15th C. Horseman Graffiti, Calatrava la Vieja

Medieval graffiti from Calatrava la Vieja, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. Late medieval Christian period (15th century CE). They were discovered in 1984, during the excavation works carried out under the direction of the architect Miguel Fisac. They are located in the crypt of the Santa María La Blanca Church, inside the alcazar, and were made with a sharp object in the plaster of the south wall of the crypt. They represent several five-pointed stars, geometric forms and groups of parallel lines. The main motif is a man on horseback. There is also a small human figure in frontal view, dressed in a tunic. GDH Interior Graffiti Panel 3. Hervás Herrera, Miguel Ángel (2016): Calatrava la Vieja. Victorian Graffiti at the Ring of Brodgar

This is a high resolution model of one face of a standing stone that forms part of the Ring of Brodgar Stone Circle, Orkney. This stone has been incised with numerous names, initials and dates. A few place names also feature - Evie appears at least 3 times. Many good Orcadian names can be found - Isbister, Marwick and Anderson to name a few. The earliest date I've seen on this stone is 1859, with most dates from the 1870s and 1880s. The stones were not protected when this graffiti was made, but they are now listed as a scheduled ancient monument and it is illegal to deface the stones. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Persian Graffiti, Dwarfie Stane, Hoy, Orkney

This is a high resolution model of graffiti on one of the external faces of the Dwarfie Stane tomb, Hoy, Orkney. The panel is dominated by a large inscription by William Henry Mounsey, which include his name written backwards in Latin 'YESNVOM SVMLEILVC', the date 'A.D. 1850' and an inscription in Persian. The inscription translates as 'I have sat two nights and so learnt patience'. To the right of this is another inscription in Persian, possibly the same quote, that has been largely removed by pecking. The latter shows up well in matcap mode, as does a wide range of more subtle engravings. A complete 3d model of the tomb can be seen here: https://skfb.ly/IIYS Form more information on the Dwarfie Stane visit: https://canmore.org.uk/site/1597/hoy-dwarfie-stane Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

15th C. Hunting Graffiti, Calatrava la Vieja-Esp

They represent five-pointed stars, geometric forms, and several groups of lines. The main motif is a standing man who grasps a crossbow armed with a "virote" and points it at a deer located at a certain distance, which appears represented at a smaller size to give an idea of perspective. It´s a big game hunting scene. GDH Interior Graffiti Panel 4. Hervás Herrera, Miguel Ángel (2016): Calatrava la Vieja.
