MERICS Podcast: Assessing the MERICS China Forecast 2023, with Roderick Kefferpütz
<p>2023 will be a critical year for China. The party leadership around Xi Jinping is faced with an unprecedented health crisis and a troubled economy, and needs to balance relationships with the US and Europe while upholding its "no-limits" partnership with Russia.</p><p>To anticipate what 2023 might have in store for us, MERICS conducted the <a href="https://www.merics.org/en/short-analysis/chinas-precarious-path-forward-insights-merics-china-forecast-2023">4th MERICS China Forecast Survey</a> involving 880 China experts and members of the public. In a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5OVDoXWzak">conference on January 18, 2023</a>, our experts and a line-up of high-level speakers discussed the survey's findings and their expectations.</p><p><strong>Roderick Kefferpütz</strong>, Senior Analyst at MERICS who led the compilation of this year's forecast, joins <strong>Johannes Heller-John</strong> to discuss the results.</p>

Hospedagem, distribuição e agregadores de podcast
<p>A apresentação das plataformas SoundCloud e PodCloud tem como base a hospedagem do BCHcast, que iniciamos em fase de testes no SoundCloud. No entanto, após criarmos conta e explorarmos a interface de outros agregadores, tais como Anchor, Blubrry e Podbean (lembrando que hospedagem, distribuição e agregadores se entrelaçam), optamos pelo PodCloud devido, principalmente, à relação custo-benefício na administração do <em>podcast</em>.</p> <p>Dentre todos os agregadores, Spotify, Deezer, iTunes/Apple Podcasts e Google Podcasts são os de maior alcance, e isso se deve, em grande parte, à popularização do <em>podcast</em> como mídia, cujo acesso se dá a partir do próprio <em>smartphone</em>, não necessitando, obrigatoriamente, de um navegador para acessar o conteúdo via site.</p> <p>Comprovadamente, a ascensão do interesse por podcast no Brasil ocorreu nos últimos três anos (2017-2019). Trata-se de uma mídia com potencial de alcançar os mais diferentes tipos de público, haja vista a variedade de temas que podem ser abordados e distribuídos por meio dos áudios gravados, produzindo-se episódios sobre informação científica, por exemplo.</p>
Interesse de pesquisa sobre podcast no Google Trends
<p>Tivemos a comprovação do aumento pelo interesse em <em>podcasts </em>ao realizarmos uma pesquisa no Google Trends, ferramenta amplamente utilizada por jornalistas e profissionais que atuam no mercado de <em>Search Engine Optimization</em> (SEO), a qual nos permitiu constatar, através da busca pela palavra ‘<em>podcast</em>’ no Brasil, considerando o recorte temporal dos últimos três anos (de janeiro de 2017 a dezembro de 2019), que a ascensão de pesquisa por ‘<em>podcast’</em> no Brasil deu-se entre os dias 25 e 31 de agosto de 2019, período que coincidiu com o lançamento do <em>podcast</em> O Assunto, mediado pela jornalista Renata Lo Prete, do portal de notícias G1, cujo primeiro episódio (denominação atribuída, por padrão, a cada áudio do <em>podcast</em>) foi publicado no dia 26 de agosto.</p> <p>Ainda com base em pesquisa no Google Trends, em janeiro de 2020, constatamos que o Ceará ocupava a 10ª posição em interesse de pesquisa por <em>podcast</em>. Além desses dados, o Google Trends nos apresentou os assuntos e as consultas relacionadas, as quais indicaram que os usuários que pesquisaram por ‘<em>podcast’</em> também pesquisaram por outros temas, dentre eles, o significado da palavra e como instalar o Spotify.</p>

What does remain in people's feelings and emotions? <br><strong>Mark Ledbury</strong> is Power Professor of Art History and Director of the Power Institute at the University of Sydney. His research focuses on the relationships between theatre and visual art, and on the concept of genre in the visual arts. He is the author and editor of books and studies on Francois Boucher, Jean-Baptiste Greuze and Jacques-Louis David, and his current projects focus on innovation transfer across artistic communities in eighteenth-century France, and on the practice of History painting. He is currently one of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for a new digital critical edition of <a href="https://choixdechansons.cdhr.anu.edu.au/">Jean-Benjamin de Laborde’s 1773 <em>Choix de Chansons </em></a> . At the University of Sydney Mark teaches and supervises across eighteenth and nineteenth century European art, and As Director of the <a href="http://www.powerpublications.com.au/">Power Institute</a> Mark curates programmes and events designed to bring ideas in the visual arts to a wide national and international audience.
