Survey of library information science graduates' readiness to create an information system in the library (using open science as an example)

<p><strong>Survey "Readiness of library information science graduates to create an information system in the library (on the example of open science)"</strong></p> <p>The research is aimed at identifying the degree of readiness of future specialists in the field of library and information science to work in new and relevant areas of library activities related to the development of information infrastructure of open science.</p> <p>The survey consists of 4 thematic blocks and contains 21 questions.</p> <p>The survey was attended by 54 students from 10 Russian universities, studying in the direction of training 51.03.06 "Library and Information Science".</p> <p>The results of this survey will serve as a basis for the development of professional development programmes on various aspects of the functioning of open science for specialists in the field of library and information activity.</p> <p><strong>Опрос &laquo;Готовность выпускников направления библиотечная информационная наука к созданию системы информирования в библиотеке (на примере открытой науки)&raquo;</strong></p> <p>Исследование направленно на выявление степени готовности будущих специалистов в области библиотечно-информационной деятельности к работе в новых и актуальных направлениях деятельности библиотек, связанных с развитием информационной инфраструктуры открытой науки.</p> <p>Опрос состоит из 4-х тематических блоков и содержит 21 вопрос.</p> <p>В опросе приняли участие 54 студента из 10 российских вузов, обучающихся по направлению подготовки 51.03.06 &laquo;Библиотечно-информационная деятельность&raquo;.</p> <p>Результаты данного опроса послужат основой разработки программ повышения квалификации по различным аспектам функционирования открытой науки для специалистов в области библиотечно-информационной деятельности.</p>

Academic Research at UNTRM: Bibliometric Analysis in Economic and Administrative Sciences

<p><span>Bibliometric analysis is crucial to assess research trends in disciplines such as economics and administrative sciences. This study aims to detail trends and developments in these areas at the Universidad Nacional Toribio Rodr&iacute;guez de Mendoza de Amazonas (UNTRM), highlighting emerging themes and influential actors. A systematic bibliometric methodology was used to understand the scientific focus of the publications of the thesis students of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the UNTRM. Scopus documents were thoroughly reviewed, using specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research followed a qualitative descriptive approach with non-experimental and longitudinal design. A total of 379 faculty theses were analyzed through December 31, 2023, using keywords such as "bibliometric analysis," "economic sciences," "management," "digital transformation," "business sustainability," and "energy efficiency." The initial search identified 786 papers, which were refined for quality assurance. Bibliometric analysis was performed with VOSviewer and Bibliometrix R, facilitating the creation of scientific maps and exploration of citation patterns. Results showed that the most researched topics include digital transformation, sustainability, energy efficiency and business innovation. Influential authors and institutions within UNTRM were identified and major research trends were mapped, highlighting emerging areas and gaps in the current literature. These findings are significant for future research as they provide a basis for exploring new directions in economics and management sciences. This bibliometric analysis not only maps research streams and scholarly collaborations at UNTRM, but also promotes a deeper understanding of the dynamics in these key areas of study.</span></p>

Community survey among science communication practitioners in Germany (2023)

<p>This dataset contains fully anonymized responses to an online survey conducted among German science communication practitioners (N = 103) concerning general science communication (formats, goals, target groups) but also focusing on the specific issue of evaluation in science communication. The survey was in the field from November 13 to December 14, 2023. Sampling was purposive, science communication practitioners were contacted via newsletters, mailing lists, at conferences and with the help of specific social media channels and hashtags. The survey consists of 24 questions, including multiple choice, Likert type questions and open ended questions. The survey is based on a survey from 2019, with partial adjustments in the instruments, to which&nbsp;<a href="../records/4608091">the dataset is also available on Zenodo</a>. It is important to note that the participants of the survey are of the same target group, but it is not the same sample.</p> <p>Questions focused on the survey participants&rsquo; conduct of science communication, most frequent formats, goals and target groups but also on their experience with science communication evaluation and their perceptions of it. A detailed description of the variables and the coding can be found in the dataset. The survey was conducted in German and it should be noted that the original data is only available in German.</p> <p>Results of the study included more detailed information on sampling were published on the website of Wissenschaft im Dialog (WiD), the organization conducting the survey and can be found in<a href="https://impactunit.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/WiD_ImpactUnit_CommunityBefragung2023.pdf"> German</a> and<a href="https://impactunit.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/WiD_ImpactUnit_CommunitySurvey2023.pdf"> English</a>.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Citizen Science Reports on Aurora Sighting and Technological Disruptions during the 10 May 2024 Geomagnetic Storm – ARCTICS Survey

<div> <div> <div> <div> <p>The geomagnetic storm that began on 10 May 2024 provided stunning auroral displays observed worldwide. This dataset contains data collected via an online survey designed and distributed by the "Auroral Research Coordination &ndash; Towards Internationalised Citizen Science" (ARCTICS) collaboration sponsored by the International Space Science Institute (ISSI) in Bern, Switzerland (see https://collab.issibern.ch/arctics/). A total of 696 observers from over 30 countries filled in the survey and reported on aurora sightings and experienced disruptions in technological systems during the superstorm.</p> <p>The dataset consists of two data files in the CSV format and a text file providing a detailed description of the data. The collected data have been anonymised and pre-processed to obtain a homogeneous data set.</p> <p>Dataset associated with the <span>egusphere-2024-2174 preprint by Grandin et al.
