Observed and modelled GPP at 61 eddy covariance sites (2007-2018)
<p>In the frame of the ECOPROPHET project, data was collected from in situ observations, remote-sensing sources and models for 61 sites. The objective of this project was to improve our understanding of ecosystem productivity and the role of vegetation phenology as a key determinant of ecosystem carbon, water and energy balances. More info and publications can be found at http://ecoprophet.meteo.be<br> This dataset contains timeseries of observed GPP, modelled GPP (using 15 models), along with key hydrometeorological variables (shortwave radiation, air temperature, vapor pressure deficit and soil moisture).<br> The timeseries are at daily resolution, covering the period 2007-2018 (depending on the data availability per site).<br> The dataset is partly extracted from:</p> <ul> <li>FLUXNET2015 dataset (Pastorello et al., 2020) and the ICOS ’2018 drought initiative’ dataset (Drought 2018 Team<br> and ICOS Ecosystem Thematic Centre, 2019). A year-round observation of δ13C of dicarboxylic acids and related compounds in fine aerosols: Implications from Central European background site
<p>Data for paper of following abstract:</p> <p>Isotopic analysis of specific compounds in aerosols can be a useful tool when studying atmospheric processes. Here, we present the results of stable carbon isotope ratio (δ13C) measurements performed on a one-year set (n = 96, Sep. 2013 - Aug. 2014) of dicarboxylic acids and related compounds in PM1 at a rural Central European background site, Košetice (Czech Republic).</p> <p>The most 13C enriched acid was oxalic (C2, annual average = -16.6±5.0‰) followed by malonic (C3, avg. = -19.9±6.6‰) and succinic (C4, avg. = -21.3±4.6‰) acids. Thus, δ13C values decreased with an increase in carbon numbers. Azelaic acid (C9, avg. = -27.2±3.6‰) was found to be the least 13C enriched.</p> <p>A comparison of δ13C of dicarboxylic acids from other background sites, especially in Asia, shows similar values to those from the European site. This comparison also showed that C2 is more 13C enriched at background sites than at urban ones. In general, we did not observe significant seasonal differences in δ13C values of dicarboxylic acids at the Central European station. We observed statistically significant differences (p value < 0.05) between winter and summer δ13C values solely for C4, glyoxylic acid (ωC2), glutaric acid (C5) and suberic acid (C8).</p> <p>The only significant correlations between δ13C of C2 and δ13C of C3 were found in spring and summer, suggesting that the oxidation of C3 to C2 is significant in these months with a strong contribution from biogenic aerosols. The strongest season-independent annual correlation was observed in δ13C values between C2 and C4, the two dominant dicarboxylic acids. Therefore, C4 appears to be the main intermediate precursor of C2 throughout the whole year.</p>

Spatially resolved mock observations of stellar kinematics: full radiative transfer treatment of the simulated galaxies of the Auriga project
<p>We present realistic mock spectroscopic observations for state-of-the-art hydrodynamical simulations, using high spectral resolution stellar population models (FSPS) and full radiative transfer treatment with SKIRT. The dataset contains IFS-like spectroscopy of the stellar continuum for 10 (of the 30) galaxies in the Auriga Project at z=0. One galaxy at z=0.8 (Au 6) and another at z=3 (Au 29).</p>
Data for: Saturation of ocean surface wave slopes observed during hurricanes
<div>Observational wave data and modeled wind data to accompany the article "Saturation of ocean surface wave slopes observed during hurricanes," which is currently in revision for publication in Geophysical Research Letters (a preprint is attached as a supplement). The observations include targeted aerial deployments into Hurricane Ian (2022) and opportunistic measurements from the free-drifting Sofar Ocean Spotter global network in Hurricane Fiona (2022). Surface wind speeds are modeled using the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory's Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere Mesoscale Prediction System for Tropical Cyclones (COAMPS-TC). The datasets are table-like and include the following: 1) hourly records of surface wave statistics in the form of scalar energy spectra, directional moments, derived products (including mean square slope), and modeled wind speeds; 2) data to reproduce the binned mean square slopes and model wind speeds presented in the article; 3) data to reproduce the mean energy density versus wind speed plot; and 4) data to reproduce the mean energy density versus wave age plot.</div>
