Sound field image with objects dataset
<h2>Description</h2> <p>This sound field image with objects dataset contains clean-noisy pairs of complex-valued sound-field images generated by 2D acoustic simulations. The dataset was initially prepared for SoundSil-DS (https://github.com/nttcslab/soundsil-ds), a DNN-based denoising method for optically measured sound fields. Please check our GitHub repository and paper for details.</p> <h2><br>Directory structure</h2> <p>The dataset contains three directories: training, validation, and evaluation. Each directory contains "soundsource#" sub-directories (# represents the number of sound sources used in the acoustic simulation). Each sub-directory has three h5 files for data (clean, white noise, and object-mask) and one CSV file listing random parameter values used in the simulation.</p> <p>- /training</p> <p> - /soundsource#</p> <p> - sf_true.h5</p> <p> - sf_noise_white.h5</p> <p> - mask_data.h5</p> <p> - random_variables.csv</p>
Data from: Statistical analysis for subjective and objective evaluations of dental drill sounds
The sound produced by a dental air turbine handpiece (dental drill) can markedly influence the sound environment in a dental clinic. Indeed, many patients report that the sound of a dental drill elicits an unpleasant feeling. Although several manufacturers have attempted to reduce the sound pressure levels produced by dental drills during idling based on ISO 14457, the sound emitted by such drills under active drilling conditions may negatively influence the dental clinic sound environment. The physical metrics related to the unpleasant impressions associated with dental drill sounds have not been determined. In the present study, psychological measurements of dental drill sounds were conducted with the aim of facilitating improvement of the sound environment at dental clinics. Specifically, we examined the impressions elicited by the sounds of 12 types of dental drills in idling and drilling conditions using a semantic differential. The analysis revealed that the impressions of dental drill sounds varied considerably between idling and drilling conditions and among the examined drills. This finding suggests that measuring the sound of a dental drill in idling conditions alone may be insufficient for evaluating the effects of the sound. We related the results of the psychological evaluations to those of measurements of the physical metrics of equivalent continuous A-weighted sound pressure levels (LAeq) and sharpness. Factor analysis indicated that impressions of the dental drill sounds consisted of two factors: "metallic and unpleasant" and "powerful". LAeq had a strong relationship with "powerful impression", calculated sharpness was positively related to "metallic impression", and "unpleasant impression" was predicted by the combination of both LAeq and calculated sharpness. The present analyses indicate that, in addition to a reduction in sound pressure level, refining the frequency components of dental drill sounds is important for creating a comfortable sound environment in dental clinics.

Pre-Columbian Vessel "Paccha" Object
http://emuseum.cornell.edu/view/objects/asitem/items$0040:40328 "The function of this object is not clear. Its general form resembles Inca libation tubes (paccha in Quechua), which were used to pour libations or liquid offerings, usually of maize beer, to the mother earth spirit (Pachamama). However, this piece is made in local style and does not show Inca influence. The wear on the pointed end may indicate an alternate function as a "clyster tube," used to administer hallucinogenic enemas, although Tuza and Capulí clyster tubes differ from this vessel in having a less evenly tapered shape. Anal infusions of drugs such as Datura are still used among Amazonian groups during male coming-of-age rituals." Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Non-Overlapping Multi-Camera Calibration Dataset using Icosahedron and Cube Calibration Object
<p>Our dataset comprises images captured using two 3D calibration objects: an icosahedron and a cube. Six 20MP monochrome cameras were arranged in a semicircular configuration with minimal overlapping fields of view. A consistent robotic motion pattern was employed to acquire sequential images for both calibration objects.</p> <p>This work is conducted at the Institute for Factory Automation and Production Systems(<a href="https://www.faps.fau.eu/">FAPS</a>), University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany.</p>
Synthetic Training Dataset for Real-World Terminal Strip Object Detection
<p>This dataset provides synthetic training data for the real-world industrial application of terminal strip object detection to investigate the sim-to-real generalization performance of modern object detectors based on state-of-the-art image synthesis methods. It consists of 30.000 randomly generated synthetic images of terminal strips covering 36 different terminal blocks in five colors and additional accessories such as plug-in bridges, test adapters, end covers and markings. Except from the markings and the DIN rail all objects of the terminal strips are labeled with a bounding box and the respective object class for supervised learning. Additionally, 300 real images of terminal strips were taken and manually labeled for the real-world test.</p> <p>If you use this datset for your research, please consider citing this: <a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2403.04809">Investigation of the Impact of Synthetic Training Data in the Industrial Application of Terminal Strip Object Detection</a></p>
