Data: set for "Low-voltage 2D materials-based printed field-effect transistors for integrated digital and analog electronics on paper"

<p>The file reports the raw data of Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4 of the manuscript. Data shown in Figure 2 represent the electrical characterization of the MoS2 FETs with inkjet-printed silver contacts. Figure 2a is a typical transfer characteristic measured as a function of the gate voltage for a drain voltage of 2.0 V; Figure 2b is a typical output characteristic measured at different gate voltages (from VGS = 0.0 V to VGS = 1.75 V, steps of 0.25 V). Figure 3 represents the electrical characterization of the MoS2 FETs with inkjet-printed graphene contacts. In particular, a typical transfer characteristic curve measured as a function of the gate voltage for a drain voltage of 2.5 V is shown and a typical output characteristic curves measured at increasing gate voltages (from VGS = 0.0 V to VGS = 1.75 V, steps of 0.25 V) are reported in Figure 3b and Figure 3c, respectively. Logic gates and current mirror based on MoS2 FETs with inkjet-printed silver contact are presented in Figure 4. Figure 4c shows the output voltage (left axis) and the voltage gain (right axis) of the inverter gate as a function of the input voltage; Figure 4f the output voltage of the NAND gate as a function of the input states (VIN1, VIN2). Voltage bias is 5 V for both the inverter and the NAND gate; and Figure 4i g the output current of the current mirror as a function of the output voltage for two different values of the reference current. The file reports the raw data of Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4 of the manuscript. Process data for development of a digital material shadow for the press hardening route of medium manganese steel

<p>Press-hardened ultra-high strength steel parts are widely used in the automotive sector for their lightweight and safety advantages. Medium-Manganese Steels (MMnS) are being explored as an alternative to boron-manganese steels due to their high strength and ductility after quenching, achieved at lower annealing temperatures thus reducing energy usage and carbon emissions. However, industrial adoption of MMnS is hindered by challenging processing requirements, e.g. in cold-rolling and press hardening. To expedite and improve the process development, data-driven decisions based on process parameters hold promise. Establishing a link between process data and the final produced part necessitates the development of a framework for a Digital Material Shadow (DMS). This paper investigates the development of a DMS framework for the cold rolling and press hardening process chain. In conjunction with conventional data acquisition methods employed for cold rolling, novel data acquisition techniques are introduced specifically tailored for press hardening, ensuring the comprehensive availability of relevant data. Moreover, a data pipeline is implemented to enable automatic processing, visualization, and analysis of process data. To facilitate seamless data linkage across processes in the DMS, an ID-system is introduced. Finally, the developed framework&rsquo;s validity is demonstrated by creating a DMS for press-hardened MMnS parts, showcasing its potential for practical applications.</p>

An Image-Based Gamut Analysis of Translucent Digital Ceramic Prints for Coloured Photovoltaic Modules: Supplementary Data

<p>Colouring the frontglass of PV modules via digital ceramic printing aids in concealing the PV when integrated into existing building fa&ccedil;ades as BIPV, while admitting sufficient light to produce electricity. This promotes the visual acceptance and adoption of PV as a source of renewable energy in urban environments. The effective colour of the PV laminate is a combination of the transparent colour on glass and the colour of the PV cells. This colour should ideally match the architect&rsquo;s visual expectations in terms of fidelity, but also in terms of relative PV efficiency as a function of print density. In practice, these requirements are often contradictory, particularly for vivid colours, and the visual results may deviate significantly. This paper presents an objective analysis of how colours appear on PV frontglass laminated with a PV module, using an image-based colour acquisition process. Given a set of 1044 nominal colours uniformly distributed in the RGB colour space, each printed in 10 opacities, we quantify the range of effective colours observed when printed on glass and combined with PV, and their deviation from the nominals. Our results confirm that the effective colour gamuts are significantly constrainted and skewed, depending on the ink volume and glass finish used for printing. In particular, blue-magenta hues cannot be reliably rendered with this process. These insights can serve as guidelines for selecting target colours for BIPV that can be well approximated in practice.</p>

Data from: Nocturnal giants: evolution of the sensory ecology in elephant birds and other palaeognaths inferred from digital brain reconstructions

The recently-extinct Malagasy elephant birds (Palaeognathae, Aepyornithiformes) included the largest birds that ever lived. Elephant bird neuroanatomy is understudied but can shed light on the lifestyle of these enigmatic birds. Paleoneurological studies can provide clues to the ecologies and behaviors of extinct birds because avian brain shape is correlated with neurological function. We digitally reconstruct endocasts of two elephant bird species, Aepyornis maximus and A. hildebrandti, and compare them with representatives of all major extant and recently-extinct palaeognath lineages. Among palaeognaths, we find large olfactory bulbs in taxa generally occupying forested environments where visual cues used in foraging are likely to be limited. We detected variation in olfactory bulb size among elephant bird species, possibly indicating interspecific variation in habitat. Elephant birds exhibited extremely reduced optic lobes, a condition also observed in the nocturnal kiwi. Kiwi, the sister taxon of elephant birds, have effectively replaced their visual systems with hyperdeveloped olfactory, somatosensory and auditory systems useful for foraging. We interpret these results as evidence for nocturnality among elephant birds. Vision was likely deemphasized in the ancestor of elephant birds and kiwi. These results show a previously unreported trend toward decreased visual capacity apparently exclusive to flightless, nocturnal taxa endemic to predator-depauperate islands.
