Supplementary materials for: Female‐female aggression in a cooperatively breeding bird during the non‐breeding period: The behavioral strategy to maintain long‐term partnerships
<p>Social monogamy evolves in association with biparental care. However, males who tend to pursue multiple mating are expected to place less value on established partnerships, whereas females do the opposite to ensure males'participation in rearing offspring. Accordingly, selection is expected to favor paired females to behave aggressively towards females that approach their social mates. For species with long-term partnerships, female-female aggression commonly observed during the breeding period should also occur in the non-breeding period. We look at whether these expectations are held up by conducting a field experiment in Tibetan ground tits Pseudopodoces humilis, a cooperatively breeding bird that has lifetime monogamy and forms new pair bonds in winter. Paired but not unpaired females were more aggressive towards the same-sex than towards opposite-sex intruders experimentally introduced into the winter group territory, an indication that paired females may be protecting partnerships. Both paired and unpaired males, on the other hand, displayed aggression almost equally against intruders of both sexes, indicating a likely function in territory defense. Our work provides the first evidence for the female's role in maintaining long-term monogamy during the non-breeding period in birds, and contributes to the recent progress regarding intrasexual competition between females as a component of sexual selection.</p>
Public-private partnerships in nutrition specific interventions in Eastern Mediterranean Region countries
<p class="MDPI17abstract"><b>Introduction:</b> Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in public health have been widely promoted as an effective tool for accelerating progress toward achieving the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 2 "to eliminate hunger." At the global level, partnership with the private sector was found to be very instrumental in <span>improving the nutritional status of poor and food-insecure people,</span> promoting healthy lifestyle, and developing initiatives to prevent childhood obesity. In countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR), PPPs in nutrition actions has been mainly driven by UN and International development agencies to support low and middle -income countries in achieving better health outcomes. Despite the increased prominence of engaging the private sector in public health actions in countries of the EMR, the evidence on the role of the private sector in the design/implementation of these actions is still not documented.</p> <p class="MDPI21heading1"><b>Objectives</b>: The objective of this study is to assess the role and contribution of the private sector in the design/ implementation of nutrition- specific interventions addressing the double burden of malnutrition in countries from the EMR and identifying the key factors for successful PPP implementation.</p> <p><span><b>Methods</b>: <span>The study design was descriptive using secondary data obtained from digital internet sources, including WHO databases, grey literature, and websites of UN and International development agencies. </span></span></p> <p><span><b><span>Results</span></b><span>: The desk review revealed that the private sector has played a sizable role in the implementation of food fortification initiatives and in the implementation of nutritional policies promoting healthy diets. The experience of the Region shows the significant impact of government commitment, and the availability of national policies and systems for monitoring and enforcement on the sustainability and effectiveness of PPPs specific nutrition interventions.</span></span></p> <p><span><b><span>Conclusion</span></b><span>: The study emphasizes the key actions recommended for the governments to enhance the application of PPPs as a tool to accelerate the EMR countries' progress toward achieving the nutrition targets under SDG 2 by 2030. </span></span></p>
Data from: Fungal specificity and selectivity for algae play a major role in determining lichen partnerships across diverse ecogeographic regions in the lichen-forming family Parmeliaceae
Microbial symbionts are instrumental to the ecological and long-term evolutionary success of their hosts, and the central role of symbiotic interactions is increasingly recognized across the vast majority of life. Lichens provide an iconic group for investigating patterns in species interactions; however, relationships among lichen symbionts are often masked by uncertain species boundaries or an inability to reliably identify symbionts. The species-rich lichen-forming fungal family Parmeliaceae provides a diverse group for assessing patterns of interactions of algal symbionts, and our study addresses patterns of lichen symbiont interactions at the largest geographic and taxonomic scales attempted to date. We analysed a total of 2356 algal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region sequences collected from lichens representing ten mycobiont genera in Parmeliaceae, two genera in Lecanoraceae and 26 cultured Trebouxia strains. Algal ITS sequences were grouped into operational taxonomic units (OTUs); we attempted to validate the evolutionary independence of a subset of the inferred OTUs using chloroplast and mitochondrial loci. We explored the patterns of symbiont interactions in these lichens based on ecogeographic distributions and mycobiont taxonomy. We found high levels of undescribed diversity in Trebouxia, broad distributions across distinct ecoregions for many photobiont OTUs and varying levels of mycobiont selectivity and specificity towards the photobiont. Based on these results, we conclude that fungal specificity and selectivity for algal partners play a major role in determining lichen partnerships, potentially superseding ecology, at least at the ecogeographic scale investigated here. To facilitate effective communication and consistency across future studies, we propose a provisional naming system for Trebouxia photobionts and provide representative sequences for each OTU circumscribed in this study.

The Utilization of Paid Partnership Influencers Content to Increase Customer Purchase Intention
<p><span>This research is motivated by the phenomenon of social media marketing activities performed by online businesses to boost their product sales. The problem is that there are new business actors who keep arising along with the newest product ideas and marketing strategies to compete in the industry. Hence, this research aims to identify factors that effectively attract customers' purchase intention through the utilization of social media platforms. The method used in this study is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) PLS with the purposive sampling method for primary data collection. The data were taken from TikTok application users who have seen product marketing content with a ‘Paid Partnership’ label. The primary data of 169<em> </em>respondents were collected from April to September 2024 from the people who live in Indonesia. The result shows that six hypotheses are accepted including variable Product Trust, Buying Ability, Social Media Marketing Activities, Paid Partnership Influencer, Attitude, and Purchase Intention. Only one hypothesis is rejected based on the data which is related to Location variable.</span></p>

Data for: Cooperative partnerships of the azure-winged magpie shift from kin to non-kin during colonization of the Tibetan Plateau
<p><span>Cooperative breeding (CB) has recently become hot research topic in the field of evolution of animal behavior. However, while CB-related factors have been identified at the species and individual level separately, few studies have used both large- and fine-scale effects to demonstrate CB-related tradeoffs. Here, we propose a "resource gain-fitness loss" model that addresses this question and applied it to the Tibetan azure-winged magpie during their colonization of a high-altitude (i.e., harsh) habitat. We found that CB occurrence decreased with time after colonization and during the breeding season. The decrease coincided with increasing nest security as the threat of predation decreased. Along the same timeline, the relatedness of helpers to the opposite-sexed breeder shifted from kin to non-kin. Cooperative breeders allocated parentage among their social mate, helpers, and outgroup extra-pair mates, with extra-pair mates obtaining larger reproductive shares over time during colonization, indicating that CB facilitated genetic polygamy in the Tibetan population. Male breeders provisioned less with increased female reproductive skew, whereas female breeders' provisioning rates did not change with male reproductive skew. It appeared that CB occurrence at the population and individual levels were both driven by the same selective force, nest predation, which decreased when other strategies of ensuring nest security were manifested, such as cooperative neighborhoods due to extra-pair copulations. Moreover, our findings suggested the reproductive skew strategy is not a fixed characteristic of the population, but a condition-dependent characteristic of individuals.</span></p>
