Lists of stopwords, polarity shifters and AnAwords of Bosnian language

<p>The dataset comprises three lists, a list of stopwords, a list of polarity shifters and a list of AnAwords (in two files) of the Bosnian language.</p> <p><strong>Stopwords</strong> refer to a set of words contained in a stop list that are deliberately filtered out or "stopped" during the processing of natural language data, specifically text. These words are typically common and frequently occurring words in a language that are considered to have little or no significance in determining the meaning or context of a text.</p> <p><strong>AnAwords (intensifiers and diminishers)</strong> refer to a set of words primarily functioning as intensifiers and diminishers, often manifesting as adverbs of manner and adjectives. The compilation of AnAwords is based on categorization, which includes six sublists: maximizers, boosters, approximators, relative intensifiers, diminishers, and minimizers. The list is split into two parts (intensifiers and diminishers) in two separate files.</p> <p><strong>Polarity shifters </strong>are words that can affect the&nbsp;<strong>polarity</strong> of a phrase, inverting or weakening it. When these words&nbsp;are content&nbsp;<strong>words</strong>, such as verbs, nouns, and adjectives, we refer to them as&nbsp;<strong>polarity</strong>&nbsp;<strong>shifters</strong>.</p>

Bubble reachers and uncivil discourse in polarized online public sphere comments dataset

<p>This dataset contains comments in Portuguese and English gathered from various sources, such as news websites from Brazil and Canada, social media sites like Facebook and Reddit, e-commerce reviews, Wikipedia comments, among others. Each comment is accompanied by a "toxicity" score provided by the Perspective API.</p> <p><strong>Disclaimer</strong>: This file includes words or language that is considered profane, vulgar or offensive by some readers. Due to the topic studied in this article, quoting offensive language is academically justified, but we nor PLOS in no way endorse the use of these words or the content of the quotes. A Dataset of Polarities and Emotions from Brazilian Portuguese Play Store Reviews

<p>User reviews play a crucial role in shaping consumer perceptions and guiding decision-making processes in the digital marketplace. With the rise of mobile applications, platforms like the Google Play Store serve as hubs for users to express their opinions and experiences with various apps and services. Understanding the polarities and emotions conveyed in these reviews provides valuable insights for developers, marketers, and researchers alike.</p> <p>The dataset consists of user reviews collected from the "Trending" section of the Google Play Store in May 2023. A total of 300 reviews were gathered for each of the top 10 most downloaded applications during this period. Each review in the dataset has been meticulously labeled for polarity, categorizing sentiments as positive, negative, or neutral, and emotion, encompassing a range of emotional responses such as happiness, sadness, surprise, fear, disgust and anger.</p> <p>Additionally, it's worth noting that this dataset underwent a rigorous annotation process. Three annotators independently classified the reviews for polarity and emotion. Afterward, they reconciled any discrepancies through discussion and arrived at a consensus for the final annotations. This ensures a high level of accuracy and reliability in the labeling process, providing researchers and practitioners with trustworthy data for analysis and decision-making.</p> <p>It's important to highlight that all reviews in this dataset are in Brazilian Portuguese, reflecting the specific linguistic and cultural nuances of the Brazilian market. By leveraging this dataset, stakeholders gain access to a robust resource for exploring user sentiment and emotion within the context of popular mobile applications in Brazil.</p>

Dataset for Polarized Signatures of the Earth Through Time: An Outlook for the Habitable Worlds Observatory

<p>The search for life beyond the Solar System remains a primary goal of current and near-future missions, including NASA's upcoming Habitable Worlds Observatory (HWO). However, research into determining the habitability of terrestrial exoplanets has been primarily focused on comparisons to modern-day Earth. Additionally, current characterization strategies focus on the unpolarized flux from these worlds, taking into account only a fraction of the informational content of the reflected light. Better understanding the changes in the reflected light spectrum of the Earth throughout its evolution, as well as analyzing its polarization, will be crucial for mapping its habitability and providing comparison templates to potentially habitable exoplanets. Here we present spectropolarimetric models of the reflected light from the Earth at six epochs across all four geologic eons. We find that the changing surface albedos and atmospheric gas concentrations across the different epochs allow the habitable and non-habitable scenarios to be distinguished, and diagnostic features of clouds and hazes are more noticeable in the polarized signals. We show that common simplifications for exoplanet modeling, including Mie scattering for fractal particles, affect the resulting planetary signals and can lead to non-physical features. Finally, our results suggest that pushing the HWO planet-to-star flux contrast limit down to 1 $\times$ 10$^{-13}$ could allow for the characterization in both unpolarized and polarized light of an Earth-like planet at any stage in its history.</p> <p>This dataset contains all modeled spectropolarimetric signatures used to conduct this work. Each .zip file contains the output folders for one of the four eons: Hadean, Archean, Proterozoic, and Phanerozoic (i.e., Modern). Each of these top-level folders then contains individual folders for each specific model run. The names for each of these individual folders describes the specific model. Finally, each individual folder then contains files for the spectropolarimetric signatures, where each file contains four columns of data representing the spectra for that specific model at that specific planetary phase angle. Please&nbsp;refer to the README.txt as well as the accompanying manuscript for more information.</p> <p>Version 2 of this dataset includes the updated models for the Archean Earth with hazy atmospheres that now extend their spectra from the original 1.2um limit to 1.8um.</p>

Polar Cap Patches Detected with RISR-N

<h3>Database of Polar Cap Patches detected with the North face of the Resolute Bay Incoherent Scatter Radar (RISR-N)</h3> <p>This dataset was generated by applying two polar cap patch detection algorithm described to the full RISR-N database.</p> <p>The Ren2018 algorithm was first described in&nbsp;<a href="http://https//doi.org/10.1029/2018JA025621">Ren et al., 2018 (doi:10.1029/2018JA025621)</a>.&nbsp; It includes the time, peak, and prominence of all detected patches, asd well as the average electron and ion temperature and electron density within each patch.</p> <p>The Perry2018 algorithm was first described in <a href="https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/2018RS006600">Perry &amp; St. Maurice, 2018 (doi:10.1029/2018RS006600)</a>.&nbsp; Instead of a list of patches, this algorithm generates a patch index for each time in the database which corresponds to the percentage of the F-region FoV filled with patches.</p> <p>The script that generates this database in available on GitHub: <a href="https://github.com/Polar-Cap-Scintillation/polar_cap_patch_detection">Polar-Cap-Scintillation/polar_cap_patch_detection</a></p> <p>Version 4 of this dataset includes RISR-N data through 2024 and has an error corrected that may cause some patches to be counted multiple times in the earlier versions.</p>
