OTT radar level sensor (RLS) installed September 20, 2011 out of the water under the concrete pad on the Ipswich Bay Yacht Club pier, Ipswich, MA. RLS was mounted so that continuous year round measurements can be conducted without the concern of ice flows damaging the sensor.
Shoals Club Wreck
On 2/16/2022, Underwater Archaeology Branch (UAB) staff visited Bald Head Island to investigate a wooden wreck that had eroded out of the dune in front of the Shoals Club. The wreck fragment measured about 65 ft in length by 11 ft max width and was positioned with the long axis running perpendicular to the dune in a N/S orientation. It was not clear what type of vessel the irregularly shaped wreckage originally was. It exhibited a heavily built keelson of four 12-inch squared timbers and sister of two similar squared timbers, all fastened together by massive 1.5-inch iron drift pins with washers under the mushroomed head. This structure was fastened to athwartship running floors beneath the keelson structure. These were squarely cut on the west side of the "keelson structure" (KS) about 4' at the extreme south end of the vessel running to flush at the extreme north end. Blitz Club Covent Garden circa 1979-1980
Reconstructed this structure from old photos but few seem to exist. So I left things intentionally vague. I tried to recon some of the interior but couldn't find any archival photos to use. I did come across dozens of photos of the patrons, the "Blitz Kids". That makes sense as the buliding and interior were never the heart of the culture, the people and to a lesser extent the music were the art. Blitz Kids would prepare outfits for weeks and spend hours on make up. Their fashion , style and music helped define the 80s. Some went on to sucessful careers in music and fashion design. So I added some of those photos to a rudimentary interior. <p>This data set contains research data collected as part of a PhD-project at Leipzig University. It contains mostly data concerning 77 societies and clubs in 17th century Leipzig and other places, their 1370 members as well as birth and death places and a classification of occupations of the members. The data model is documented in an XSD-schema file and uses element and attribute names taken from the <a href="https://tei-c.org/release/doc/tei-p5-doc/en/html/index.html">TEI-P5</a> alongside own names.</p>
