Dataset related to "High-frequency optimally windowed chirp rheometry for rapidly evolving viscoelastic materials: Application to a crosslinking thermoset"

Knowledge of the evolution in the mechanical properties of a curing polymer matrix is of great importance in composite parts or structure
fabrication. Conventional rheometry, based on small amplitude oscillatory shear, is limited by long interrogation times. In rapidly evolving
materials, time sweeps can provide a meaningful measurement albeit at a single frequency. To overcome this constraint, we utilize a combined
frequency- and amplitude-modulated chirped strain waveform in conjunction with a homemade sliding plate piezo-operated rheometer (PZR)
and a dual-head commercial rotational rheometer (Anton Paar MCR 702) to probe the linear viscoelasticity of these time-evolving materials.
The direct controllability of the PZR, resulting from the absence of any kind of firmware and the microsecond actuator-sensor response
renders this device ideal for exploring the advantages of this technique. The high frequency capability allows us to extend the upper limits of
the accessible linear viscoelastic spectrum and, most importantly, to shorten the length of the interrogating strain signal (OWCh-PZR) to subsecond
scales, while retaining a high time-bandwidth product. This short duration ensures that the mutation number (NMu) is kept sufficiently
low, even in fast-curing resins. The method is validated via calibration tests in both instruments, and the corresponding limitations are discussed.
As a proof of concept, the technique is applied to a curing vinylester resin. The linear viscoelastic (LVE) spectrum is assessed every
20 s to monitor the rapid evolution in the time and frequency dependence of the complex modulus. Comparison of the chirp implementation,
based on parameters such as duration of the experiment, sampling frequency, and frequency range, in a commercial rotational rheometer with
the PZR provides further information on the applicability of this technique and its limitations. Finally, FTIR spectroscopy is utilized to gain
insights into the evolution of the chemical network, and the gap dependence of the evolving material properties in these heterogeneous
systems is also investigated

Dataset for Engineering multifunctional dynamic hydrogel for biomedical and tissue regenerative applications

Hydrogels have emerged in various biomedical applications, including tissue engineering and medical devices, due to their ability to imitate the natural extracellular matrix (ECM) of tissues. However, conventional static hydrogels lack the ability to dynamically respond to changes in their surroundings to withstand the robust changes of the biophysical microenvironment and to trigger on-demand functionality such as drug release and mechanical change. In contrast, multifunctional dynamic hydrogels can adapt and respond to external stimuli and have drawn great attention in recent studies. It is realized that the integration of nanomaterials into dynamic hydrogels provides numerous functionalities for a great variety of biomedical applications that cannot be achieved by conventional hydrogels. This review article provides a comprehensive overview of recent advances in designing and fabricating dynamic hydrogels for biomedical applications. We describe different types of dynamic hydrogels based on breakable and reversible covalent bonds as well as noncovalent interactions. These mechanisms are described in detail as a useful reference for designing crosslinking strategies that strongly influence the mechanical properties of the hydrogels. We also discuss the use of dynamic hydrogels and their potential benefits. This review further explores different biomedical applications of dynamic nanocomposite hydrogels, including their use in drug delivery, tissue engineering, bioadhesives, wound healing, cancer treatment, and mechanistic study, as well as multiple-scale biomedical applications. Finally, we discuss the challenges and future perspectives of dynamic hydrogels in the field of biomedical engineering, including the integration of diverse technologies.

Compilation of existing underwater PAM repositories, libraries, and applications for sound processing

Resources for passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) are continuously expanding and being developed, yet a major challenge for users is staying up-to-date and finding the best software or application for their acoustics investigation. We expand on previous efforts (Rhinehart & Nicholson, 2022; Felgate, 2023) with the aim of providing a current, comprehensive list of 1) underwater sound repositories of raw sound data without significant processing, 2) biological sound reference libraries, with species or taxa identification, and 3) sound processing tools for visualization, annotation, or analysis. This spreadsheet contains three pages, one dedicated to each of the aforementioned items, along with some descriptive information to help users identify the best resources for their needs.

This work was done to support the Global Library of Underwater Biological Sounds (GLUBS) project and funded in part by the Richard Lounsbery Foundation and from funding to SCOR WG #169 (GLUBS) provided by national committees of the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) and from a grant to SCOR from the US National Science Foundation (OCE--2140395), with support from the International Quiet Ocean Experiment.

Safety Through Visibility: Tracing Hydrogen in Colors with Highly Customizable and Flexibly Applicable Supraparticle Additives

This data publication is based on the metadata and datasets underlying the manuscript:
"Safety Through Visibility: Tracing Hydrogen in Colors with Highly Customizable and Flexibly Applicable Supraparticle Additive"

Abstract:
The flammability of H2-air mixtures demands timely detection and precise localization of H2 leakages to ensure safety and targeted maintenance measures in the anticipated hydrogen economy. Herein, H2 indicator supraparticles (SPs) are demonstrated that meet this demand by making H2 visible to the naked eye by a rapid (ir)reversible color change. Their toolbox-like manufacturing from SiO2 nanoparticles (NPs), Pt NPs, and indicator dye molecules via spray-drying allows for engineering their structure, texture, and detection performance by systematically tuning their composition. It is demonstrated that decreasing the SiO2 NP size, increasing the Pt NP concentration, and adjusting the amount of dye molecules improve the SPs’ response times. This opens up the option for multidimensional customization of their detection performance. Furthermore, the toolbox of H2 indicator SPs containing the established resazurin system is expanded to other indicator dyes, which makes a color change and reversibility of choice feasible. H2 indicator SPs meet many of the target characteristics for H2 detectors, e.g., low limit of detection, cycle stability, and high selectivity. Moreover, the SPs’ particulate nature allows for their flexible application as an additive, e.g., in coatings or clothing, which enables the detection and localization of H2 leakages in relevant application scenarios.

The data collected is from October 2023.**

This file contains information about the instruments, software, materials, chemicals, and datasets used for this study (including processed and raw data of the figures in the manuscript).

A detailed description of the dataset is given in the attached README.txt file.

Application of CoLD-CoP to Detecting Competitively and Cooperatively Binding Ligands

CompetitiveCooperative_CoLD_CoP_for_archiving.zip will unzip into a directory with two sub-directories. The directory LysozymeNAG has directories with raw data (and NMRPipe format spectra processed in the direct dimension) for DOSYs acquired with a ligands only sample, a ligands + lysozyme sample and a ligands + lysozyme + NAG (N-Acetyl-Glucosamine) sample. This directory also has the key scripts used for DOSY processing and analysis of this dataset. The directory TyrosinaseHCCA similarly has directories with raw data (and NMRPipe format spectra processed in the direct dimension) for DOSYs acquired with a ligands only sample, a ligands + (mushroom) tyrosinase sample and a ligands + tyrosinase + HCCA (4-Hydroxy-a-Cyano-Cinnamic Acid) sample. The TyrosinaseHCCA directory has not only the key scripts used for DOSY processing and analysis of this dataset, but it also has 1D proton spectra acquired on each solution used in this arm of the project.

The file das_dosy_nm.m is a customized version of the DOSY processing file used in DOSY processing instead of the dosy_nm.m file used in the DOSY Toolbox. Use of the scripts found in the directories described in the above paragraph requires das_dosy_nm.m as well as NMRPipe, the DOSY Toolbox (https://nmr.chemistry.manchester.ac.uk/?q=node/8), CoLD-CoP toolbox and Covariance Toolbox (both available via MATLAB Central File Exchange).

The file lysozyme_complexes_for_docking.zip contains lysozyme structures as minimized in various complexes as well as the ligands from those complexes. These can be used for rescoring or further re-docking, e.g., in FastDRH. DockingAndEnergyMinimization.zip contains some of the files used for docking and energy minimization of the Lysozyme-NAG, Lysozyme-Tris and Lysozyme-GlcNAC complexes.
