InnoRate_Interviews with relevant stakeholders_Dataset3_2021.12.28_v1
<p>This dataset has been collected in the frame of InnoRate project (GA 821518) with a view to gathering information on the needs and profiles of the InnoRate platform potential users and stakeholders. In this respect, several interviews were conducted with innovators, innovation intermediaries and investors. Interviews’ data were collected in the form of notes by the interviewer and encompassed all the relevant information needed to conduct the respective user analysis and profiling, while an anonymized version of some indicative interview responses is uploaded on Zenodo.</p>

Survey responses from stakeholders managing, growing, advising or assessing UK populations of Juniperus communis
<p>Increased imports of plants and timber through global trade networks provide frequent opportunities for introduction of novel plant pathogens that can cross-over from commercial to natural environments, threatening native species and ecosystem functioning. Prevention or management of such outbreaks relies on a diversity of cross-sectoral stakeholders acting along the invasion pathway. Yet guidelines are often only produced for a small number of stakeholders, missing opportunities to consider ways to control outbreaks in other parts of the pathway. We used the infection of common juniper with the invasive pathogen <em>Phytophthora austrocedri</em> as a case study to explore the utility of decision tools for managing outbreaks of plant pathogens in the wider environment. We invited stakeholders who manage or monitor juniper populations or supply plants or management advice to participate in a survey exploring their awareness of, and ability to use, an existing decision tree produced by a coalition of statutory agencies augmented with new distribution maps designed by the authors. Awareness of the decision tree was low across all stakeholder groups including those planting juniper for restoration purposes. Stakeholders requested that decision tools contain greater detail about environmental conditions that increase host vulnerability to the pathogen, and clearer examples of when management practices implicated in pathogen introduction or spread should not be adopted. The results demonstrate the need to set clear objectives for the purpose of decision tools and to frame and co-produce them with many different stakeholders, including overlooked groups such as growers and advisory agents, to improve management of pathogens in the wider environment.</p>

Towards inclusive stakeholder engagement in infrastructure projects: The case of flood alleviation schemes in England
<p><span><span>The data includes transcribed data from semi-structured interviews with industry practitioners from Design, Delivery and Construction teams and local community participants in three flood alleviation schemes in the North of England carried out between 2013 and 2014. These are: the </span></span><span>Didsbury flood storage basin improvement scheme, </span><span>the Ripon Rivers flood alleviation scheme and </span><span>the Todmorden flood alleviation scheme. </span></p>
Exploring the needs of institutional stakeholders involved in the cultural heritage and social innovation sectors
<p>This data set was produced to gather information and lessons learnt from institutional stakeholders directly or indirectly involved in cultural approaches and/or promoting social integration of disadvantaged groups in order to understand what they need to facilitate participatory and inclusive initiatives. </p> <p>The data was gathered across Europe in early 2019 and consists of 90 surveys administered and 17 interviews. 90 surveys were administered to actors working at the intersection of cultural heritage and social innovation. The survey’s goal was to gather insights about the barriers these actors face in the implementation of participatory approaches and the measures adopted to overcome them. Semi-structured interviews (n=17) expanded upon the survey data and were carried out through an opportunistic sample of the survey respondents. The findings provided relevant insights in relation to the configuration of approaches for participatory projects, the main faced barriers, and the achieved level of impact.</p> <p>The original dataset has been processed by removing details and parts that might compromise the anonymity of the participant. </p> <p>This work is supported by the European Union’s Horizon2020 project CultureLabs: Recipes for Social Innovation, under Grant Agreement 770158. Stakeholder perceptions of the impacts of shrub encroachment on rangeland ecosystem services
<p>While the impacts of shrub encroachment on the ecosystem processes have been well-documented, little is known about the extent to which socio-cultural values and perceptions might influence actions undertaken to manage shrub proliferation. Understanding stakeholder values is important because the ecosystem’s capacity to supply a given service or suite of services must be balanced against the value society places on them. Research to date has emphasized supply with little consideration of value, making it difficult to comprehensively or objectively evaluate trade-offs and set priorities, particularly when managing for one particular service or a suite of services may adversely affect another service or suite of services. To address this, we conducted a case study in southern Arizona and New Mexico (U.S.A.) to evaluate stakeholder perceptions of and preferences for various ecosystem services provided on semi-arid rangelands where shrub proliferation in grassland has impacted traditional livestock grazing. Perceptions of rangeland ecosystem services were elicited via a visually based landscape interpretation while preferences were quantified using best-worst scaling (BWS). Our findings suggest that stakeholders familiar with rangelands and their management generally perceive low shrub cover as providing a wider range of valued ecosystem services compared to rangelands with high shrub cover. Ecosystem service preferences in the context of shrub encroachment were generally uniform across all stakeholder groups (e.g. ranchers, state/federal governmental employees, non-governmental land managers, academicians, recreationists), with habitat for biodiversity and erosion control being identified as the most preferred. Our results suggest an opportunity for brush management to serve as a potential win-win management action if framed as a way to maintain or promote rangeland biodiversity and mitigate erosion.</p>

Stakeholder views on the barriers and facilitators of psychosocial interventions to address reduction in aggressive challenging behaviour in adults with intellectual disabilities
<p>Success of psychosocial interventions in reducing aggressive challenging behaviour is likely to be related not only to mechanistic aspects but also to therapeutic and system factors. The study aims to examine the facilitators and barriers that influence whether psychosocial interventions for aggressive challenging behaviour in adults with intellectual disabilities lead to positive change. We conducted 42 semi-structured interviews with adults with intellectual disabilities and aggressive challenging behaviour, family/paid carers, and professionals engaged in or delivering a psychosocial intervention across the UK. Data were analysed thematically using a framework approach. Stakeholders considered therapeutic and supportive relationships and personalised care as facilitating factors of psychosocial interventions to address aggressive challenging behaviour. The operational structure of community intellectual disability services and conflicting expectations of professionals and carers were the main contextual barriers that impeded the implementation of psychosocial interventions addressing aggressive challenging behaviour in adults with intellectual disabilities. Findings highlight the valued components that maximise positive change in adults with intellectual disabilities who display aggressive challenging behaviour. Several operational adjustments including referral criteria, roles of professionals and workforce issues need to be addressed in services to maximise the implementation of psychosocial interventions to reduce aggressive challenging behaviour in adults with intellectual disabilities.</p>
