<p>Excel files include the raw database and the processed data that led to the quadrat analyses. The &quot;Matrix_raw data&quot; file includes the raw data as downloaded from the server. This data was cleaned and organized for its posterior use. &quot;Quadrat analyzes &quot;file includes all the quadrat analyses resulting in each research question in the paper except question four. Question 4 can be seen in the file &quot;Water analysis_Blaarmeersen.&quot; All excel files come with a &quot;CODE&quot; tab that describes each of the codes used, their meaning, and ways that were calculated where necessary. Two zip files include all the GIS files. The first one includes the GIS files from which &quot;Matrix_raw data&quot; was built from. The second folder includes the resulting maps from the quadrat analyses. In order to visualize them as in the paper, configure the symbology tab at the GIS software in quantile and the categories number, as shown in the paper.</p> <p>The production of the files in the &quot;GIS_Processed data&quot; folder was done via a repetitive line of commands in ArcGIS pro. The same process was followed for each one of the quadrat analysis described in the paper. Combining internal and external motivations in multi-actor governance arrangements for biodiversity and ecosystem services

<p>These files provide the original survey data of the paper on motivations for biodiversity conservation in Europe. This paper analyses the possibility of building a mutually supportive dynamics between internally and<br /> externally motivated behaviour for biodiversity conservation and ecosystem services provision. To this<br /> purpose a face to face survey amongst 169 key actors of 34 highly successful and prominent biodiversity<br /> arrangements in seven EU countries was conducted. The main<br /> finding of the paper is the feasibility of<br /> combining inherently intrinsically motivated behaviours (providing enjoyment, pleasure from<br /> experimentation and learning, aesthetic satisfaction) and internalized extrinsic motivations (related<br /> to the identification with the collective goals of conservation policy) through a common set of governance<br /> features. Successful initiatives that combine internal and external motivations share the following<br /> features: inclusive decision making processes, a broad monitoring by &ldquo;peers&rdquo; beyond the core staff of the<br /> initiatives, and a context that is supportive for the building of autonomous actor competences. These<br /> findings are in line with the psycho-sociological theory of motivation, which shows the importance of a<br /> psycho-social context leading to a subjective perception of autonomy and a sense of competence of the<br /> actors.</p>

<p>Data generated as part of a needs assessment survey conducted as part of ROMOR, a project funded by the Erasmus Plus Programme of the European Union in the period from October 2016 to October 2019. A questionnaire was prepared under the supervision of Palestinian Universities participating in the project. The results of the study will be used to create and develop institutional repositories to store the digital outputs of scientific research at the institutions of higher education in Palestine. The results will be also used to provide the vocational and academic training, and the institutional policies required to manage, organize the use, and populate the prospective repositories. This objective will contribute in promoting the access to and benefit of the results of scientific research in Palestine, and increase its impact at the local and international levels. This questionnaire was distributed to the representative of each institution, who in turn forwarded it to the suitable persons in the institution. Data was collected between January 4th and February 19th 2017. Paper and electronic versions of a questionnaire were prepared in both Arabic and English. The project coordinators at partner PS HEIs were requested to circulate the electronic questionnaire to all researchers and members of academic staff. Explaining non-adoption of electronic government services by citizens. A study among non-users of public e-services in Latvia

Using interviews among users of Citizens´ Service Centres in Latvia, the data is used to analyses the motives of citizens not to use electronic government services but to rely on non-electronic equivalents or on in-person assistance. EAST-WEST and VERTICAL deformation maps of Alto Tiberina Fault supersite: The Post-Proc service in Geohazard Exploitation Platform applied to Sentinel-1 dataset

<p>In the framework of the ESA funded project “MEMpHIS - Multi Scale and Multi Hazard Mapping Space based Solutions ”, the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV) together with TRE-ALTAMIRA, generated the EAST-WEST and VERTICAL deformation maps of Alto Tiberina Fault supersite. The two maps of ground velocity were derived thanks to the adoption of a specific tool named "Post-Proc", implemented in MEMPHIS and with the support of Terradue, that is  able to automatically re-project on the east-west and vertical directions the ascending and descending InSAR time series. In particular, the output refers to the deformation maps calculated by processing with SqueeSAR (TM) method, a large dataset acquired by the ESA Sentinel-1 mission.</p> <p>The Post-Proc tool also calculates the mean accelerations associated to each persistent scatterer in the scenes. Some additional features are also available from this tool:</p> <p>-          Change the coherence threshold for selecting a subset of persistent scatterers</p> <p>-          Activate a geometrical distortion filter to take into account the layover and foreshortening effects</p> <p>-          Change the reference point (position and coherence)</p> <p>-          Choose between two types of accelerations:  2<sup>nd</sup> order model or velocity derivative</p> <p>-          Choose among three different projection: east-west, vertical, and downslope.</p> <p>The present dataset is composed of the EAST-WEST and VERTICAL acceleration maps. The data are in shapefile format: for each record (PS) the topography, velocity, acceleration, and InSAR coherence is reported.</p>

Europe-wide public preferences for plankton-based ecosystem services and marine biodiversity from a series of Deliberative Monetary Valuation workshops

<p>The data were collected as part of the Horizon Europe project BIOcean5D &ndash; Marine Biodiversity Assessment and Prediction Across Spatial, Temporal and Human Scales. The aim of the study was to elicit public preferences for marine biodiversity and ecosystem services, with a particular focus on plankton. This dataset comprises responses from a series of Deliberative Monetary Valuation workshops held across Europe, along with the corresponding supplementary material. The responses encompass a range of data, including socio-demographic information, personal characteristics, beliefs, prior knowledge, preferences derived from a Discrete Choice Experiment, and the associated motivations of each respondent. In total, 15 workshops were conducted between October 2023 and February 2024 in the following locations: Poland (Poznan and Sopot), Italy (Padova and Chioggia), the Basque Country (Vitoria-Gasteiz and Bilbao), Germany (Bremerhaven and Hannover), and France (Rennes and Brest).</p>

Importance rating of various operational aspects related to repair service processes

<h3>Contextual information</h3><p>The survey considers the scenario that repairs are conducted at a repair service centre but not as a repair service at home as, e.g., for washing machines. This allowed to split the sample into four groups, each of it referring to a different portable product to be repaired (bicycle, smartphone, vacuum cleaner and a generic product) in order to examine the generalisability of the results.</p><p>The survey is based on items related to repair operations and provides data concerning the importance of the different items. It considers the scenario that repairs are conducted at a repair service centre but not as a repair service at home as, e.g., for washing machines. The operational aspects concern three different stages of the repair process that can be influenced by the repair company: the prepurchase, service encounter, and post-encounter stage. Furthermore, socio-demographic data is included.</p><h3>Description of the data and file structure</h3><p>The dataset contains 107 aspects identified for potential improvement of repair operations. The importance of operational aspects was rated by survey participants on a 7-point Likert scale (extremely important to not at all important). Three additional questions for quality control (e.g., 'Please tick 1 = extremely important') tested the attention of the participants.&nbsp;</p><p>File 'Translation_of_items.ods' contains the items in German (original version) and English (translated). File 'Description_of_Data.ods' contains a description of the variables.</p><ul><li>We removed all answers with completion time of less than five minutes, as the pre-test showed that this was the minimum time for a focused completion of the survey.</li><li>All data rows with wrongly answered control questions were removed.</li></ul>

Data for: Effective population size mediates the impact of pollination services on pollen limitation

<p>Inadequate pollen receipt limits flowering plant reproduction worldwide. Ecological causes of pollen limitation ('PL'), like pollinator scarcity and low plant abundance, have been a primary focus of research. The genetic diversity of plant populations could impact both quantity and quality components of PL in concert with ecological factors, yet empirical examples are lacking. We evaluated joint effects of ecological factors (flower abundance, pollinator visitation) and genetic effective population size (N<sub>E</sub>) on PL across 13 populations of a common herb. We used a histological approach with 5504 styles from 1137 flowers to separate quantity and quality components of PL, and link these to reproductive output. N<sub>E</sub> and pollinator visitation interacted to shape PL, but N<sub>E</sub> had stronger direct effects. Effectively smaller populations experienced stronger quantity PL, and controlled crosses in a pollinator-free environment revealed that pollen quantity was an intrinsic population-level attribute that increased with N<sub>E</sub>. Pollinator visitation enhanced pollen quality, but only in effectively larger populations. Quantity and quality PL negatively impacted fruit and seed set, respectively.<em> </em>Results highlight that PL is dictated by plant population genetic diversity in addition to commonly evaluated ecological factors.<strong> </strong>Efforts to support pollinators will only enhance plant reproduction in genetically diverse plant populations.</p>

These methods, neural networks in particular, are often complex and require a huge corpus of training data. Moreover, because most of the network traffic is being encrypted, the traditional deep-packet-inspecting (DPI) solutions are becoming obsolete, and there is an urgent need for modern classification methods capable of analyzing encrypted traffic. These methods have to forgo the packet's opaque payload and focus on flow statistics and packet metadata sequences like packet sizes, directions, and inter-arrival times. The classification can be further extended with the task of "rejecting" unknown traffic, i.e., the traffic not seen during the training phase. This makes the problem more challenging, and neural networks offer superior performance for tackling this problem.<strong> When the factors of (1) the hardness of classification of encrypted traffic with unknown traffic detection and (2) the neural networks' inherent need for large datasets are combined, the requirement for a rich, large, and up-to-date dataset is even stronger.</strong></p> <p>Therefore, we created a large dataset spanning two weeks, consisting of 141 million network flows, and having 191 fine-grained service labels. The dataset is intended as a benchmark for the task of identification of services in encrypted traffic with the detection of unknown services.</p> <p><strong>Data capture</strong>&nbsp;The data was captured in the flow monitoring infrastructure of the <a href="https://www.cesnet.cz">CESNET2</a>&nbsp;network. The capturing was done for two weeks between 4.10.2021 and 17.10.2021. The AFFECT-HRI data set: physiological data for affective computing in human-robot interaction with anthropomorphic service robots

<p>We provide a comprehensive data set <strong>AFFECT-HRI </strong>containing physiological data labeled with human affect (i.e., mood and emotion) gathered during an empirical study consisting of a complex human-robot interaction (HRI). A realistic retail scenario served as an experimental environment. In prior research, we showed the necessity to combine the expertise of the research fields of psychology, computer science, and law in the design of a responsible human-centered HRI. Therefore, we implemented five conditions (neutral, transparency, liability, moral, and immoral) covering the perspectives from these three research fields and used two different anthropomorphic service robots. Our study followed a multi-method approach, resulting in a data set containing and combining objective physiological sensor data with subjective human-affect assessments.&nbsp;Additionally, the data set includes insights from 146 participants regarding affect, demographics, and socio-technical questionnaire ratings, as well as robot gestures and robot speech. Our study can be split into three scenes: a consultation regarding products, a request for sensitive personal information while opening a customer account, and a successful or failing handover when buying a mold remover. Thus, this data set offers for the first time the possibility to prove established or develop new emotion recognition methods and technological capabilities for HRI. Further, our data set provides the possibility to combine affective computing with research about robot behavior (gestures, speech, and handover), liability (questionnaire), transparency (questionnaire), and psychological aspects, allowing an encompassing, human-centered view of HRI.</p> <p>The detailed data descriptor has been published in Nature Scientific Data.
