UAS dataset for Crop Water Stress Index computation and Triangle Method applications

This dataset is related with a field campaigns carried out on a tangerine field located near Palermo (Sicily), within the Harmonious COST action CA16219 - Harmonization of UAS techniques for agricultural and natural ecosystems monitoring-, activities framework. The general aim was to acquire UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) remotely sensed imagery to detect the vegetation stress status. A multispectral camera (RIKOLA) and a thermal one (FLIR) were used. The images are already georeferenced with 3.7 cm pixel size. The dataset could be used to compute the Crop Water Stress Index and to compute the moisture status of the field by means of a combined use of the optical and thermal images. The dataset includes meteo data registered by a meteo station nearby the site.

Improved boundary conditions for coupled geospace models: an application in modeling spacecraft surface charging environment

These are simulation results from running the RAM-SCB model coupled with the BATS-R-US model via the Space Weather Modeling Framework (SWMF). Two simulations are conducted. One named as "Simulation I" contains simulation outputs from using the traditional outer boundary conditions for the RAM-SCB (i.e., assuming a Kappa distribution with MHD parameters obtained from the BATS-R-US model). The other one named as "Simulation II" contains simulation output from using the new outer boundary conditions for the RAM-SCB (i.e., combining the Denton's empirical electron flux distribution (E<40 keV) with the MHD-parameterized Kappa distribution).

In "simulation_data.zip", three types of simulation results are included:

"BC_simulation_?.zip": the outer boundary conditions of the electron flux at 6.5 Re at five different times (hour=6, 7, 10, 14, 19)

"ram_e_d20130317_flux_simulation_?.zip": the differential electron flux in the equatorial plane within 6.5 Re during the March 17, 2013 event

"RBSPB20130317.nc": the differential electron flux, and other parameters (ion flux, magnetic fields) along the RBSP-B trajectory.

In "simulation20180410_alongRBSPa.zip", model results during the storm of 2018/04/10 are saved, including the differential electron flux and other parameters (ion flux, magnetic fields) along the RBSP-A trajectory. Both types of simulations are conducted.

In "simulation20180826_alongRBSPa.zip", model results during the storm of 2018/08/25-26 are saved, including the differential electron flux, and other parameters (ion flux, magnetic fields) along the RBSP-A trajectory. A Collection of Event Logs of Blockchain-based Applications

A set of event logs of 101 blockchain-based applications (DApps). For each DApp, there are two event log files. The first one is a raw version where data is encoded by blockchain. The second file is a decoded version where data is decoded into a human-readable format. If a DApp has multiple versions on different blockchain networks, then there are two event log files (encoded and decoded) for each version. In addition, the event registry file includes a comprehensive list of event names and their corresponding signatures obtained from contract ABIs of the 101 DApps.

Spectral tuning of biotemplated ZnO photonic nanoarchitectures for photocatalytic applications

The photocatalytic activity of a flat surface can be increased by micro- and nanostructuring the interface to increase the area of the contact surface between the photocatalyst and the solute, moreover, optimize charge carrier transfer. Further enhancement can be achieved by using photonic nanostructures, which exhibit photonic band gap (PBG). Structurally colored butterfly wings offer a rich "library" of PBGs in the visible spectral range which can be used as naturally tuned sample sets for biotemplating. We used conformal atomic layer deposition (ALD) of ZnO on the wings of various butterfly species (Arhopala asopia, Hypochrysops polycletus, Morpho sulkowskyi, Polyommatus icarus) possessing structural color extending from the near UV to the blue wavelength range, to test the effects arising from the nanostructured surfaces and from the presence of different types of PBGs. Aqueous solutions of rhodamine B were used to test the enhancement of photocatalytic activity that was found for all ZnO coated butterfly wings. The best reaction rate of decomposing rhodamine B when illuminated with visible light was found in 15 nm ZnO coated M. sulkowskyi wing the reflectance of which had the highest overlap with the absorption band of the dye and had the highest reflectance intensity.

FIGURE 17 in Taxonomic applications of the esophageal flapper valve in Bairdoppilata and Glyptobairdia (Bairdiidae, Ostracoda), with comments on anatomy, ontogeny, and geography

FIGURE 17. Glyptobairdia coronata (Brady). H:L scatter plot for 290 subfossil specimens from 10 Caribbean localities. Because of extreme valve asymmetry, two elongate diagonal clusters are evident: the upper cluster includes 180 LV and carapaces, and the lower cluster represents 110 RV. Adult females tend to plot at the upper right of each cluster, while males plot at the lower left. Separate clusters for instars A–1 and A–2 are represented in the Florida assemblages. In general, specimens from Bermuda tend to be larger, and those from Florida smaller, than those at other localities.
