Results of a Survey on Obstacle Resolving Model Data
<p>This publication includes the results of the online survey "Obstacle resolving model data survey" which was available via https://www.uhh.de/orm-survey until June 2022. The data was collected between October 2019 and June 2022. The survey was created with the survey tool limesurvey (https://www.limesurvey.org/).</p> <p>The aim of the survey was to collect information on obstacle-resolving atmospheric models and their data, targeting the modeler community. As a part of the project AtMoDat (www.atmodat.de (https://www.atmodat.de/)) we invited the obstacle-resolving modeling community to contribute with their experience with obstacle-resolving models (ORM) and its model data, what models were used and how the user handles the data. We want to develop a data standard for obstacle-resolving model data, which shall be similar to existing standards. Therefore we need some information about the use and processing of model data. This survey asks about the usage of different obstacle-resolving models and/or outputs. </p> <p>The survey is divided into two parts, the first part contains questions about model properties and the second part contains questions about how the participants handle model data. </p>

<p>From March to April 2023 PATTERN launched a Survey to explore the perception of and existing learning opportunities for reseachers on Open RRI.</p>

<p>This data was used to produce the “Report on European and regional analysis of the needs, opportunities and expectations to bio-based education/training model” in the framework of BioBEC project (101023381-H2020-BBI-JTI-2020).<br>The data provide information about the needs and expectations of the main stakeholders (Academics / Researchers / Consultants / Educational Administrators / Non profit foundations / Clusters) regarding the design, development and implementation of Bio Based Education Centres across different European Regions. The survey used asked the informants to provide their opinion regarding different statements in a scale from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). The focus group includ open questions focused on the topics described. </p>

Dataset of EMBCP survey results: Ocean experts (2020)
<p>In order to provide a picture of marine science communication in Europe being presented at the European Marine Board Future Science Brief N°8 ‘<a href="https://www.marineboard.eu/publications/marine-science-communication-europe-way-forward">Marine Science Communication in Europe: a way forward</a>’, the European Marine Board Communications Panel (EMCP) carried out three surveys targeting different stakeholder groups from across Europe. The results of these surveys underpin this document. Two main, in-depth surveys were carried out, one targeting experts (Ocean scientists, marine policy-makers, industry representatives, media professionals and Ocean communication or education experts) and the other targeting secondary-school students (17-18 years old). This dataset presents the results of the survey targeting experts.</p>
Survey results for: Public perceptions of cultural ecosystem services provided by beach nourishment and eelgrass restoration in southern Sweden
<p>Ecosystem-based protection is becoming a viable adaptation option to conventional engineered solutions to rising sea levels and coastal erosion. While the environmental and biological ecosystem services provided by ecosystem-based adaptation measures such as beach nourishment and/or seagrass plantations are being acknowledged and analysed, less attention has been paid to the social or cultural dimensions of these services. This paper builds upon the emerging body of research that explores cultural ecosystem services in coastal areas and how they are perceived by the people who live, work and recreate in these areas. The aim of the paper is to take stock of and understand public and stakeholder perceptions of the cultural ecosystem services that may accrue through eelgrass (<em>Zostera marina</em>) restoration in tandem with beach nourishment in Southern Sweden. The empirical research is based on an online open-ended questionnaire in the coastal municipalities of Båstad, Trelleborg, Ystad and Kristianstad. The results demonstrate that virtually all respondents had noticed a change in the coastline in recent years, mainly that the coastline had retreated. While beach nourishment measures were recognized among respondents to counter the shoreline erosion, there was very little understanding of the role that eelgrass plantations can play in creating biodiversity and benefits for society. Still, most acknowledged the importance of making room for water and biodiversity at the coast, stating how the coastline was valued for primarily health and spiritual reasons. This knowledge will help local, regional, and national decision-makers and regulatory authorities to make evidence-based choices for coastal protection, by complementing the analysis of environmental and physical ecosystem-services with cultural and socio-economic considerations. Nature-based solutions such as eelgrass reintroduction or beach nourishment should be tailored to the values, perspectives, and perceptions of the local communities to help ensure their continued contribution to biodiversity.</p>
2023 Results of Complex Academic Integrity and Open Science Surveys of OPTIMA Project
<p>We publish the list of questions and results (datasets) of the complex survey conducted at the National level in Ukraine and within the Ukrainian partner universities of the <a href="https://lpnu.ua/en/optima">OPTIMA project</a> from Dec 04 – Dec 31, 2023. Identical surveys were conducted in <a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8067080">2021</a> and <a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8067262">2022</a>.</p> <p>The survey aims to study the attitude of Ukrainian students and the academic community toward the values of academic integrity and open scientific practices, as well as to identify typical examples of dishonest behavior in Ukrainian higher education institutions. Participation in the survey was voluntary and anonymous, and its results (collected data and their analysis) will be published in open access. Ethical approval for the survey was waived by the Ethics Committee of the Lviv Polytechnic National University Academic Board. Establishing barriers and needs for increased uptake of alternative weed control across Europe: Survey results from the UK, Latvia, France, Italy, Greece, Sweden and Spain.
<p><span>Reduced use of chemical herbicides and increased uptake of alternative weed control methods will only occur if there is improved understanding of the current barriers and needs of key stakeholders. An online survey about stakeholders’ perspectives and use of alternative weed control methods was carried out with Farmers, Agronomists, Researchers, Policy makers/advisors in 2023. Key barriers and needs were identified to encourage farmers to adopt sustainable weed control approaches which should guide future work addressing the implementation of Integrated Weed Management.
