Characterization of the anti-spike IgG immune response to COVID-19 vaccines in people with a wide variety of immunodeficiencies
<p>Participants submitted saliva using the OME-505 collection device (OMNIgene Oral, Ottawa, Canada) every two weeks from vaccination through six months post-dose 3 to detect breakthrough SARS-CoV-2 infections. Viral RNA was extracted using the NucliSENS easyMag automated extraction system from 200ul of saliva in stabilizing solution and eluted in a total volume of 50ul. First strand cDNA synthesis was performed from 5ul of eluted RNA using SuperScript IV VILO Master Mix (Thermo Fisher). Positive specimens were then sequenced. Multiplex tiled amplicon libraries were prepared using the Midnight panel and Rapid barcoding kit RBK-004 (Oxford Nanopore technologies) using previously published protocol. Twelve sample pooled libraries were sequenced on a GridION X5 nanopore sequencer using Flongle adapters. After sequencing, raw data were processed using interARTIC to generate consensus sequences and variant calls. SARS-CoV-2<strong> </strong>lineages were determined using these consensus sequences and the NextClade and Pangolin platforms.</p>

<p>We have publicly released the anonymized "new_release_stream.csv" dataset from the music streaming platform Deezer. This dataset is described in detail in the article titled "Ex2Vec: Characterizing Users and Items from the Mere Exposure Effect", which was published in the proceedings of the 17th ACM Conference on Recommender Systems (RecSys 2023).</p> <p>Each row in the dataset contains an anonymized user and item identifier, a reference timestamp in seconds (measured from the first consumption in the dataset), and a binary value "y". All-inorganic micrometric CsPbBr3:Yb3+ powder as a multifunctional material for photovoltaics and optical thermometry: structural and optical characterization
<p>Halide perovskites have been studied very intensively by researchers during the last decade. Development of these materials has improved their unique optoelectrical properties reaching even higher standards making them promising candidates for photovoltaic applications. It should be noted that most inorganic halide perovskites obtained to date are synthesized using organic solvents in the form of nanosized colloids. Here, a low-temperature synthesis protocol for the preparation of microcrystalline CsPbBr<sub>3</sub> perovskite powder doped with Yb<sup>3+</sup> ions is proposed. The structural and photoluminescence features of the studied material have been thoroughly investigated and described. It turned out that the excitation of the CsPbBr<sub>3</sub>:Yb<sup>3+</sup> perovskite with a 375 nm wavelength leads to spontaneous luminescence of excitons and Yb<sup>3+ </sup>ions. Hence, the use of CsPbBr<sub>3</sub>:Yb<sup>3+</sup> as a luminescent thermometer or an additional absorbing layer on a solar cell surface is possible. The latter application may result in an increase in the conversion efficiency of the cell. In order to verify this, such a layer was prepared and installed on a commercial silicon solar cell. Its photovoltaic properties have been investigated by the measurements of current-voltage characteristics with 1-sun illumination and spectral characteristics of external quantum efficiency.</p>
Geochemical characterization of mineral particulate aggregates and associated biomass collected in boreholes at the Soudan Underground Mine State Park, Soudan, MN, USA.
Mineral and biological samples were collected from boreholes on the 27th level of the Soudan Underground Mine State Park, Soudan, MN, USA. These samples were characterized in order to describe the biogeochemical cycling of iron and sulfur in the crustal regions accessed by the mine's boreholes as well as the microbial communities supported by and responsible for that biogeochemical cycling. The mineral samples were characterized through X-ray diffraction and Fe XANES, the microbial biomass associated with the mineral aggregates was characterized through C XANES, and the microbial community was characterized through the assembly of metagenomes.
Cold-air pooling characterization and forest composition, New England, USA
This dataset corresponds to a project investigating whether cold-air pooling influences forest composition and function. The data include hourly sub-canopy air temperatures (measured continuously via ibuttons) and forest forest composition data for 48 plots along 9 transects in 3 sites across New England, USA. The temperature data also include surface lapse rates and temperature gradients across transects, as well as a designation indicating the presence or absence of a temperature inversion. We found that sites with the most frequent temperature inversions also displayed vegetation inversions across slopes, with more cold-adapted species at low instead of high elevations.

This dataset contains dissolved organic matter (DOM) characteristics from surface water samples collected at 100 urban stream locations in the greater Boston, Massachusetts metropolitan area. Samples were collected four times (September 2021, November 2021, April 2022, and July 2022) to capture spatial and seasonal variation in DOM characteristics. Fluorescent optical properties were measured on filtered water samples to understand the chemical composition of DOM. Excitation-Emission Matrices (EEMs) were measured using a Horiba Aqualog spectrometer. DOM characteristics were quantified using both standard fluorescence and absorbance metrics as well as through parallel factor (PARAFAC) analysis. These data were collected as part of the Carbon in Urban Rivers Biogeochemistry (CURB) Project. Detailed field data and site data are published separately and can be linked using the “curbid” and “synoptic_event” columns in each dataset.
Dissolved organic matter characterization for seasonal synoptic sampling of 100 urban streams in Miami, Florida (USA) from 2021-2022
This dataset contains dissolved organic matter (DOM) characteristics from surface water samples collected at 100 urban stream and canal locations in the greater Miami, Florida metropolitan area. Samples were collected five times across different seasons to capture spatial and seasonal variation in DOC concentration. These events include the wet seasons of 2021 and 2022, as well as the dry season of 2022, specifically: Summer 2021 (Wet; July 8 to July 27), Fall 2021 (Wet; September 27 to October 7), Winter 2022 (Dry; January 3 to January 13), Spring 2022 (Dry; April 7 to April 23), and Summer 2022 (Wet; June 1 to June 13). Fluorescent optical properties were measured on filtered water samples to understand the chemical composition of DOM. Excitation-Emission Matrices (EEMs) were measured using a Horiba Aqualog spectrometer. DOM characteristics were quantified using both standard fluorescence and absorbance metrics as well as through parallel factor (PARAFAC) analysis. Age structure, developmental pathways, and fire regime characterization of Douglas-fir/western hemlock forests in the central western Cascades of Oregon
These data are the raw forest stand- and age-structure data from 124 stands in the central western Cascades of Oregon used to construct a conceptual model of stand development under the mixed-severity fire regime that has operated extensively in this region.

Burned and unburned moist acidic tundra sites used to estimate C and N loss from the Anaktuvuk River Fire (2007). These sites were sampled in summer of 2008. Unburned sites were used to develop a method for estimating soil organic layer depth and plant biomass, and for determining the characteristics of unburned soil organic layers. In burned sites, we characterized residual organic soils and used biometric measurements of tussocks to reconstruct pre-fire soil organic layer depth. Together, these measurements were used to reconstruct pre-fire soil and plant carbon and nitrogen pools and estimate ecosystem losses of these elements during the fire.
Operational taxonomic units characterizing fungal communitties associated with resprouting Betula nana shrubs sampled across a fire-severity gradient in the Anaktuvuk River Fire burn scar, 2010
The dataset contains fungal community data from a sampling campaign in 2009, two growing seasons after the Anaktuvuk River Fire. We used molecular tools, including ARISA and fungal ITS sequencing, to characterize the mycorrhizal communities on resprouting Betula nana shrubs across a fire-severity gradient. Summarized data can be viewed by site and provide information on richness and abundance of basidiomycetes and ascomycetes andChao1 and MaoTau estimators of richness. OTU data are provided for each shrub sampled in the study.
