Data from: In situ 15N-N2O site preference and O2 concentration dynamics disclose the complexity of N2O production processes in agricultural soil
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Arable soil continues to be the dominant anthropogenic source of nitrous oxide (N<sub>2</sub>O) emissions owing to application of nitrogen (N) fertilizers </span><span>and manures across the world. Using</span><span> laboratory </span><span>and </span><em><span>in-situ</span></em><span> studies to elucidate the key factors controlling soil N<sub>2</sub>O emissions remains challenging due to the potential importance of multiple complex processes. We<em> </em>examined soil surface N<sub>2</sub>O fluxes in an arable soil, combined with<em> in-situ</em> high</span><span>-</span><span>frequency measurements of soil matrix oxygen (O<sub>2</sub>) and N<sub>2</sub>O concentrations, </span><em><span>in situ</span></em><span> <sup>15</sup>N labeling, and</span><span> N<sub>2</sub>O <sup>15</sup>N site preference (SP). The </span><em><span>in situ</span></em><span> O<sub>2</sub> concentration and further microcosm visualized spatiotemporal distribution of O<sub>2</sub> both suggested that O<sub>2</sub> dynamics were the proximal determining factor to matrix N<sub>2</sub>O concentration and fluxes due to quick O<sub>2</sub> depletion after N fertilization. Further SP analysis<em> </em>and<em> in situ</em> <sup>15</sup>N labeling experiment revealed </span><span>that the main source for N<sub>2</sub>O emissions was bacterial denitrification during the hot-wet summer with lower soil </span><span>O<sub>2</sub></span><span> concentration, while nitrification or fungal denitrification contributed about 50<span>.0</span>% to total emissions during the cold-dry winter with higher soil </span><span>O<sub>2</sub></span><span> concentration. </span><span>The robust positive correlation between O<sub>2</sub> concentration and SP values underpinned that the O<sub>2</sub> dynamics were the key factor to differentiate the composite processes of N<sub>2</sub>O production in <em>in situ</em> structured soil. Our findings deciphered the complexity of N<sub>2</sub>O production processes in real field conditions, and suggest that O<sub>2</sub> dynamics rather than stimulation of functional gene abundances play a key role in controlling soil N<sub>2</sub>O production processes in undisturbed structure soils. </span><span>Our results help to develop targeted N<sub>2</sub>O mitigation measures and to improve process models for constraining global N<sub>2</sub>O budget.</span></p>

Classification Data set: End-to-end Learning for Land Cover Classification using Irregular and Unaligned SITS by Combining Attention-Based Interpolation with Sparse Variational Gaussian Processes
<p>Classification data set (train, validation, test) from the study area based on 27 tiles on the south of the France. This dataset contains irregular and unaligned SITS with their corresponding masks. 9 different random sampling are provided. Data from: Evolutionary process of extremely twisted heteromorph ammonites from the Upper Cretaceous in Japan
<p><span>The heteromorph ammonite </span><em><span>Pravitoceras sigmoidale</span></em><span> with extremely twisted retroversal hook and its probable ancestors, </span><em><span>Didymoceras awajiense</span></em><span> and </span><em><span>D</span><span>. </span><span>morozumii</span></em><span>, occur mainly in the Upper Cretaceous Izumi and Sotoizumi groups in southwest Japan. Their morphological characteristics were investigated in this study. Morphotypes I–II were recognized in </span><em><span>D. morozumii</span></em><span>. Morphotypes III–V were recognized in </span><em><span>D. awajiense</span></em><span>. Morphotypes VI–VIII were recognized in </span><em><span>P. sigmoidale</span></em><span>. Moreover, all morphotypes were recognized in both the dextral and sinistral forms of these three species. Based on the morphological and stratigraphic relationships, it is considered that the evolutionary process of these species is divided into three steps: (1) shift from morphotypes I–II to III; (2) increase in variation from morphotypes III to III–V; and (3) shift from morphotypes III–V to VI–VIII. By comparing these morphotypes based on the 'growing tube model' belonging to the moving frame analysis, it is seen that there are no significant gaps of coiling patterns in the evolutionary processes of this lineage. Meanwhile, morphotypes III–V of </span><em><span>D. awajiense</span></em><span> have a larger morphological variation than morphotypes I–II of </span><em><span>D</span><span>. </span><span>morozumii</span></em><span><em> </em>and morphotypes VI–VIII of </span><em><span>P. sigmoidale</span></em><span>. These results, and the radiometric ages from previous studies, suggest that </span><em><span>D. awajiense</span></em><span>, with considerable variation between ancestor and descendant species, existed in a short interval. It seems that </span><em><span>P. sigmoidale</span></em><span> occurred after the continuous but rapid and drastic morphological evolution from </span><em><span>D. morozumii</span></em><span><em> </em>via<em> </em></span><em><span>D. awajiense</span></em><span>.</span></p>

Data Processing Pipeline and Products from the NANOGrav 12.5-Year Data Set: Dispersion Measure Mis-Estimation with Varying Bandwidths
<p>This Zenodo dataset contains the data processing pipeline, as well as the data products, corresponding to the scientific journal paper "NANOGrav 12.5-Year Data Set: Dispersion Measure Mis-Estimation with Varying Bandwidths". The processing pipeline is structured as follows:</p> <ol> <li>1_fit_dispersion_3terms.py reads the .tim files (containing the times-of-arrival), creates the broadband and narrowband datasets, and fits a dispersion model to both datasets using three parameters.</li> <li>2_plot_fits_differences.py creates the residual plots showing the differences in the fitted values of the parameters.</li> <li>3_autocovariance.py calculates the autocovariance function of the differences in the fitted values, and creates the corresponding plots.</li> <li>All the files starting with "plot" are convenience scripts for creating the plots presented in the paper.</li> <li>All the files starting with "sophia" are utility functions created by the authors that are used in the main pipeline.</li> <li>The folder "NANOGrav_12yv4" contains the dataset analyzed in this work.</li> <li>The folder "NG_timing_analysis" contains utility functions created by the NANOGrav collaboration that are used in the main pipeline.</li> </ol> <p>Please do not hesitate to send all your questions, concerns, or commentaries to sophia.sosa@nanograv.org</p>
