<p>The auto regressive (AR) model has high ability to represent the EEG signal characteristics and form reliable feature sets (Hatamikia, Maghooli, & Nasrabadi, 2014). The AR function computes the coefficients of an AR model of order p on each channel individually. Each sample is obtained from the summation of previous weighted samples. The model order is determined by the number of weights, which are called AR coefficients. The AR model of order p for a zero-mean time series can be written as shown in equation (5). (5) Where p and denotes a zero-mean process with variance i …,p for each channel separately, and concatenate the results to form a feature vector for a window. Because each channel is treated individually, the spatio-temporal information that exists in the time series cannot be directly estimated, which is considered a limitation of this function. There is a built in function in Matlab that can be used directly by passing each IMF separately with the order of the AR model as shown in equation (6).</p>

<p>This dataset corresponds to the PAM50 gene expression profiling of primary tumour samples that were collected as part of the TNT clinical trial (ISRCTN97330959, NCT00532727, CRUK/07/012). NanoString® platform nCounter analysis was performed on the RNA extracts at the Institute of Cancer Research and Royal Marsden Hospital. The manuscript describing the trial outcome is currently under review in Nature Medicine.</p>

<p>At the beginning of each trial (t = 0 s), a fixation cross appeared on the black screen. After two seconds a warning stimulus was given in the form of a beep. From 3 to 4.25s, an arrow (cue stimulus), pointing to the left or right, was shown on the screen. The subject was instructed to imagine a left or right hand movement until the end of the trial, depending on the direction of the arrow. The EEG was sampled and classified on line throughout the session. Between 4.25 and 8s, the classification result was used to give a continuously updated feedback stimulus in the form of a horizontal bar that appeared in the center of the screen. The paradigm is illustrated in fig (2).</p>

<p>This research will shed new light into the bidirectional relationship between acute aerobic exercise, brain and cognition. This is based on the particular role of executive (cognitive) function during exercise. The rationale of our study is that stimulation of the prefrontal cortex that has been repeatedly associated with executive function, would facilitate or impair self-paced aerobic exercise. This would also affect cognitive performance immediately after exercise. We will use a modified flanker’s task as a form of assessing executive function (see below for further details). The flanker’s task implies two different stimuli, one congruent and one incongruent. Relative to “congruent” stimuli, these “incongruent” stimuli are usually accompanied by increased response times (RTs) and decreased accuracy. To stimulate the prefrontal cortex, we use transcranial direct-current stimulation (tDCS). tDCS is able to induce cortical changes by hyperpolarizing (anodal) or depolarizing (cathodal) neuron’s resting membrane potential.<br> Therefore, the hypotheses of this research are:<br> 1) Anodal stimulation (relative to sham and cathodal stimulation) will improve self-paced aerobic exercise and, consequently it will also improve subsequent cognitive performance.<br> 2) Cathodal stimulation (relative to sham and anodal stimulation) will impair self-paced aerobic exercise and subsequent cognitive performance.<br> </p>
STEMForYouth: Trials and Outreach Data
<p>Data collected during the trials implementation of the STEM4youth project from September 2017 to May 2018. </p> <p>Students developed the following STEM4youth sub-courses: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Engineering, Astronomy and Medicine in six European countries: Poland, Greece, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Italy and Spain.</p> <p>Students freely accepted to fill questionnaires before and after carrying out the activities, being conscious that they were part of a research study. The data was collected in paper-based format or computer-based format. In the last case, questionnaires were generated on Google Forms. In addition, a control group was designated in Greece, Czech Republic, Slovenia and Spain to ensure the validity of the results.</p> <p>All participants in the trials signed an informed consent to participate, in agreement with the Spanish Law for Personal Data Protection or similar laws in participant countries. This procedure was approved by the Ethics Committee in each country, and all methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.</p> <p>The questionnaire employed for gathering this data is an amended version of Diego-Mantecón’s (2012) student mathematics-related beliefs instrument. InterTVA. Single-trial beta maps for event-related voice localizer.
<p>The InterTVA dataset has been acquired with two main objectives. First, from a neuroscientific perspective, it aims at studying the inter-individual differences observed in people's ability at performing voice perception and voice identification tasks. Secondly, from a methodological perspective, it should allow benchmarking multi-view machine learning methods. Indeed, it includes several MRI modalities: anatomical MRI, diffusion MRI and several sessions of functional MRI -- one resting state run, one event-related voice localizer run (passive listening of vocal and non-vocal sounds), and four runs during which the subject performed a voice identification task.</p> <p>The present dataset contains a pre-processed version of the data acquired during the event-related voice localizer run. A GLM was performed using one regressor for each of the 144 trials, during each of which the participant was passively listening to a vocal or non-vocal stimulus. We therefore provide 144 beta maps for 39 subjects out of the 40 participants (one was excluded for excessive motion). Continuous Digital Monitoring of Walking Speed in Frail Elderly Patients: Noninterventional Validation Study and Longitudinal Clinical Trial (Data for independent validation study)
<p>Digital technologies and advanced analytics have drastically improved our ability to capture and interpret health relevant data from patients. However, to date, limited data and results have been published detailing real-world patient compliance, demonstrating accuracy in target indications or examining what novel insights and clinical value can be derived. Here we present novel, digital mobility data from two studies: an independent, non-interventional validation study with elderly, naturally slow walking subjects, and a global, multi-site phase IIb clinical trial involving patients with age-related muscle loss and slow walking speed (sarcopenia). Based on these data, we validate the accuracy of a novel algorithm for capturing in-clinic and real-world gait speed in frail, slow-walking adults. We demonstrate the feasibility of continuous monitoring with a wearable inertial sensor in elderly adults in real-world settings, and propose minimum thresholds for compliance required for robust capture of gait behaviors in this population. We also show how simple, inferred contextual information, describing the length of a given walking bout, can explain some of the variation in real-world gait speed, and use this information to demonstrate for the first time a relationship between in-clinic performance and real-world gait speed behavior. This work lays a foundation for exploration of the clinical relevance and value of such measures and is a first step in building a more complete chain of evidence between standardized physical performance assessment, real-world behavior, and subjective perceptions of mobility, independence and health.</p> <p>This dataset contains data collected during the independent validation study: derived data from raw accelerometry data, and summary performance data.</p> <p>The full dataset, including raw accelerometry data, is available here: <a href="https://mueller-et-al-2019.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html">https://mueller-et-al-2019.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html</a></p>

MUTUAL RECOGNITION IN PRISON RULES AND PRE -TRIAL DETENTION AND DETENTION IN EU
<p><span>The purpose of this study is to highlight the important aspects on the creation of a criminal justice section inside prisons, as well as the creation of minimum requirements for jail and detention settings and a uniform set of rights for all EU inmates. The Council of Europe believes that efforts should be taken to improve mutual trust and to more effectively implement the concept of mutual recognition in custody, as stated in the Stockholm Program, which calls for the Council to address detention and related concerns. Among the instruments of mutual recognition of terms of incarceration that may be affected we mention the European Arrest Warrant issued by the Council, the transfer of prisoners, the mutual recognition of alternative sanctions and judicial proceedings, and the European supervision order. Following the analysis and empirical research, the paper summarizes that without mutual trust in detention, the European Union's mutual recognition instruments affecting detention will not work properly, as one Member State is unwilling to recognize and implement a decision taken by the authorities of another Member State. Without greater efforts to improve detention conditions and promote alternatives to detention, it may be difficult to develop closer judicial cooperation between Member States.</span></p>
