Picture ordering task EEG
<p><span><span><span><span>Daily activities like preparing a meal rely on the ability to arrange thoughts and actions in the right order. Patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) have difficulties in sequencing tasks. Their deficits in sequential working memory have been associated with basal ganglia dysfunction. Here we demonstrate that altered parietal alpha-theta oscillations correlate with sequential working memory in PD. We included 15 PD patients (6 women, mean age 66.0 years), 24 healthy young (HY, 14 women, mean age 24.1 years), and 16 older participants (HO, 7 women, mean age 68.6 years). Participants completed a picture ordering task with scalp EEG recording, where they arranged five pictures in a specific order and memorized them over a delay. During encoding and the delay, the baseline alpha peak frequency for ordered trials was 10.0 Hz in HY, 10.1 Hz in HO, and 8.9 Hz in PD. PD showed a lower baseline alpha peak frequency with higher alpha power than HY and HO. PD with a higher baseline alpha power tended to respond more slowly. In response to sequence manipulation, the frequency of maximal power change between random and ordered trials (F<sub>max</sub>) was 10.0 Hz in HY, 11.3 Hz in HO, and 7.7 Hz in PD. PD showed a lower F<sub>max</sub> than HY and HO, whereas HO showed a higher F<sub>max</sub> than HY. Compared to PD with F<sub>max</sub> in the alpha band (8-15 Hz, <em>n</em>=11), PD with F<sub>max</sub> in the theta band (4-7 Hz, <em>n</em>=4) tended to show a higher ordering-related accuracy cost in the picture ordering task and lower accuracy and slower responses in an independent working memory task. In conclusion, altered baseline alpha oscillations and task-dependent modulation of alpha-theta oscillations may be a neural marker of poor sequential working memory in PD. </span></span></span></span></p>
Replication Data for: Exact two-component Hamiltonians for relativistic quantum chemistry: Two-electron picture-change corrections made simple
<p>Based on self-consistent field (SCF) atomic mean-field (amf) quantities, we present two simple, yet computationally efficient as well as numerically accurate algebraic approaches to remedy both scalar-relativistic <em>and</em> spin-orbit two-electron picture-change effects (PCE) arising within an exact two-component (X2C) Hamiltonian framework. Both approaches, dubbed as amfX2C and e(xtended)amfX2C, allow us to uniquely tailor PCE corrections to either mean-field models, <em>viz</em>. Hartree–Fock or Kohn–Sham DFT, in the latter case also avoiding the need of a point-wise calculation of exchange–correlation PCE corrections. We assess the numerical performance of these PCE correction models on spinor energies of group-18 (closed-shell) and group-16 (open-shell) diatomic molecules, achieving a consistent ≈ 10−5-Hartree accuracy with regard to reference four-component data. Additional tests include SCF calculations of molecular properties such as absolute contact density and contact density shifts in copernicium fluoride compounds (CnFn, n=2,4,6), as well as equation-of-motion coupled cluster calculations of X-ray core ionization energies of 5<em>d</em> and 6<em>d</em>-containing molecules where we observe an excellent agreement with reference data. To conclude, we are confident that our (e)amfX2C PCE correction models constitute a fundamental milestone towards a universal and reliable relativistic two-component quantum chemical approach, maintaining the accuracy of the parent four-component one at a fraction of its computational cost.</p>
PDF and PSD files of DiapixGEtv picture materials – German version adapted to elicit tense vowels
<p>This zipped folder contains PDF and PSD files of our translation of the DiapixUK picture materials by Baker & Hazan (2011) - adapted to elicit tense vowels in German (DiapixGEtv).</p> <p>For our purpose we only modified the written information when making adjustments to the original DiapixUK versions of the files. Our aim was to include as many tense vowels [i:, e:, a:, o:, u:] as possible while remaining subtle enough so as not to alert the participants to our research focus . The additional documentation contains information on the translation process and an overview over the adapted text parts containing target vowels in stressed syllables including the target word with its target vowel and pronunciation as well as its meaning in English.</p> <p>In order to facilitate further adaptation/modification each item in the PSD files is in a separate layer.</p> <p>Funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) – SFB 1412, 416591334</p>

<p><strong>Supplementary Material</strong></p> <p><em>Context</em>: Software organizations have faced several challenges, such as the need for faster deliveries, frequent changes in requirements, lower tolerance to failures and the need to adapt to contemporary business models. Agile practices have allowed organizations to shorten development cycles and increase customer collaboration. However, this has not been enough. Organizations should evolve to continuous and data-driven development in a continuous software engineering approach. Continuous Software Engineering (CSE) consists of a set of practices and tools that support a holistic view of software development with the purpose of making it faster, iterative, integrated, continuous and aligned with business. Implementing CSE requires changes in the organization’s culture, practices and structure, which may not be easy. <em>Objective</em>: We aim to provide a preliminary picture of CSE adoption in Brazilian software organizations. <em>Method</em>: We adapted and used Zeppelin, a diagnostic instrument of CSE adoption based on the Stairway to Heaven Model (StH), to perform a survey with 28 Brazilian organizations aiming at investigating the adoption of CSE practices. <em>Results</em>: The results indicate that organizations have better addressed agile and continuous deployment practices than the ones related to continuous integration and continuous experimentation, but this scenario changes a bit depending on the organization type. The results also show that CSE adoption has been heterogeneous, but there are patterns in the adoption of some practices. <em>Conclusion</em>: Although the StH model proposes a sequential and evolutionary path for CSE adoption, organizations have not always followed that path systematically. There are indeed CSE practices that depend on others and thus contribute to sequential implementation. However, organizations tend to adopt the practices gradually, covering different stages, and evolving according to the organization needs.</p> <p>This package contains supplementary material of the study performed to investigate the adoption of CSE practices in Brazilian organizations. Picture this, power politics in international aid: A visual content analysis of the 2014 Ebola epidemic in West Africa, Dataset
<p>Literature on framing of the African continent is rich, however, similar framing literature on international actors in Africa is significantly under explored. This study investigated the visual frames through which Chinese, French, and U.S. newspapers engaged in nation branding by portraying international aid during the 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa. Data from the <em>People’s Daily</em>, <em>Le Monde</em>, and <em>The New York Times</em> showed that while Western coverage was negatively toned on frames of medical aid and culture, Chinese coverage was more positively toned on frames of medical aid and the military. Such findings contribute to scholarly understandings of visual media framing as functions of political power struggles and nation branding. </p>
PsPM-HRM_IAPS: SCR, ECG and respiration measurement in response to aversive/arousing/neutral IAPS pictures
<p>This dataset includes skin conductance response (SCR), electrocardiogram (ECG) and respiration measurements for each of 23 healthy unmedicated participants (10 males and 13 females aged 22.6 +/- 3.9 years, age is misprinted in Paulus et al. 2016) in response to the 16 most arousing negative, the 16 most arousing positive (excluding explicit nude), and the 16 least arousing neutral IAPS pictures, presented for 1 s each. ITI was selected randomly on each trial from 43 s, 45 s or 47 s.</p>

Pictures of diseased soybean leaves by category captured in field and with controlled backgrounds: Auburn soybean disease image dataset (ASDID)
<p>The dataset contains 2D images/photographs of diseased soybean leaves ideal for plant disease identification and visual object recognition research. Images were captured during the 2020 and 2021 soybean seasons using a Canon EOS 7D Mark II Digital SLR Camera and a Motorola Moto Z2 Play Smartphone from fields at the EV Smith Agricultural Research Station (Tallassee, Alabama), the Cullars Rotation (Auburn, Alabama), and the Brewton Agricultural Research Unit (Brewton, Alabama). Across both seasons there are a total of 9,981 original images collected across eight disease/deficiency categories. These include (1) healthy-looking plants, and those displaying the symptoms of (2) bacterial blight, (3) cercospora leaf blight, (4) downey mildew, (5) frogeye leaf spot, (6) soybean rust, (7) target spot, and (8) potassium deficiency. For each disease category, leaves were photographed at various canopy heights while still attached to the plant in the field or they were detached from the plant and then immediately photographed while laid flat on the ground in trimmed grass or on a white surface. Images were collected with the goal of developing a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)-based automated classifier of digital images of soybean diseases. Dataset is well-suited for classification modeling.</p>
