<p>WARNING: this video is concerned among other things with death and mortality and may not be suitable for everyone.</p> <p>Alain Resnais film PROVIDENCE from 1977 – the same year I was born – is a film of twos folded into one: <br> A film about writing and about dying; about memory and decay; an American film made by a French director; a film about the word providence in its double meaning as metaphysical term for complete artistic control and as shibboleth for the universe of H. P. Lovecraft about whom Resnais wanted to make a film but never did and on whose tombstone it says in reference to his hometown „I am Providence“. </p> <p>All the allusions and reverberations answering to and turning onto each other are engulfing me. <br> This video essay is a response to these affects overwhelming me. CREATIVE METHODS OF WRITING ACADEMIC ESSAYS
<p><em><span>For learning how to write creative essays, first of all, it should be learnt what “ creative” means. Creative thinking or making things up in creative way could involve using your imagination. Essays are about being factual and objective, communicating the ideas and arguments as clearly as possible, and trying to increase the reader’s knowledge rather than their imagination. But while literary explanations and colorful phrases that we always write are not suitable in essays ,these different kinds of writing share common sides. Essays can quickly attract the attention of the reader and the topicality of the topic expressed in it is one of its characteristics. It is in this respect that it differs from writings written in an literary way.</span></em></p>

There is extensive literature on the question, "Does air quality have health effects?" For example, Google Scholar gives 199,000 hits for ("mortality" and "air pollution"). See Health Effects Institute (2010) and editorial by Brauer and Mancini (2014), for example. One paper that appeared in 1993 has over 6,000 citations. The vast majority of these papers find a positive association between air quality health effects (death). A few papers make the case that if potential bias is carefully taken into account then there is no association between air quality and deaths, e.g. Chay et al. (2003), Enstrom (2005), Janes et al. (2007), Greven et al. (2011), Cox et al. (2013). Clearly the weight of evidence is for a positive association, but for any particular type of claim, logically it takes only one true negative to negate all the positives associations with respect to causation for that claim. A real, causative claim should always be detected in a well-designed and properly run experiment. What are some of the factors that lead to these discordant literature results?
