Dataset of ICITS'24 - article "Ethics and AI in Higher Education: A Study on Students' Perceptions"
<p>This dataset encompasses responses from first-year undergraduate students enrolled in an ICT program at Fluminense Federal University. The survey was completed by 61 students via an online platform between June 28th and July 4th, 2023. The findings were subsequently published in an article titled "<strong>Ethics and AI in Higher Education: A Study on Students' Perceptions</strong>" presented at the ICITS'24 conference.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Article abstract</strong>:This initial study investigates the complex ethical concerns surrounding the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, with a particular focus on undergraduate students' perceptions of AI tools in their academic efforts. A notable issue is the educational application of these tools, coupled with a pressing need for comprehensive public policies that ensure ethics and privacy are protected. Through qualitative research involving 61 students in an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) course, we explored the teaching of ethics related to the use of AI tools in an academic context. Our findings reveal a tendency among students to favor commercial AI tools that are not tailored for educational use, pointing to a potential shortfall in the educational AI domain. This study underscores the importance of promoting critical thinking and the responsible use of AI tools in academic settings. However, it is crucial to conduct further research with university students and instructors to refine and improve educational frameworks utilizing AI tools.</p>

Ethical Requirements in the Age of Artificial Intelligence - Supplementary material
<p><strong>Context</strong>: Software developers and users are growing concerned about the ethical use of software, especially with Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this context, we investigated how ethical requirements can be elicited and incorporated into software development. <strong>Problem</strong>: The challenge is identifying and defining effective methods for eliciting and managing ethical requirements in software development. <strong>Solution</strong>: We conducted a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to identify techniques, methods, processes, frameworks, and tools for eliciting, analyzing, and specifying ethical requirements. <strong>IS Theory</strong>: We explore the application of theories related to requirements engineering, ethics in technology, and data governance. It focuses, in particular, on ensuring that information systems comply with ethical and legal principles from the beginning of the development cycle. <strong>Method</strong>: Following the Kitchenham and Charters protocol, we conducted an SLR with stages of planning, conducting, and reporting the results. <strong>Summarization of Results</strong>: We have identified 46 primary studies. These studies address different approaches to eliciting ethical requirements, including techniques based on user stories, analysis of ethical guidelines, specific frameworks such as ECCOLA, and methods such as interviews and modeling. <strong>Contributions and Impact on the IS area</strong>: The report contributes to the field by consolidating existing practices in the literature regarding ethical requirements. It provides a comprehensive overview of the techniques and tools available for integrating ethical considerations into software systems and identifies gaps and opportunities for future research. The study significantly impacts the IS field by providing practical and theoretical guidelines for eliciting ethical requirements in information systems.</p>

<p>During the Sabai Webinar Series 18, hosted by the Shwetaungthagathu Reform Initiative Centre (SRIc), experts, including Tin Shine Aung (SRIc Director), Shar Thae Hoy (Founder of CALM), and Theint Theint Myat (Founder of Handmake By Theint), explored the essence of ethical and sustainable fashion. Ethical Knowledge: The Good Book Confronts A Changing World
<p>The ethical knowledge of how the Good Book confronts the changing world facilitates knowledge processes, supports purposive moral action, and possesses ethical dissent. Ethicality, fair behavior, and trust are the essence of the knowledge culture of an organization, the church inclusive. The success of ethical knowledge in a religious setting which has observed the ever-increasing confrontation of the changing world by the Holy Writ may to a large extent depend on knowledge management initiatives and its features, but its sustainability depends on following adequate ethical practices. The churches managed by leaders who value ethical principles and have ethical orientations create an opportunity for congregants and other stakeholders to contribute to knowledge creation and knowledge acquisition. An ecclesiastical ethical leadership also creates trust, fairness, and transparency which encourages knowledge sharing and transfer. The church’s top management led by an ethical leader plays a pivotal role in knowledge creation by encouraging all parties involved to contribute to knowledge creation. Consequently, this paper seeks to integrate ethical knowledge and the non-changeability of the Good Book in a world-changing on a fast lane through an assessment of teleological and deontological ethical views.</p>

Mining the first 100 days: Human and data ethics in Twitter research
<p>This dataset consists of tweet identifiers for tweets harvested between November 28, 2016, following the election of Donald Trump through the end of the first 100 days of his administration. Data collection ended May 1, 2017.</p> <p>Tweets were harvested using multiple methods described below. The total dataset consists of 218,273,152 tweets. Because of the different methods used to harvest tweets, there may be some duplication.</p>
