XFP-036 Harpoon Fragment, Sanak Island, Alaska
Harpoon Fragment, 1st Millenium BCE, Sanak Island, Alaska XFP-036-13 XFP-036 is a multi-component site on a small hill in NE Harbor, Sanak Island, Alaska. It consists of several stratigraphic layers dating between 900 and 200 BCE, and perhaps some materials in the range of 650-800 CE. These artifacts were scanned with either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Processed in Geomagic or Polyworks. 4-8 photos were used for texture in Geomagic Wrap. The Sanak Island artifacts are presented as a result of the research conducted under grants NSF 0326584, NSF 0508101, NSF 1139266, NSF 1321411. H. Maschner, Principal Investigator. There are 52 depression, 10 of which are lare nucleus-satellite lineage houses. It dates 1450-1650 CE. There is also a Historic cabin. This is attached to the late deposit at XFP-111. Stamped jar fragment from Calatrava la Vieja, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. Islamic almohad period (1195-1212 CE). This artifact was found in the 2009 excavations in the south-east sector of the medina, next to the western wall of the alcázar. As usual during the almohad period in al-Andalus for these kind of vessels, this container was decorated with printed stamps, in this case with geometric motifs. Catalog No. 09 26 872 1.
