Balmorel input data for comparative modelling of CSP + TES and PVS

Description of the dataset

This dataset holds all Balmorel model input data as well as the Balmorel code used for the scenarios of the paper 'Making the sun shine at night: Comparing Concentrating Solar Power and Photovoltaics with battery storage' submitted to 'Energy Sources, Part B: Economics, Planning, and Policy.'

Data format

We provide the data in form of the data folders holding the .inc files for all scenarios as well as the Balmorel model folder containing the GAMS code.

The original Balmorel source code is available under https://github.com/balmorelcommunity/Balmorel under the ISC license. It was adapted in order to include a new technology generating electricity from heat (GETOH). The inputs for this development were kindly supported by DTU and Ea Energy Analyses with previously done works

Passive seismic dataset to "Variable water input controls evolution of the Lesser Antilles volcanic arc" by Cooper et al.

This repository contains supplementary passive seismic datasets to Cooper et al. (2020, Nature). This description serves as the README file for this repository and each component of this dataset is described below.

1. station_metadata.tar.gz

This compressed tar.gz file contains directories for each seismic network comprising a single STATIONXML file with the metadata for all stations in that network. The stationxml files can be read using ObsPy's read_inventory module.

This file can be uncompressed using the following command:

tar -xvzf station_metadata.tar.gz

2. local_earthquake_catalog_2016-2017_BieEtAl.xml
Raw local earthquake catalogue containing magnitudes and hypocentre locations from Bie et al. (2019; doi: 10.1785/0220190147). This paper should also be cited when using this dataset. This file is in QUAKEML format and can be read using ObsPy's read_events module.

Chesapeake Bay Model, Multi-River and Coastal Ocean tracer, CODE, Input Files, Scripts

These data supplement the article: Du, J. and J. Shen, Transport of riverine material from multiple rivers in the Chesapeake Bay: the important control from the estuarine circulation. under review at the Journal Of Geophysical Research: Biogeoscience

contact: Jiabi Du, jiabi@vims.edu

Below are descriptions of the data files included here:

1. CODE.zip

-EFDC code for Chesapeake Bay Model

- both hydro model and tracer release model are included

- hydro model is run separately for each year.
