Point cloud data, clean and uniform to easy visualization. Site Description The Annaberg Sugar Plantation in the Virgin Islands is part of one of the largest historic migrations of people and resources throughout the world. For centuries, the Virgin Islands was a crossroads for indigenous peoples, colonial powers, and the transatlantic slave trade. The plantation structures that the National Park Service preserves on the site today demonstrate the agricultural success of the Danish Colonial era, but also its human cost. A 40-foot high windmill constructed with sails to direct the wind was state of the art at the time of its completion in 1805. AssemblyNetV2: A Dataset for Predicting Exploded Views Through Point Clouds

<p>AssemblyNetV2 contains two datasets: the original AssemblyNet dataset, resampled with face normals, and a novel dataset for predicting whether parts can be disassembled, also containing both points and normals. The original AssemblyNet dataset contains 5420 samples while the new dataset contains 16337 samples of 512-point and 1024-point point clouds of mixed industrial assemblies and LEGO models.</p> <p>The new dataset for part removal contains annotations for binary classification of whether a part can be removed from an assembly. The intended use case of the two datasets is to predict exploded views of assemblies by iteratively removing parts in the predicted directions.</p>

Point clouds and QSM for 598 individually scanned tree branches to support "Terrestrial laser scanning to reconstruct branch architecture from harvested branches"

<p>A collection of 598 harvested branches scanned in high resolution using terrestrial LiDAR. Branches were collected from GEM forest plots in Malaysia, Australia and Brazil.</p> <p>Branch nomenclature is <em>PLOT</em>-<em>TREE</em>-B<em>N</em>&lt;S or SH&gt; where <em>PLOT </em>codes can be found in the manuscript, <em>N</em> refers to the sample number of branch harvested from a tree, and S and SH refer to sun or shade branch respectivetly.</p> <p>For each branch there are 3 files:&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Unfiltered point clouds (raw_pc) are clipped from the original data only and have had no post processing applied</li> <li>Filtered point clouds (filtered_pc) have been filtered according to the steps in the manuscript</li> <li>QSMs were produced using <em>treegraph&nbsp;</em>(<a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5226212">https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5226212</a>)</li> </ul> <p>Polygon File Format&nbsp;(.ply) files can be viewed in software such as CloudCompare.</p> <p>Full details of methods can be found in:&nbsp;Wilkes,&nbsp;P.,&nbsp;Shenkin,&nbsp;A.,&nbsp;Disney,&nbsp;M.,&nbsp;Malhi,&nbsp;Y.,&nbsp;Bentley,&nbsp;L. Mapping scrub vegetation cover from photogrammetric point-clouds

<p>This dataset is derived from photogrammetric point cloud models of UAV imagery. It includes the Above ground models of vegetation as well as the isolated scrub vegetation.</p> <p>We illustrate the method with two case studies from the UK. The scrub cover at Daneway Banks, a calcareous grassland site in Gloucestershire was calculated at 21.8% of the site. The scrub cover at Flat Holm Island, a maritime grassland in the Severn Estuary was calculated at 7%. This approach enabled the scrub layer to be readily measured and if required, modelled to provide a visual guide of what a projected management objective would look like. This approach provides a new tool in reserve management, enabling habitat management strategies to be informed, and progress towards objectives monitored.</p>

They contain some of the earliest known cave paintings in the Horn of Africa. Fort San Lorenzo,Panama Point cloud Lidar

3D Point cloud, from Lidar data and uniform to 1M points. The data of Fort San Lorenzo was collected in March 2013 by Mr. Daryl Johnson, Founder of Summit Engineering and Design in Ferndale, Washington. The data was donated to CyArk who archived the data and provided a copy to the site. Located on the west bank of the modern Panama Canal, Fort San Lorenzo is an outstanding example of Spanish Colonial military architecture. Construction of the structure was started in 1595 upon the orders of King Philip the Second of Spain to protect the mouth of the Chagres River, a strategic waterway connecting the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Unstan Neolithic Cairn, Orkney (Point Cloud)

Unstan (or Onston) is an early Neolithic (3500-3200 BC) 'Orkney-Cromarty' stalled round cairn located close to the Loch of Stenness, Mainland, Orkney. This tomb was used to buried many individuals, with bodies placed between the the upright stones that form 'stalls'. This tomb was excavated in 1884 by Robert S. Clouston, the son of Rev Dr Charles Clouston, a well known antiquarian. In a charcoal-rich black layer on the floor, Clouston found several crouched burials, animal bones, fragments of many pottery vessels and flints, the latter including 4 fine leaf arrowheads. The distinctive style of pottery found in this tomb has come to be known as 'Unstan Bowl'. Tikal Guatemala Point cloud

The ancient Mayan city of Tikal is located deep in the heart of Guatemala's El Petén rain forest, within Tikal National Park. The ancient city, covering an area greater than 16 sq km (6.2 sq mi), is the largest known ancient Maya city-complex dating to the Classic period. It is estimated to have had a peak population of 100,000 to 200,000 with an urban density of 600 to 700 people per square kilometer. During the Classic Maya period from 200 to 850 CE, Tikal flourished, becoming the preeminent political, economic, and military power in the region. Cuween Neolithic Tomb, Orkney (Point Cloud)

Cuween Hill Chambered Cairn, near Finstown, Mainland, Orkney, is a late Neolithic (c.3200-2300 BC) 'Maes Howe'-type tomb. The tomb is located on the side of the hill and the floor is cut into sandstone bedrock. The chambers are constructed from fine dry-stone walling with corbelled roofs. The mound measures c.55 feet in diameter and the main chamber is 8 feet 6 inches tall. The tomb was partly excavated by James Cursiter in 1888 and more extensively investigated by Malcolm M. Charleston in 1901. The tomb contained at least 8 burials and the skulls of 24 dogs. The latter may have been a totemic animal, but they were probably deposited in the Bronze Age rather than the Neolithic. The tomb sites above the Neolithic settlement site of Stonehall, which was excavated by Prof Colin Richards in the 1990s.
