Windmill and silo ruin- Campo de Criptana, Spain

Ground floor of a ruined windmill and the remains of its corresponding silo in Campo de Criptana (Spain). In La Mancha the windmills had three useful floors connected to each other by means of a spiral staircase. Each one of them was dedicated to one of the phases of the grinding work process. In the upper one, called moledero, most of the machinery was located. The flour descended through a vertical wooden gutter to the intermediate plant, called camareta, in which it was sifted and bagged. The lower floor of the windmill was called cuadra, and it was used to store different tools and sacks full of flour prior to sale or distribution. This is the only section preserved in this 3D model. An auxiliary element closely linked to the windmill was the silo, a semi-subterranean vaulted building with a rectangular floor located close to the windmill. It served to store tools and as a refuge for the miller, stable, and provisional storage of the grain before grinding. 203 ground, 431 drone photos. RealityCapture Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
