1964 flamenca negra guitar from Faustino Conde - documentation and reverse engineered construction plans
<p>This data set documents a specific guitar made by Faustino Conde in Madrid in 1964.<br>(Comment: Felipe Conde identified the handwriting of Mariano Conde in the "Conde" signature on the label inside, the signature of his father. This does not necessarily mean that the guitar was built by Mariano, since experts believe, that it was the brother Faustino who built these kind of special guitars, as it has also been the case for the flamenca negra guitars).</p> <p>The guitar is a so-called flamenca negra, a flamenco guitar with rosewood used for rib and back plate.<br>(Errata: the guitar was sold as a flamenca negra, and experts in Granada also believed it is a flamenca negra. However, Felipe Conde now inspected the guitar and states that the instrument has been built as a classical guitar with only some changes in the setup that might lead to other conclusions. It is not clear whether this setup is original from Conde or whether the guitar has been changed in an aftermath.)</p> <p>The guitar has the exceptional character of showing four main resonances between the Helmholtz resonance (A0) and the first air mode (A1), while other guitars usually have one or two resonances in the same range.<br>This is observable across a wider range of old and contemporary guitars, documented in an archive.<br>Mores, R. 2021a. ‘Archive for the acoustical documentation of classical Spanish guitars, flamenco guitars and romantic guitars from private and public collections – bridge mobility’. <em>Zenodo</em>,<br><a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.4604577" target="_blank" rel="noopener">doi: 10.5281/zenodo.4604577</a>.<br>This observation triggered a research project to understand this.</p> <p>The resulting analytical model reveals the delicate tuning of related parameters in the construction, published in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, JASA. <br>Mores, R. 2021. ‘Sound tuning in asymmetrically braced guitars’. <em>J. The model matches with findings not only of this Conde guitar but explains tuning issues in general. The guitar is original. Also the top and the mechanics. Experts in Granada, while inspecting the varnish, believed that the top plate might have been modified. However, Felipe Conde (*1959) states that the guitar is original. This also includes the fretboard. The fretboard height is declining towards the body and this caused questions by Granadian guitar makers. However, in the workshop of the Conde family several inspected guitars from the 50s through the 70s revealed a likewise decline of the height.<br>2. Felipe Conde inspected the guitar. He believes that the guitar is an experimental guitar and that it has been built as a customized guitar for a highly professional musician. But there are no records on this.<br>3. The setup of the guitar has been modified. The height of the bridge is lowered where the bone sits. This can be inspected in the construction plan. It is not known whether this was done by Conde himself or by someone else in an aftermath. Experts in Granada but also members of the Conde family state that the present setup is perfect.</p>

<p><span>Aiming at promoting the capacity building of competent authorities, scientists and consultants, a novel tool is proposed for assessing the alignment of marine spatial planning processes with ecosystem-based approach principles and to guide its operationalization.</span></p> <p><span>The EB-MSP assessment tool is developed with the ambition of providing a fit-for-purpose tool to overcome the ecosystem-based marine spatial planning implementation barriers reported by experts and managers.</span></p> <p><span>The EB-MSP assessment tool is designed to apply to any spatial plan, regardless of its stage of development: assessment of existing plans, plans in progress; or different national plans in a transboundary region.</span></p> <p><span>The EB-MSP tool can be accessed at https://aztidata.es/EB-MSP</span></p> <p><span>The EB-MSP assessment tool leads users through a step-by-step procedure for evaluating a specific plan.</span></p> <p><span>Upon first access, the user must register. This way, the users can conduct multiple assessments in a single session or different sessions, and can retrieve the information from previous sessions.</span></p> <p><span>The evaluation can be conducted by documenting the actions adopted during the planning process stages, or by examining how ecosystem-based marine spatial planning cross-cutting topics, have been incorporated into the plan.</span></p> <p><span>The user has to provide information about 130 statements that reflect the actions or tasks adopted during the planning process.</span></p> <p><span>For each action, six complementary fields of information have to be provided by the user:</span></p> <ol> <li><span><span><span> </span></span></span><span>the degree of implementation of the action; </span></li> <li><span><span><span> </span></span></span><span>the relevance of the action for the assessed planning site; </span></li> <li><span><span><span> </span></span></span><span>the main source of knowledge base supporting the action; </span></li> <li><span><span><span> </span></span></span><span>the respondent's confidence; </span></li> <li><span><span><span> </span></span></span><span>approaches, tools and methods implemented; and </span></li> <li><span><span><span> </span></span></span><span>justification of the responses</span></li> </ol> <p><span>Once the assessment is performed, the results are displayed as dynamic graphs that can be downloaded.</span></p> <p><span>The responses are also stored in a table, which can be downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet.</span></p>

<p>Our analysis for the manuscript, "Planning for climate migration in Great Lake Legacy Cities" uses county level spatial data from the FEMA National Risk Index (USFEMA, 2021) and the CDC SVI ranking system (ATSDR, 2018) in the form of shapefiles(.shp). The theory of planned behavior and the prediction of pre-service biology teachers' intention to teach evolution
<p>We developed the project to identify and analyze variables that promote or hinder prospective biology teachers’ intentions to teach evolution. We adopted the model of the theory of planned behavior (TPB). We extended it to include additional variables described by teacher education research as key determinants of behavioral intention to teach evolution. We initially hypothesized that attitudes toward teaching evolution, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, personal religious beliefs, perceived usefulness, and knowledge about evolution would determine a person’s behavioral intentions. To test the hypotheses, we developed an online questionnaire and conducted a quantitative cross-sectional survey in the field of teacher education. The data included information on <em>N</em> = 309 participants. Because we initially analyzed the data using a two-stage structural equation model (SEM), we uploaded two data files that were created in subprocesses of our original analyses (for more information, see the original publication). The dataset “data3” contains 77 variables and has missing values. Since we wanted to use complete data for the SEM, we trimmed the data set “data3” to include only the 67 variables necessary for the SEM, then applied an expectation-maximum (EM) algorithm with multiple imputations, and obtained the data set “data4”. </p>
