Finger kinematics of natural hand movements recorded by an exoskeleton data glove in younger and elderly persons
<p>The data set provides measurements using a SenseGlove DK1.3 exoskeleton data glove while healthy younger and elderly participants performed natural hand movements. Specifically, participants were asked to perform six types of hand-movements where each finger (index to little, i.e., D2-D5) was used once per trial to perform a grip movement together with the thumb (D1) resulting in a sequence of four finger movements per trial.</p>
Validation of the Bond et. al. (2010) SDSS-derived kinematic models for the Milky Way's disk and halo stars with Gaia Data Release 3 proper motion and radial velocity data
<p>We validate the Bond et. al. (2010) kinematic models for the Milky Way's disk and halo stars with Gaia Data Release 3 data. Bond et al. constructed models for stellar velocity distributions using stellar radial velocities measured by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and stellar proper motions derived from SDSS and the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey astrometric measurements. These models describe velocity distributions as functions of position in the Galaxy, with separate models for disk and halo stars that were labeled using SDSS photometric and spectroscopic metallicity measurements. We find that the Bond et al. model predictions are in good agreement with recent measurements of stellar radial velocities and proper motions by the Gaia survey. In particular, the model accurately predicts the skewed non-Gaussian distribution of rotational velocity for disk stars and its vertical gradient, as well as the dispersions for all three velocity components. Additionally, the spatial invariance of velocity ellipsoid for halo stars when expressed in spherical coordinates is also confirmed by Gaia data at galacto-centric radial distances of up to 15 kpc.</p>

TRACE-A Kinematic Trajectory Data
TRACE-A_Trajectory_Data is the kinematic trajectory data collected during the Transport and Atmospheric Chemistry near the Equator - Atlantic (TRACE-A) suborbital campaign. Data from the Two Photon - Laser Induced Fluorescence (TP-LIF) and Differential Absorption of CO, CH4, N2O Measurements (DACOM) instruments are featured in this collection. Data collection for this product is complete.The TRACE-A mission was a part of NASA’s Global Tropospheric Experiment (GTE) – an assemblage of missions conducted from 1983-2001 with various research goals and objectives. TRACE-A was conducted in the Atlantic from September 21 to October 24, 1992. TRACE-A had the objective of determining the cause and source of the high concentrations of ozone that accumulated over the Atlantic Ocean between southern Africa and South America from August to October. NASA partnered with the Brazilian Space Agency (INPE) to accomplish this goal. The NASA DC-8 aircraft and ozonesondes were utilized during TRACE-A to collect the necessary data. The DC-8 was equipped with 19 instruments. A few instruments on the DC-8 include the Differential Absorption Lidar (DIAL), the Laser-Induced Fluorescence, the O3-NO Ethylene/Forward Scattering Spectrometer, the Modified Licor, and the DACOM IR Laser Spectrometer. The DIAL was responsible for a variety of measurements, which include Nadir IR aerosols, Nadir UV aerosols, Zenith IR aerosols, Zenith VS aerosols, ozone, and ozone column. The Laser-Induced Fluorescence instrument collected measurements on NxOy in the atmosphere. Measurements of ozone were recorded by the O3-NO Ethylene/Forward Scattering Spectrometer while the Modified Licor recorded CO2. Finally, the DACOM IR Laser Spectrometer gathered an assortment of data points, including CO, O3, N2O, CH4, and CO2. Ozonesondes played a role in data collection for TRACE-A along with the DC-8 aircraft. The sondes were dropped from the DC-8 aircraft in order to gather data on ozone, temperature, and atmospheric pressure.
The Wave Acquisition Stereo System data in support of Directional Breaking Kinematics Observations from 3D Stereo Reconstruction of Ocean Waves
<p>The stereo-image data archived at https://data-dataref.ifremer.fr/stereo/AA_2015/2015-03-05_10-35-00_12Hz/ has been processed with the Wave Acquisition Stereo System (WASS) software and the output is resampled to a regular grid of 20 cm for the computation of Wave Spectrum.</p> <p>The data is in standard Netcdf4 format and include metadata. The python script used to generate this .nc file is available at https://github.com/akaawase-bernard/WASSnc</p> <p>There is a total of 21571 snapshots of the sea surface elevation information.</p>
