MESSENGER E/V/H XRS CALIBRATED (CDR) SPECTRA V1.0

Abstract ======== This data set consists of the MESSENGER XRS calibrated observations, also known as CDRs. Each XRS observation results in four X-ray spectra. When an X-ray interacts with one of the four detectors, a charge or voltage pulse is generated. This signal is converted into one of 2^8 (256) channels, which are correlated to energy. Over a commanded integration time period a histogram of counts as a function of energy (channel number) is recorded. The EDRs are the number of events in each channel of the four detectors accumulated over the integration period. Channels above or below the useful energy range of the detectors are not transmitted. The result is three 244-channel GPC histograms and one 231-channel solar monitor histogram, each of which is designated as a single X-ray spectrum. In addition to the science data, associated instrument parameters are included.

CASSINI V/E/J/S/SS RPWS CALIBRATED LOW RATE FULL RES V1.0

The Cassini Radio and Plasma Wave Science (RPWS) calibrated full resolution data set includes all spectral information calibrated in units of spectral density for the entire Cassini mission. This data set includes calibrated values for each frequency channel for each sensor for all times during the mission including the two Venus flybys, the Earth flyby, the Jupiter flyby, interplanetary cruise, and the entire Saturn tour. Data for this data set are acquired from the RPWS Low Frequency Receiver (LFR), Medium Frequency Receiver (MFR), Medium Frequency Digital Receiver (MFDR) (which can be used to replace MFR band 2 data) and High Frequency Receiver (HFR). Data are presented in a set of tables organized so as to have fixed-length records for ease in data handling. This data set is intended to be the most comprehensive and complete data set included in the Cassini RPWS archive. A browse data set is included with these data which provides for a graphical search of the data using a series of thumbnail and full-sized spectrograms which lead the user to the particular data file(s) of interest. This data set should be among the first used by a user of any of the RPWS archive as it will lead one to information required to search for more detailed or highly specialized products.

EPOXI 103P/HARTLEY2 ENCOUNTER - HRII CALIBRATED SPECTRA V3.0

This dataset contains calibrated, 1.05- to 4.8-micron spectral images of comet 103/P Hartley 2 acquired by the High Resolution Infrared Spectrometer (HRII) from 01 October through 26 November 2010 during the Hartley 2 encounter phase of the EPOXI mission. Version 3.0 includes the application of scaled master dark subtraction for DOY 307 and in scene dark subtraction for DOY 311-313, as well as the use of an average per scan optical bench temperature in the pipeline processing. Version 3 also includes the calibration enhancements implemented in Version 2 of this dataset: a new per-pixel linearity correction treatment and its propagation through the calibration steps (i.e., bad-pixel maps, flat-field file update, revised spectral calibration curve), new mode-dependent master darks, an optimized scaling factor for the master dark, and a refinement in the absolute spectral calibration curve.

ODYSSEY MARS MARIE CALIBRATED DATA V1.0

The MARIE (Martian Radiation Environment Experiment), aboard the 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft, was launched on April 7, 2001, and arrived at Mars on October 24, 2001. Data were collected intermittently during the cruise phase, starting in late April and ending in late July. A problem with MARIE's onboard computer occurred in early August, and the instrument was turned off until early March, 2002, after Odyssey's mapping orbit had been established. Data have been collected from that time to the present without major interruption. Routine minor interruptions of up to 36 hours have occurred during the orbital phase the instrument's data is erased from local storage (after having been downloaded). MARIE is oriented to point in the direction opposite Odyssey's velocity vector. Space radiation is for the most part isotropic, so the orientation of Odyssey is usually not critical and references to external coordinate systems are not a part of the data returned by MARIE. There is one exception to the statement that space radiation is isotropic: During the early stages of solar particle events, there can be directionality in the particle flux.

NEW HORIZONS MVIC PLUTO ENCOUNTER CALIBRATED V3.0

This data set contains Calibrated data taken by the New Horizons Multispectral Visible Imaging Camera instrument during the Pluto encounter mission phase. This is VERSION 3.0 of this data set. This data set contains MVIC observations taken during the the Approach (Jan-Jul, 2015), Encounter, Departure, and Transition mission sub-phases, including flyby observations taken on 14 July, 2015, and departure and calibration data through late October, 2016. This data set completes the Pluto mission phase deliveries for MVIC. This is version 3.0 of this dataset. Changes since version 2.0 include the addition of data downlinked between the end of January, 2016 and the end of October, 2016, completing the delivery of all data covering the Pluto Encounter and subsequent Calibration Campaign. It includes multi- map observations from the Approach phase, observations of the moons, hi- res, full-frame observations from Pluto Encounter and Departure, and ring search observations. There may be some overlap between prior datasets and this dataset, due to only partial, windowed, or lossy data in prior datasets. This dataset also includes functional tests from the Calibration Campaign, including calibration observations of the M6 and M7 clusters, and HD205905. Also, updates were made to the calibration files, documentation, and catalog files. For any data previously delivered as sub-frame windows, this delivery will fill in the image data outside those windows. Changes to the calibration involved only changes to the spectrum-specific calibration constants provided in FITS headers and in PDS labels; the calibrated Data Number values in the calibrated data set, excluding image data outside the sub-frame windows mentioned above, will not be substantively changed.

GALILEO ORBITER AT JUPITER CALIBRATED MAG HIGH RES V1.0

This data set contains high time resolution magnetic field vectors acquired by the Galileo magnetometer (MAG). It includes both satellite flyby and non-flyby data. These data were acquired in order to characterize various portions of the Jovian magnetosphere at high time resolution. The Galileo Magnetospheres Working Group (MWG) collectively acquired high time resolution data for short intervals in order to try and regain some of the magnetospheric science lost due to the low data rates of the phase 2 mission (no high gain antenna) mission. These observations are scattered in Jovian distance, local time, System III longitude, etc. in order to provide some insight into processes that may be active in different regions of the magnetosphere.

NEW HORIZONS LEISA PLUTO ENCOUNTER CALIBRATED V3.0

This data set contains Calibrated data taken by the New Horizons Linear Etalon Imaging Spectral Array instrument during the Pluto encounter mission phase. This is VERSION 3.0 of this data set. This data set contains LEISA observations taken during the the Approach (Jan-Jul, 2015), Encounter, Departure, and Transition mission sub-phases, including flyby observations taken on 14 July, 2015, and departure and calibration data through late October, 2016. This data set completes the Pluto mission phase deliveries for LEISA. This is version 3.0 of this dataset. Changes since version 2.0 include the addition of data downlinked between the end of January, 2016 and the end of October, 2016, completing the delivery of all data covering the Pluto Encounter and subsequent Calibration Campaign. It includes multi- map observations from the Approach phase, observations of the moons, and hi-res departure observations. It also includes functional tests from the Calibration Campaign including scans across the detector of Arcturus, and a second test of the Solar Illumination Assembly. Updates were made to the calibration files, documentation, and catalog files. The data were re-run through the pipeline, which changes the FITS headers of the raw files, but not the FITS data. The exceptions to that are products for which only sub-frame windows were downlinked in previous versions of this data set: those products have been re-downlinked either in full, or all regions outside the previously downloaded windows were downloaded and merged to form full-frame products. In so doing, some LEISA products have more frames downloaded, resulting in a change in the BANDS keyword value in PDS labels. Finally, the updated calibration files cause changes to all of the calibrated data.

BRRISON GROUND CALIBRATION - BIRC RAW DATA V1.0

This is a saved data archive of the Balloon Rapid Response for Comet ISON (BRRISON) mission. This mission was performed by The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) to develop and fly a balloon-borne gondola with a scientific payload for the observation of Comet ISON and other planetary objects, during a one-day flight demonstration in September 2013. The mission was flown on the evening of September 28, 2013, just 11 days after the originally targeted launch date of September 17. Ascent to float altitude lasted about 2 hours. During the very early phase of commissioning, an anomaly occurred that caused the telescope to rapidly retract to the stowed orientation and become stuck in that orientation. Efforts were made to free the telescope to no avail. The anomaly and its cause will not be discussed in this archive. Instead, a full description of the anomaly, its cause, and recommended corrective actions is provided in the 'BRRISON Anomaly Investigation Team Final Report.'
