Type 99 Machine Gun: With infantry Bayonet
The Type 99 was basically the same design as the Type 96 light machine gun, and had a number of parts in common. However, it dispensed with the oiler and had better primary extraction, increasing reliability over its predecessors. Early models had a mono-pod at the stock and a flash suppressor on the muzzle, which was screwed onto a threaded portion of the gun barrel. A top-mounted curved detachable box magazine held 30 rounds, and the finned gun barrel could be rapidly changed to avoid overheating. A standard infantry bayonet could be attached to the gas block below the barrel, but on the battlefield this feature proved inconsequential due to the weight of the gun and the fact that the blade was largely obstructed by the flash hider when it was fixed on the muzzle Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
Machine Gun Bunker, Matalentisco I, Águilas, Es.
The Machine Gun Bunker of Matalentisco I it is located in Águilas (Murcia, Spain). Its design and construction is part of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), possibly built in 1937 or 1938, forming part of the Republic Coast Defense Plan. The bunker is essentially built in concrete. It conserves its lateral entrance. Inside, the bunker allows the placement of one heavy machine gun. It also has a small space for storage of supplies and ammunition. This model was created from 982 images taken from a DJI Phantom 4 Pro Plus drone. The images were aligned, and the model was generated and textured in Reality Capture. Gun Flint: EOA:2022.112
Gun flint from the wreck of the Earl Of Abergavenny. ID:EOA:2022.112 Collection: Earl of Abergavenny Classification: Military Measurements: Length 20mm Width 20mm Height 5mm Date made: 1804 Display: not on display Manufacturer/Creator: as yet unknown Credit: Portland Museum Trust One of the smallest gun flints recovered from the wreck and likely for use in pistols, this is a wedge shaped piece of Northfleet stone supplied by Thomas Levett of Kent. 1804 was the last year that Levett supplied gun flint to the East India Company and so it is likely that the pieces found on the Abergavenny were from the final shipment before procurement switched to Brandon stone from Suffolk.
