Males of both Cardioglossa manengouba sp. nov. and C. oreas are the only species examined in which no mature males have third manual digits absolutely longer than those of adult females of the same species. The mean value for males of C. occidentalis is somewhat low due to the inclusion of a specimen that may not be fully mature as it exhibits only weakly developed manual digital spines and a relatively short third manual digit.
