Data used in the manuscript - A Hierarchical Approach for Evaluating Athlete Performance with an Application in Elite Basketball

The database contains several datasets and files with NBA statistical data spanning four seasons (2015-2016 to 2018-2019). These datasets were procured from the Basketball Reference database (https://www.basketball-reference.com/), a publicly accessible source of NBA data.

The main file, `dat.cleaned.csv`, includes the Win/Loss records for all thirty NBA teams, along with box scores and advanced statistics. The data captured over the four seasons correspond to about 4,920 regular-season games. A distinguishing feature of this dataset is the repeated measurements per player within a team across the seasons. However, it's important to note that these repeated measurements are not independent, necessitating the use of hierarchical modelling to properly handle the data.

Two sets of additional text files (`per_2017.txt`, `per_2018.txt`, `rpm_2017.txt`, `rpm_2018.txt`) provide specific metrics for player performance. The 'PER' files contain the Athlete Efficiency Rating (PER) for the years 2017 and 2018. The 'RPM' files contain the ESPN-developed score called Real Plus-Minus (RPM) for the same years.

However, potential biases or limitations within the datasets should be acknowledged. For instance, the Basketball Reference website might not include data from some matches or may exclude certain variables, potentially affecting the quality and accuracy of the dataset.

Mobile Application Privacy Risk Assessments from User-authored Scenarios

Mobile applications (apps) provide users valuable benefits at the risk of exposing users to privacy harms. Improving privacy in mobile apps faces several challenges, in particular, that many apps are developed by low resourced software development teams, such as end-user programmers or in startups. In addition, privacy risks are primarily known to users, which can make it difficult for developers to prioritize privacy for sensitive data. In this paper, we introduce a novel, lightweight method that allows app developers to elicit scenarios and privacy risk scores from users directly using only an app screenshot. The technique relies on named entity recognition (NER) to identify information types in user-authored scenarios, which are then fed in real-time to a privacy risk survey that users complete. The best-performing NER model predicts information types with a weighted average precision of 0.70 and recall of 0.72, after post-processing to remove false positives. The model was trained on a labeled 300-scenario corpus, and evaluated in an end-to-end evaluation using an additional 203 scenarios yielding 2,338 user-provided privacy risk scores. Finally, we discuss how developers can use the risk scores to prioritize, select and apply privacy design strategies in
the context of four user-authored scenarios.

Dataset: Dendritic nanoarchitecture imparts ZSM-5 zeolite with enhanced adsorption and catalytic performance in energy applications

The development of zeolites possessing dendritic features represents a great opportunity for the design of novel materials with applications in a large variety of fields and, in particular, in the energy sector to afford its transition towards a low carbon system. In the current work, ZSM-5 zeolite showing a dendritic 3D nanoarchitecture has been synthesized by the functionalization of protozeolitic nanounits with an amphiphilic organosilane, which provokes the branched aggregative growth of zeolite embryos.
Dendritic ZSM-5 exhibits outstanding accessibility arising from a highly interconnected network of radially-oriented mesopores (3 – 10 nm) and large cavities (20 – 80 nm), which add to the zeolitic micropores, thus showing a well-defined trimodal pore size distribution. These singular features provide dendritic ZSM-5 with sharply enhanced performance in comparison with nano- and hierarchical reference materials when tested in a number of energy related applications, such as VOCs (toluene) adsorption (improved capacity), plastics (low-density polyethylene) catalytic cracking (boosted activity) and hydrogen production by methane catalytic decomposition (higher activity and deactivation resistance).

Genome-Wide Mutational Signatures of Aristolochic Acid and Its Application as a Screening Tool

The .zip files contain the fastq files for the cell line data published in DOI: 10.1126/scitranslmed.3006086 plus results of analyzing these data. HK2_AA and HK2b-8d2 were exposed to AA (aristolochic acid I), and HK2_ctrl was an unexposed control. The .tsv files are VCF-like files with the mutations found in the exposed cells. spectrum_counts.txt are what are now called "SBS96" spectra -- counts of single base substitutions in the contexts of preceding and following bases. The PDF file has plots of these. (The HUC1 cells that were exposed did not show AA-related mutations.)

Image-based Classification of Intense Radio Bursts from Spectrograms: An Application to Saturn Kilometric Radiation

A catalogue of 4874 of the Low Frequency Extensions (LFEs) of Saturn Kilometric Radiation (SKR) detected by Cassini/RPWS from the beginning of 2004 until mission end in 2017. The LFEs presented in this catalogue were identified using a modified U-Net architecture that applied semantic segmentation to spectrogram images in order to extract the exact frequency-time coordinates of the LFE. The files consist of a .json file with the coordinates of each LFE in Time Frequency Catalogue (TFCat) format (Cecconi et. al. 2023). We also include a .csv file with the start and stop times of each LFE in the form of python datetime timestamps, with the average predicted probability per LFE as an accompanying column.

Phantom measurement data for 'Complex B1+ mapping with Carr-Purcell spin echoes and its application to electrical properties tomography', Iyyakkunnel et al. (2022)

This dataset contains the phantom measurement data used in the published article Iyyakkunnel et al., 'Complex B1+ mapping with Carr-Purcell spin echoes and its application to electrical properties tomography', Magn Reson Med. 2022;87:1250–1260 (doi: 10.1002/mrm.29020). The acquisitions were made with a 3 T MRI system (Magnetom Prisma; Siemens Healthcare, Erlangen, Germany) using the body coil for transmission and the a 20-channel head and neck coil for reception. Phase images from multichannel coil data were reconstructed using the manufacturer’s “adaptive coil combine” method. Magnitude measurements for B1 reconstruction using actucal flip angle imaging (AFI) is also included. Phantom scans were also performed with a 1H/23Na transmit/receive birdcage coil (RAPID Biomedical, Rimpar, Germany) for the Supporting Information Figure S1. The data includes the magnitude and phase measurements for the suggested Carr Purcell spin echo sequence with 10 echoes (in dicom (.dcm) format). For further measurement details, please refer to the mentioned original article.

Machine Learning Applications in Marketing: Literature Review and Research Agenda

Currently, machine learning applications in marketing allow to optimize strategies, personalize experiences and improve decision making. However, there are still several research gaps, so the objective is to examine the research trends in the use of machine learning in marketing. A bibliometric analysis is proposed to assess the current scientific activity, following the parameters established by PRISMA-2020. Machine learning applications in marketing have experienced steady growth and increased attention in the academic community. Key references, such as Miklosik and Evans, and prominent journals, such as IEEE Access and Journal of Business Research, have been identified. A thematic evolution towards big data and digital marketing is observed, and thematic clusters such as "digital marketing", "interpretation", "prediction", and "healthcare" stand out. These findings demonstrate the continued importance and research potential of this evolving field.

COI and 18S metabarcoding data from Hidden Lake (Banff National Park, Canada) over two rotenone applications between 2018 and 2020.
Water samples were taken in Hidden Lake at five different time points around two rotenone applications: (i) five weeks prior to the first rotenone application, on July 12 2018; (ii) approximately three weeks after the first application of rotenone, on 7 September 2018; (iii) approximately 10 months after the first rotenone application, on 10 July 2019; (iv) four weeks following the final treatment of rotenone on the 17 September 2019; and (v) one year after the final rotenone treatment, on 19 August 2020. For each time point there is a pelagic, a littoral and a profundal sample. COI and 18S metabarcoding methods were used to produce community data. The objective of this study was to assess the non-target effect of rotenone application (in summer 2018 and 2019) on aquatic communities (i.e. phytoplankton, fungi, zooplankton and benthic macroinvertebrates).
Brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) cyt b qPCR data from Hidden Lake (Banff National Park, Canada) over two rotenone applications between 2018 and 2020.
Water samples were taken in Hidden Lake at five different time points around two rotenone applications: (i) five weeks prior to the first rotenone application, on July 12 2018; (ii) approximately three weeks after the first application of rotenone, on 7 September 2018; (iii) approximately 10 months after the first rotenone application, on 10 July 2019; and (iv) one year after the final rotenone treatment, on 19 August 2020. For each time point, four pelagic and four littoral water samples were taken from Hidden Lake, as well as 8 to 13 water samples from Hidden Creek and Coral Creek for a total of 16 to 21 samples per time point. Quantitative PCR (qPCR) method was used to produce brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) cytochrome b copy number for each sample. The objective of this study was use eDNA to assess the efficacy of invasive brook trout removal using rotenone.
