Average daily air temperature, precipitation and relative sunshine duration for Vallon de Nant catchment, extracted from gridded MeteoSwiss data (1961-2020)
<p>This excel file contains time series of daily temperature, precipitation and relative sunshine duration obtained as the spatial average of gridded data sets. The underlying original gridded data sets produced by MeteoSwiss are known as RhiresD, TabsD and SrelD. All meta data are included in the excel file.</p> <p>The data can e.g. be used for hydrological modelling. Comparison to local station data is not included.</p> <p><strong>This data set as well as the original data set should be cited</strong>.</p>
A Daily near-surface Air Temperature Dataset for China from 1979 - 2018
<p>The CDAT dataset contains near-surface air temperature data for China during the period of 1979-2018, in Celsius, daily temporal (T<sub>max</sub>, T<sub>min</sub>, T<sub>avg</sub>), and 0.1º spatial resolution.</p> <p>This product integrates multiple data sources such as reanalysis data (ERA5, CMFD), remote sensing data (MODIS), and in situ data, and is obtained by combining the temperature strategy to distinguish between clear sky and non-clear sky weather conditions. It is proved that this dataset has high accuracy and can be used in the further study of regional climate change.</p>
Bias-corrected monthly air temperature data over South Siberia for 1979-2020 (CTSS 1.0)
<p>Bias-<strong>C</strong>orrected Air <strong>T</strong>emperature data over <strong>S</strong>outh <strong>S</strong>iberia (<strong>CTSS 1.0</strong>) contains monthly air temperature at 2m for the area within the coordinates 50–65 N, 60–120 E for the period from January 1979 to December 2020. CTSS data were combined from monthly total air temperture data from ERA5 reanalysis European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (Copernicus Climate Change…, 2017) and temperature data records from ground weather stations (Bulygina et al., 2014). The ERA5 data were scaled according to the derived correction coefficient. The additive coefficient for each month and weather station were calculated and extrapolated to the study area using the ordinary kriging method. Data spatial resolution is 0.25° in the latitude and 0.25° in the longitude. CTSS reproduces the spatial variability of temperature more precisely than can be done from the weather station observation network. Hourly Air Temperature Datasets from city of Novi Sad - NSUNET system
<p>This dataset captures hourly air temperature data from 12 urban sites in Novi Sad (Serbia) over a period of 2 years covering 2016 and 2017 (measurement time is in UTC). There are 2 datasets in the collection: one dataset provides details about the 12 sites at which the temperature sensors are placed (Table 1, excel file), while the second file contains air temperature data at the 12 locations (.csv file). In all, the second dataset contains 17,544 instances of air temperature data. The temperature data has been cleaned and gap-filled so there are 24 measures at each site for each day. There are multiple potential uses for this data. It can provide insights when trying to understand intra-urban and inter-urban research, urban climate modeling on local or micro scales, heat-related public health investigations and urban environment inquiries. It can also be used in machine learning experiments, for example, to test the accuracy of classification algorithms or to build and validate spatio-temporal machine learning functions, either for classification purposes or for gap filling.</p>
Outdoor air temperature dataset - IN-HALE Project
<p>Dataset for network IN01 in project IN-HALE PROJECT</p> <p>IN-HALE project aims to identify the thermal summer conditions inside the residences of residents over 65 years of age and to identify the individual determinants of exposure to heat, as well as the barriers (material and/or immaterial) for thermal adaptation. To this end, we will monitor the indoors thermal environment of 20 dwellings, through visits of objective assessment of the thermal behaviour of the dwellings and using the installation of thermal dataloggers during the summer period.</p> <p> </p>
XXIst century projections of global forest soil and canopy air temperature offsets (CLM5.1, SSP5-8.5)
<p>The following dataset allows to reproduce the figures in <a href="https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/ad1f04/pdf">Hes et al 2024 </a>. It is generated by CLM5.1 simulations following the SSP5-8.5 scenario and contains the temperature offset between forest and grassland for soil temperature T<sub>g </sub> and canopy air temperature T<sub>c.</sub> The offset temperatures (∆T<sub>g</sub> and ∆T<sub>c</sub>) are defined as the difference between the internal temperature of the forest tile minus the internal temperature of the grassland tile. For each grid cell, we compute the difference between the area-weighted average temperature in forests, and the area-weighted average temperature over grassland.</p> <p>We define the offset for minimum ∆T<sub>g,min</sub>, maximum ∆T<sub>g,max</sub> and mean ∆T<sub>g,mean</sub> soil temperature. ∆T<sub>g,min</sub> (respectively, ∆T<sub>g,mean </sub>and ∆T<sub>g,max</sub>) is derived by selecting the monthly minimum (respectively, mean and maximum) of the 6-hourly forest ∆T<sub>g </sub>and subtracting the simultaneous T<sub>g</sub> over grassland within a grid cell. We consider all grid cells that contain both more than 0% of tree PFT cover (forest) and more than 0% of grass PFT cover (grassland). T<sub>c</sub> offsets (∆T<sub>c,min</sub>,∆T<sub>c,max</sub> and ∆T<sub>c,mean</sub>) are generated using the same method although we note that unlike for ∆T<sub>g</sub>, the differentiation between forest and grassland T<sub>c</sub> also encapsulates a difference in height.<br><br>Here, we provide monthly data for minimum, maximum and mean soil and canopy air temperature for 3 forest PFT-based biomes (boreal, temperate and tropical) and for all forest PFTs (global).<br><br>For more information, refer to the Methods is <a href="https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/ad1f04/pdf">Hes et al 2024</a></p>

Air Temperature for 4 LTTG sites, digitized from thermograph weather charts: Hourly Data; 1968-1989
Data is from weather stations. Pre- 5/89 data is all from thermographs of various makes (Bendix, Belfort, and Casella). Temperatures were digitized on a CalComp drawing board using software developed by Robert E. Schlentner (Forest Soils Lab, U. of Ak.). Program reads automatically at each hour's "distance" on the chart and allows for the specific curvature of the plot due to pen sweep. Post 5/89 data is from Omnidata easy logger data loggers replaced these thermographs in 1989. The data logger data is also available (see eloga.dfd, elogd.dfd and elogs.dfd).
