results of web search engines. By enriching topics with text data from web search engine result pages and linked contents, we train topic-specific and cost-efficient classifiers that can be used to search test collections for relevant documents. Building up on attempts that were initially made at TREC Common Core 2018 by Grossman and Cormack, we address the questions of system performance over time considering different search engines, queries and test collections. Our experimental results show how and to which extent the considered components affect the retrieval performance. Overall, the analyzed method is robust in terms of average retrieval performance and a promising way to use web content for the data enrichment of relevance feedback methods.</p>

Research Data Services in US Higher Education: A Web-Based Inventory - Raw Data
<p>This dataset represents an inventory of research data services at 120 US colleges and universities. The data was collected using a systematic web content analysis process in late 2019. This dataset underlies the following report: Jane Radecki and Rebecca Springer, "Research Data Services in US Higher Education: A Web-Based Inventory," Ithaka S+R, Nov. 2020, <a href="https://sr.ithaka.org/publications/research-data-services-in-us-higher-education/">https://doi.org/10.18665/sr.314397</a>.</p> <p>We defined research data services as any concrete, programmatic offering intended to support researchers (including faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students) in working with data, and identified services within the following campus units: library, IT department/research computing, independent research centers and facilities, academic departments, medical school, business school, and other professional schools. We also recorded whether the institution offered local high performance computing facilities. For detailed definitions, exclusions, and data collection procedures, please see the report referenced above.</p>

User Evaluation and Metrics Analysis of a Prototype Web-based Federated Search Engine for Art and Cultural Heritage
<p>This dataset includes the quantitative data of the usage during the evaluation phase of a prototype web-based federated search engine for art and cultural heritage related content. The metrics which resulted in the dataset were in the form of a timeline of actions taken from a user (evaluator) in the course of a single session of interaction with the platform. A total of 20 different metrics were being monitored regarding the usage of the search engine, including submitting a query, a voice query, preforming a visual search, viewing a result, viewing a visual search result, updating an avatar, editing a user profile or changing user preferences, bookmarking and removing bookmarks of results and visual search results, using text to speech of all the various elements, opening the source view of a result and clicking a concept tag. All metrics included the timestamp of the event taking place and the value of the related event (e.g. the term of a search query).</p>

Web-Based Location Tracking and Navigation System
<p>The project ‘Design and Implementation of a Web-Based Location Tracking and Navigation</p> <p>System’ aims to develop a real-time tracking and navigation system that utilizes web</p> <p>technologies to provide accurate location information and directions to users. To ensure the</p> <p>safety of people, goods, and vehicles, there is a need for an innovative solution to address</p> <p>navigational difficulties. Thus, a web-based location tracking system was created that tracks</p> <p>and navigates the location of a user, vehicle, or goods. The system uses Global Positioning</p> <p>System (GPS) and Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) to track and position</p> <p>users. The tracking device, made up of an Arduino Uno R3, SIM800L module, and NEO 6M</p> <p>GPS module, continuously monitors a moving user by interfacing serially with a GSM module</p> <p>and GPS module. The GPS module provides data like longitude and latitude, while the GSM</p> <p>module sends the user's position to a remote place. The user’s position can be viewed on a</p> <p>digital map using Google Maps API. The software includes a web application with Nodejs as</p> <p>the backend server and Firebase as the database host, while the frontend is developed using</p> <p>HTML, CSS, BOOTSTRAP framework, and JavaScript with Google Maps API embedded.</p> <p>The Firebase real-time database stores all GPS data and the Google Map API displays the</p> <p>location information on a Google Map. Test and Simulation were carried out in various areas</p> <p>of Ogun State to show the project’s flexibility and ease of use, the proposed system will offer</p> <p>an efficient and reliable way of navigating unfamiliar locations and will be useful tool for both</p> <p>individual and commercial use.</p>

Questionnaire and Results for the "Gamify-IT - A Web-Based Gaming Platform for Software Engineering Education" Paper
<p>This archive contains the questions and results of our questionnaire to evaluate the prototype Gamify-IT e-learning platform. The questionnaire contains 18 questions and statements to evaluate the students' experience with the platform. We conducted the evaluation with students of our programming introductory course at the University of Stuttgart. 20 students provided their feedback. Results are anonymized.</p>
