Circulant topologies dataset

Circulant topologies with different generators count (2-10).

This is a dataset consisting of signatures of optimal circulant topologies for various parameters. Circulants are regular topologies based on the Cayley graphs of a cyclic group. This type of topologies can be described as C(n; s_1,…,s_k), where n – number of nodes, k – number of generators, and k<n, k = 2..10.

CSV files format: nodes count; graph signature; Diameter; average distance; generating time; connections count.

For citations:

Romanov, A. ADCP data collected in the Southern California Bight by SWIFT drifters as part of the ONR "Langmuir Circulation Departmental Research Initiative (LC-DRI)"

This is the public archive for ADCP data collected with SWIFT drifters during the 'Langmuir Circulation' Office of Naval Research Departmental Research Initiative (LC-DRI) field experiment, conducted between March 19th and April 6th, 2017 in the Southern California Bight 40 km west of Catalina Island. SWIFTs were deployed and recovered from the R/V R.G. Sproul during cruise SP1709 (Cruise DOI: 10.7284/907464). SWIFTs were deployed during storms with wind speeds up to 20 m/s and sampled strong diurnal warm layers during weaker wind periods.

Surf zone circulations and orange paths

Spectrums.zip contains two types of files. The .spt file contain the raw data from the BunkerHill buoy outside Sylt. The fourth entry is the relative PSD of the day, and in the main body of the file the coloumns represent: frequency [Hz], PSD [m^2/Hz], Main direction, directional spreading, Skew, Kurt.
The .txt files contains the 2D SWAN spectrums used in the paper. For further description look to: https://swanmodel.sourceforge.io/online_doc/swanuse/node50.html.

radsAndCircs.txt contain data about the circulations calculated in the surf zone. Each row corresponds to one circulations, and the coloumns correspond to:
Number, tide [m], spreadfactor, main direction [degr], x-location [m], y-location [m], \(\sigma [m], \Gamma_{max} [m^2/s]\). Then 100 radii and then the 100 corresponding circulations.

Tracers.zip contain the 6 orange paths described in the paper. They contain lon/lat coordinates for the oranges sampled at 3Hz.

BOSZ_outputs contains all the data from all the runs used in the paper. The .bosz files must be opened with the load_BZ_array.py script. Of interest of the paper are the longitudes and latitudes, X.bosz and Y.bosz; averaged U and V velocites, Ubartmp.bosz and Vbartmp.bosz. The files are stored as a MxN array, where each element correspond to the value of the variable on the calcualted grid.
The Drifter.txt files contains all the data of the numerical drifters. They are built up as:
time, xDrift1, yDrift1, xDrift2, yDrift2, xDrift3, yDrift3, ...

For data about the bathymetry we refer to the LKN.SH.

Input and Output simulation data of the THOR GCM for the paper Dynamical and radiative effects resulting from the deep non-hydrostatic vs deep quasi-hydrostatic equations in the global circulation model THOR with an added non-grey radiative transfer scheme

The input and ouput simulation data of the THOR GCM for Dynamical and radiative effects resulting from the deep non-hydrostatic vs deep quasi-hydrostatic equations in the global circulation model THOR with an added non-grey radiative transfer scheme

Global circulation models (GCMs) play an important role in contemporary investigations of exoplanet atmospheres. Different GCMs evolve various sets of dynamical equations which can result in obtaining different atmospheric properties between models. In this study, we investigate the effect of different dynamical equation sets on the atmospheres of hot Jupiter exoplanets. We compare GCM simulations using the quasi-primitive dynamical equations (QHD) and the deep Navier-Stokes equations (NHD) in the GCM THOR. We utilise a two-stream non-grey "picket-fence" scheme to increase the realism of the radiative transfer scheme. We perform GCM simulations covering a wide parameter range grid of system parameters in the population of exoplanets. Our results show significant differences between simulations with the NHD and QHD equation sets at lower gravity, higher rotation rates or at higher irradiation temperatures. The parameter exploration shows the relevance of choosing dynamical equation sets dependent on system and planetary properties.Climate states of hot Jupiters seemed to be more diverse than previously thought. There are exceptions to prograde superrotation. Overall, our study shows the evolution of different climate states which arise just due to different selection of Navier-Stokes equations and approximations. We show the shortcomings of approximations in GCMs made for Earth, but used for non Earth-like planets.
