Eye on Core Trust Seal - Data Set
<p>This data set includes extracted information from 40 CoreTrustSeal (CTS) self-assessment reports, which were publicly available by January 15th 2019 at https://www.coretrustseal.org/why-certification/certified-repositories/. The authors extracted general information from the title pages of the self-assessment reports, as well as responses to criterion "R0 - Background Information / Context".<br> Sheet "Extracted_Information" includes all extracted info, whereas "Level_of_Curation", "Designated_Community" and "Repository_Type" include normalized and categorized data. The data cleansing / normalization and analysis processes are described in the paper "Eye on Core Trust Seal - Recommendations for Criterion R0 from Digital Preservation and Research Data Management Perspectives" to be released as part of the Proceedings of iPRES2019, the 16th International Conference on Digital Preservation. The data set forms the basis for an extended analysis of Core Trust Seal criterion R0 from the perspectives of the digital preservation and research data management domain.</p> <p><strong>Abstract of the accompanying paper:</strong></p> <p>The CoreTrustSeal (CTS) is an accepted trustworthy digital repository certification process for both, research data management and digital preservation communities alike. But does it build on concepts known and understood by both of these communities? We take an in-depth look at the CTS requirement <em>R0 - Background Information / Context</em>, in which the applicants are asked to define their repository type, designated community and level of curation performed. By extracting information from the publicly available assessment reports and cross-checking these against available supporting information, we reflect on CTS from three viewpoints: the process, the institutional, and the community view. We distill concrete recommendations, which will be fed back to the CTS Board as part of the 2019 public call for review.</p>

<p>The upload contains raw data files used for the article "SLC35A2 deficiency reduces protein levels of core 1 β-1,3-galactosyltransferase 1 (C1GalT1) and its chaperone Cosmc and affects their subcellular localization".</p> <p><strong>Article abstract</strong></p> <p>Nucleotide sugar transporters (NSTs) are multitransmembrane proteins, localized in the Golgi apparatus and/or endoplasmic reticulum, which provide glycosylation enzymes with their substrates. It has been demonstrated that NSTs may form complexes with functionally related glycosyltransferases, especially in the N-glycosylation pathway. However, potential interactions of NSTs with enzymes mediating the biosynthesis of mucin-type O-glycans have not been addressed to date. Here we report that UDP-galactose transporter (UGT; SLC35A2) associates with core 1 β-1,3-galactosyltransferase 1 (C1GalT1; T-synthase). This provides the first example of an interaction between an enzyme that acts exclusively in the O-glycosylation pathway and an NST. We also found that SLC35A2 associated with the C1GalT1-specific chaperone Cosmc, and that the endogenous Cosmc was localized in both the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus of wild-type HEK293T cells. Furthermore, in SLC35A2-deficient cells protein levels of C1GalT1 and Cosmc were decreased and their Golgi localization was less pronounced. Finally, we identified SLC35A2 as a novel molecular target for the antifungal agent itraconazole. Based on our findings we propose that NSTs may contribute to the stabilization of their interaction partners and help them to achieve target localization in the cell, most likely by facilitating their assembly into larger functional units. </p> <p>The Word document (Data description.docx) contains a description of each file.</p>

<p>Scientific discovery can be aided when data is shared following the principles of findability, accessibility, interoperability, reusability (FAIR) data (Wilkinson et al., 2016). Recent discussions in the palaeoclimate literature have focussed on defining the ideal database format for storing data and associated metadata. Here, we highlight an often overlooked primary process in widespread adoption of FAIR data, namely the systematic creation of machine readable data at source (i.e. at the field and laboratory level). We detail a file naming and structuring method that was used at LSCE to store data in text file format in a way that is machine-readable, and also human-friendly to persons of all levels of computer proficiency, thus encouraging the adoption of a machine-readable ethos at the very start of a project. Thanks to the relative simplicity of downcore palaeoclimate data, we demonstrate the power of this simple but powerful file format to function as a basic database in itself: we provide a Matlab-based GUI tool that allows users to search and visualise data by sediment core location, proxy type and species type. The adoption of similarily accessible, machine-readable file formats at other laboratories will promote data sharing within projects, while also allowing for the automation of submission of data to online database repositories with particular formatting and/or metadata requirements, thus reducing post-hoc workload.</p>
Data set for anthropogenic contaminants in ice cores (Dome C - Antarctica)
<p>The produced dataset (in <em>MS Excel</em> format) contains depth profile concentrations of a 16.5 m deep shallow core (covering approx. 200 years before present) drilled at the plateau site of Dome C, East Antarctica (75°06' South Latitude, 123°21' East Longitude), during the 23<sup>rd</sup> Italian Antarctic Expedition.</p> <p>The concentrations of the Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (<em>PAH</em>) Benzo[k]fluoranthene (<em>BKF</em>) and of Organochlorinated Pesticides (<em>OCP</em>) expressed as three single compounds (<em>PeCB</em>, <em>ALD</em> and <em>44D</em>) and total (<em>Σ<sub>51</sub> Pesticides</em>) are given in ng L<sup>-1</sup>.</p> <p>The ice core covers a time interval, which includes periods before and after the introduction of these Persistent Organic Pollutants (<em>POPs</em>) in commercial mixtures, as well as periods before the construction of research station facilities. However, in the top samples of the ice core, detected concentrations of analytes are ascribable to industrial anthropogenic activities.</p>

Radiometric dating of sediment cores from three alpine lakes in Utah, United States, with stable isotope data
<p>We collected sediment cores from three alpine lakes in Utah, United States, to isolate dormant <em>Daphnia </em>eggs for a resurrection ecology experiment. Our question was whether radioactive fallout from above-ground nuclear weapons testing at the Nevada Test Site in the 1950s and 1960s caused increased mutation rates and population evolution in <em>Daphnia</em>. That work is ongoing. Here, we publish radioisotope dating profiles from our sediment cores.</p>
(new version data) Probing the atomically diffuse interfaces in core-shell nanoparticles in three dimensions
<p><strong>Deciphering the three-dimensional atomic structure of solid-solid interfaces in core-shell nanomaterials is the key to understand their remarkable catalytical, optical and electronic properties. Here, we probe the three-dimensional atomic structures of palladium-platinum core-shell nanoparticles at the single-atom level using atomic resolution electron tomography. We successfully quantify the rich structural variety of core-shell nanoparticles with heteroepitaxy in 3D at atomic resolution. Instead of forming an atomically-sharp boundary, the core-shell interface is atomically diffuse with an average thickness of 4.2 Å, irrespective of the particle's morphology or crystallographic texture. We observed dissolved free Pd and Pt single atoms and sub-nanometer clusters using cryogenic electron microscopy. The high concentration of Pd in the diffusive interface is highly related to the free Pd atoms dissolved from the Pd seeds. These results advance our understanding of core-shell structures at the fundamental level, providing potential strategies into precise nanomaterial manipulation and chemical property regulation.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>The data and source codes for the paper "Probing the atomically diffuse interfaces in core-shell nanoparticles in three dimensions" are posted below.</p> <p><strong># Repositary Contents</strong></p> <p><strong>### 1. Protostellar cores in Sagittarius B2 N and M: continuum data
<p>This is a set of self-calibrated continuum FITS files for the ALMA Cycle 4 project 2016.1.00550.S. The paper "Protostellar cores in Sagittarius B2 N and M" was accepted to ApJ on September 15, 2023. </p> <p>Paper abstract:</p> <p>We present 500 AU and 700 AU resolution 1 mm and 3 mm ALMA observations, respectively, of protostellar cores in protoclusters Sagittarius B2 (Sgr B2) North (N) and Main (M), parts of the most actively star-forming cloud in our Galaxy. Previous lower resolution (5000 AU) 3 mm observations of this region detected <span class="math-tex">\(\sim\)</span>150 sources inferred to be young stellar objects (YSOs) with <span class="math-tex">\(M>8\mathrm{\,M}_\odot\)</span>. With a tenfold increase in resolution, we detect 371 sources at 3 mm and 218 sources in the smaller field of view at 1 mm. The sources seen at low resolution are observed to fragment into an average of two objects. About a third of the observed sources fragment.Most of the sources we report are marginally resolved and are at least partially optically thick. We determine that the observed sources are most consistent with Stage 0/I YSOs, i.e., rotationally supported disks with an active protostar and an envelope, that are warmer than those observed in the solar neighborhood.We report source-counting-based inferred stellar mass and the star formation rate of the cloud: <span class="math-tex">\(2800\mathrm{\,M}_\odot\)</span>, <span class="math-tex">\(0.0038\mathrm{\,M}_\odot \mathrm{yr}^{-1}\)</span> for Sgr B2 N and <span class="math-tex">\(6900\mathrm{\,M}_\odot, 0.0093\mathrm{\,M}_\odot \mathrm{yr}^{-1}\)</span> for Sgr B2 M respectively. </p>
Hornblende 40Ar-39Ar data from debris from the basal ice of the Byrd ice core, central West Antarctica
<p>This dataset comprises of hornblende 40Ar/39Ar ages. Hornblende grains were picked from debris melted from three intervals of basal ice from the Byrd ice core. We include data for all 129 40Ar/39Ar dated hornblende grains, but note that only ages when an 5.0E-18 Mol 39Ar threshold was exceeded are considered reliable (n = 33) and that data from grains with less than 1.5E-17 Mol 39Ar should be interpreted with caution. The ice core the debris was extracted from was drilled at 80<i><strong>°</strong></i> 0.1'S, 119<i><strong>°</strong></i> 31.0'W at Byrd Station, West Antarctica, in January 1968.</p>

Marcell Experimental Forest peat core extraction chemical analysis data (DOC, Fe, Ca, Mg, K, P, Al)
This data set reports iron (Fe), dissolved organic carbon (DOC), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), potassium (K), phosphorus (P), and aluminum (Al) measured in extractions of soil cores sampled from two boreal peatlands, the S1 and S2 bogs, in the Marcell Experimental Forest (MEF) in Itasca County, Minnesota. The soil cores were sampled on September 2, 2017. Elements were quantified in extractions with hydrochloric acid, sodium dithionite, sodium sulfate, and sodium dithionite plus hydrochloric acid to examine how iron influences carbon and nutrient cycling in peatlands. The S1 and S2 sites are research catchments instrumented for hydrologic monitoring. The S1 bog is also the location of the Spruce and Peatland Responses Under Changing Environments (SPRUCE) experiment. These data are used, analyzed, and reported in Curtinrich et al. (2021, Ecosystems).

The purpose of the long term monitoring of zooplankton was to characterize the fauna in the water column larger than or equal to 153 microns and to obtain some basic information on each of the taxa encountered there. A sampling regime of collections made at regular biweekly intervals was implemented to provide the best quantitative assessment of long term changes in the zooplankton population dynamics.
