Quality-checked, one-second cruise track of the Antarctic Circumnavigation Expedition (ACE) undertaken during the austral summer of 2016/2017.
<p><strong>Dataset abstract</strong></p> <p>The Antarctic Circumnavigation Expedition (ACE), undertaken in the austral summer of 2016/2017 recorded the cruise track using two independent geo-location instruments: one using GLobal NAvigation Satellite Systems (GLONASS; hereafter referred to as GLONASS) and another primarily using the Global Positioning System (GPS; hereafter referred to as the Trimble GPS). Daily log files were recorded in real-time from both instruments during the expedition and added to MySQL database tables. Eléments de classification traditionnelle de la faune ichtyologique à Tupua'i (Archipel des Australes, Polynésie française).
<p>Ce jeu de données est le fruit d'un travail bibliographique et d'une enquête de terrain effectuée dans le cadre du projet Haere i tai (Labex Corail). La collecte des données à Tupua'i (Tubuai) a eu lieu en décembre 2015 auprès de 12 pêcheurs de tous âges et résidants dans les différents districts de l'île. Les entretiens ont été effectués en langue tahitienne en collaboration avec Vahine Ahu'ura Rurua (CIRAP/UPF), locutrice native. A cette occasion, nous avons pu recenser les pratiques de pêche actuelles et voir en<br> quoi elles reflètent une adaptation aux conditions environnementales propres à l'île. Auprès des interlocuteurs les plus âgés et instruits des techniques de pêche traditionnelles, il nous a été possible de récolter des informations complémentaires à celles récoltées par Robert Aitken en 1922 et publiées dans son 'Ethnography of Tubuai' (Aitken, 1930).</p>
Wind envelope at 300 hPa in the Southern Hemisphere during austral summer between 1979-2020
<p>The datasets contain wind envelope data at 300 hPa from the Southern hemisphere during austral summer (December-March) between 1979-2020. The envelope was obtained using the methodology of Zimin et al 2003, retaining only the local zonal wavenumbers correspondant to the southern hemisphere transients (Trenberth 1981) using datasets of meridional wind speed at 300 hPa from ERA-5 and NCEP DOE 2 reanalysis .The resolution of both datasets is 2.5º x 2.5º with daily frequency. </p> <p>Both datasets contain a 4 dimensional array in which the first column is the day of the December-March season, such as the first day is the 1st of Decemeber and day 121 is the 31th of March. Second column indicates the season (from 1979-2020, starting at December), and the last two dimensions are the latitude and longitud coordinates.</p>
