OLCI/Sentinel-3A L1 Full Resolution Top of Atmosphere Reflectance
The OLCI/Sentinel-3A L1 Full Resolution Top of Atmosphere Reflectance product, S3A_OL_1_EFR is generated from the data aquired by the Ocean and Land Colour Instrument (OLCI) on board European Earth Observation satellite mission, SENTINEL-3. The OLCI is a push-broom imaging spectrometer that measures solar radiation reflected by the Earth at a ground spatial resolution of around 300m, over all surfaces, in 21 spectral bands. OLCI is based on the imaging design of ENVISAT's Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS). It has a 1270km wide swath. For more information about the instrument and the mission, visit "Sentinel Online" at https://sentinel.esa.int/web/sentinel/home. The S3A_OL_1_EFR is a Level-1B product. This is composed of an information package map, called a manifest, 22 measurement data files, and seven annotation data files. The 21 measurement data files (one for each band) consist of Top Of Atmosphere (TOA) radiances, calibrated to geophysical units (W.m-2. sr-1 Micro meter-1), georeferenced onto the Earth's surface, and spatially resampled onto an evenly spaced grid. Seven annotation files provide information on illumination and observation geometry, environment data (meteorological data) and quality and classification flags. Both measurement data files and annotation data files are written in netCDF 4 format. The manifest file is in XML format and contains metadata associated with the instrument and the processing. The S3A_OL_1_EFR is generated in Earth Observation (EO) processing mode and all parameters in this product are provided for each re-gridded pixel on the product image and for each removed pixel. Dissecting Low Atmospheric Pressure Stress: Transcriptome Responses to the Components of Hypobaria in Arabidopsis [Experiment 1]
Controlled hypobaria presents biology with an environment that is never encountered in terrestrial ecology, yet the apparent components of hypobaria are stresses typical of terrestrial ecosystems. High altitude, for example, presents terrestrial hypobaria always with hypoxia as a component stress, since the relative partial pressure of O2 is constant in the atmosphere. Laboratory-controlled hypobaria, however, allows the dissection of pressure effects away from the effects typically associated with altitude, in particular hypoxia, as the partial pressure of O2 can be varied. In this study, whole transcriptomes of plants grown in ambient (97 kPa/pO2 equals 21 kPa) atmospheric conditions were compared to those of plants transferred to five different atmospheres of varying pressure and oxygen composition for 24 h: 50 kPa/pO2 equals 10 kPa, 25 kPa/pO2 equals 5 kPa, 50 kPa/pO2 equals 21 kPa, 25 kPa/pO2 equals 21 kPa, or 97 kPa/pO2 equals 5 kPa. The plants exposed to these environments were 10 day old Arabidopsis seedlings grown vertically on hydrated nutrient plates. In addition, 5 day old plants were also exposed for 24 h to the 50 kPa and ambient environments to evaluate age-dependent responses. The gene expression profiles from roots and shoots showed that the hypobaric response contained more complex gene regulation than simple hypoxia, and that adding back oxygen to normoxic conditions did not completely alleviate gene expression changes in hypobaric responses.

SMMR_ALW_PRABHAKARA data are Special Multichannel Microwave Radiometer (SMMR) Monthly Mean Atmospheric Liquid Water (ALW) data by Prabhakara.The Prabhakara Scanning Multichannel Microwave Radiometer (SMMR) Atmospheric Liquid Water (ALW) files were generated by Dr. Prabhakara Cuddapah at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) using SMMR Antenna Temperatures. A discussion of the SMMR Antenna Temperatures is available from the Langley Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC). Each ALW file contains one month of 3 degree by 5 degree gridded mean liquid water. Each element of data is in units of mg/cm2. The data spans the period from February 1979 to May 1984.
MGS RS: ATMOSPHERIC TEMPERATURE-PRESSURE PROFILES V1.0
This data set contains over 21000 temperature-pressure profiles (TPS files) of the neutral atmosphere derived from Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) radio occultation data. The profiles were previously archived in the MGS-M-RSS-5-SDP-V1.0 data set along with other reduced data products from the MGS Radio Science Team (RST). Here they have been pulled from the original 38 volumes and reorganized in chronological order on a single volume. The profiles themselves have not been modified, and the labels have been edited only to conform with the requirements of the new data set. This set of profiles is accompanied by a single occultation summary file which lists key characteristics of each experiment.
NEW HORIZONS PLUTO ENCOUNTER ATMOSPHERE DATA V1.0
This data set contains derived atmospheric data from the New Horizons mission during the Pluto Encounter mission phase, based on data from the Alice UV imaging spectrograph instrument, the Radio EXperiment instrument, and the LOng Range Reconnaissance Imager instrument. The data set includes a solar spectrum of Pluto and Charon; atmospheric composition on Pluto for N2, CH4, C2H2, C2H4, C2H6, and haze, and the haze brightness profiles; Pluto lower atmospheric temperature and pressure profiles; and temperatures of the diametric and winter pole thermscans of Pluto. This is VERSION 1.0 of this data set.
Lidar Atmospheric Sensing Experiment (LASE) Validation
An extensive validation experiment was conducted in September 1995 from Wallops Island, Virginia, to evaluate the performance of the LASE (Lidar Atmospheric Sensing Experiment) system for the measurement of water vapor profiles under a wide range of atmospheric and solar background conditions. During this experiment, the LASE system was flown on a high-altitude (ER-2) aircraft on ten missions for a total of 60 hours. LASE measurements of tropospheric water vapor were compared with in situ measurements from balloons and aircraft that were flown under the ER-2 and with remote measurements from the ground and from aircraft. A high-altitude aircraft (Lear Jet) was equipped with two in situ hygrometers, and a medium to low altitude aircraft (C-130) had onboard the NASA Langley airborne water vapor DIAL system and two in situ hygrometers. Several radiosondes were launched during each LASE flight, and some of these sondes were part of a concurrent international radiosonde intercomparison campaign sponsored by the World Meteorological Organization. The NASA Goddard Scanning Raman lidar also provided nighttime water vapor profile measurements from the ground. During this field experiment, LASE was also used in a number of atmospheric case studies including measurements of Hurricane Luis, a coastal sea breeze development, a strong cold front, an upper level front, and cirrus clouds.
