Student engagement in a flipped undergraduate medical classroom to measure optimal video-based lecture length

Purpose: to determine the optimal length of video-based lectures for undergraduate medical students in a flipped classroom environment, considering not only audience retention (AR) but also other complementary aspects.

Methods: a total of 173 videos were used across three consecutive courses. The outcome variables included the percentage of video viewing, viewing index, AR percentage, early dropout percentage, percentage of students who did not access the clip, and percentage of students answering the questions embedded in the clips. Information was obtained from the own platform at the end of each course. All the outcome variables were considered a function of the video length over or under different cut-off points.

Optimization of an ex vivo gene transfer to the hamstrings tendons muscle remnants: potential for genetic enhancement of bone healing

Human muscle tissue samples obtained from 31 patients was used in this in vitro analytical and experimental study. To optimize transduction protocol, samples from 28 patients were transduced with the adenoviral vector carrying firefly luciferase cDNA (Ad.luc) using different doses, times of transduction and addition of positive ions for transduction enhancement. The optimized protocol was further tested on muscle samples from 3 new patients, which were transduced with Ad.BMP-2. Released bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2) levels in osteogenic medium were measured every 3 days during the period of 21 days. Expression of osteogenic markers was at day 14 and 21. After 21 days of cultivation, muscle tissue was prepared for immunohistochemical staining for collagen type I (COL-I).

Record Linkage Evaluation and Optimization of the Mainzelliste Pseudonymization Service

synthetically generated person related datasets used in the evaluation of linkage quality and runtime of the Mainzelliste. To generate person records we used the established GeCo data generator modified with small extensions such as including look-up files for German names in addition to English names. A generated dataset consists of two subsets, org and dup, to be compared witheach other. The duplicate records can contain data errors (e.g., different
but similarly sounding letters, OCR errors or typos) to simulate reduced data quality, making matching more
challenging.

Dataset for optimal Wind+Hydrogen+Other+Battery+Solar (WHOBS) electricity systems for European countries

Data outputs from optimisation of Wind+Hydrogen+Other+Battery+Solar (WHOBS) electricity systems for European countries.

Input data and code can be found here:

https://github.com/PyPSA/WHOBS

The summary of the results with metadata can be found here:

https://github.com/PyPSA/WHOBS/tree/master/results-181002

if you don't want to download 6 GB.

To load the data, install PyPSA and do e.g. for Germany (DE) in 2030:

network = pypsa.Network("DE-2030.nc")

Note that in these files, in some hours batteries discharge and charge at the same time. This is because the model wants to dump energy and this behaviour has the same cost and effect as curtailing wind and solar. In the latest version of the github code, wind and solar have tiny marginal costs (0.02 and 0.01 EUR/MWh respectively) to prevent this behaviour. With these costs, curtailment is preferred.

Experimental data from the paper "Subset-Saturated Cost Partitioning for Optimal Classical Planning"

The data set contains the raw experiment data, parsed values and basic reports for the experiments in the paper. For each experiment there are two directories. The first directory contains the raw data of all experiment runs. The code directories and benchmark files have been removed to avoid duplication and save space. The second directory (*-eval) contains a "properties" file with all parsed values and an HTML report.
