Prodigal Son Sculpture Photogrammetry Scan
This marble statue, called "Prodigal Son," was made by American sculptor George Grey Barnard in 1904-1906. It was later donated to Louisville, KY's Speed Art Museum, where it resides today. Although the statue has full 360-degree access, it is between 20-25 feet tall, so this 3-D model is a partial photogrammetry scan of the statue, as a full scan would require bringing a ladder to the museum. Because of this, the top of the model is incomplete. A more comprehensive scan of the artifact would result in a complete 3-D model without holes. Institutions looking to digitize their collections should consider photogrammetry services, a safe, non-invasive, and cost-effective way to digitize historic artifacts. Vine - sculpture
The white marble statue of a girl with grapes is the work of sculptor Karla Vobisova from 1960. The girl's act is on a sandstone base, her right leg is moved, left slightly kneeling in her knees. In the hands bound on his chest he holds the grapes of wine, the vine is decorated with his hair. The statue of Karla Vobišová, the pupils of Bohumil Kafka and Emil Bourdel, belongs to the characteristic examples of the work of this figural and portrait-based artist.
