Training and testing labelled dataset of human faces for different indoor visual comfort and glare visual discomfort situations - videos
<p>The video dataset is generated from experimental tests on 23 different participants and includes a certain variety in characteristics: age, gender, face feature, glasses, etc. The original dataset was generated from experimental tests on 24 different participants but all the data of one of the participants was entirely excluded as this participant did not want his/her data to be publically available.</p> <p>After synchronization of the video footages with the answers of the participants regarding their visual discomfort at the different phases of the experiment to label the video dataset, the video footages are resampled at a 0.5 FPS rate, and the YOLOFace extraction algorithm is used to crop the image down to the face of the occupants only and generate the labelled image dataset. </p>

<p>This record contains raw data related to article "Robotic surgery, video-assisted thoracic surgery, and open surgery for early stage lung cancer comparison of costs and outcomes at a single institute"</p> <p>Background:</p> <p>Robotic surgery is increasingly used to resect lung cancer. However costs are high. We compared costs and outcomes for robotic surgery, video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), and open surgery, to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).</p> <p>Methods:</p> <p>We retrospectively assessed 103 consecutive patients given lobectomy or segmentectomy for clinical stage I or II NSCLC. Three surgeons could choose VATS or open, the fourth could choose between all three techniques. Between-group differences were assessed by Fisher's exact, two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test. P values <0.05 were considered significant.</p> <p>Results:</p> <p>Twenty-three patients were treated by robot, 41 by VATS, and 39 by open surgery. Age, physical status, pulmonary function, comorbidities, stage, and perioperative complications did not differ between the groups. Pathological tumor size was greater in the open than VATS and robotic groups (P=0.025). Duration of surgery was 150, 191 and 116 minutes, by robotic, VATS and open approaches, respectively (P<0.001). Significantly more lymph node stations were removed (P<0.001), and median length of stay was shorter (4, 5 and 6 days, respectively; P<0.001) in the robotic than VATS and open groups. Estimated costs were 82%, 68% and 69%, respectively, of the regional health service reimbursement for robotic, VATS and open approaches.</p> <p>Discussion:</p> <p>Robotic surgery for early lung cancer was associated with shorter stay and more extensive lymph node dissection than VATS and open surgery. Duration of surgery was shorter for robotic than VATS. Although the cost of robotic thoracic surgery is high, the hospital makes a profit.</p>
EAV: EEG-Audio-Video Dataset for Emotion Recognition in Conversational Contexts
<p>Understanding emotional states is pivotal for the development of next-generation human-machine interfaces. Human behaviors in social interactions have resulted in psycho-physiological processes influenced by perceptual inputs. Therefore, efforts to comprehend brain functions and human behavior could potentially catalyze the development of AI models with human-like attributes. In this study, we introduce a multimodal emotion dataset comprising data from 30-channel electroencephalography (EEG), audio, and video recordings from 42 participants. Each participant engaged in a cue-based conversation scenario, eliciting five distinct emotions: neutral, anger, happiness, sadness, and calmness. Throughout the experiment, each participant contributed 200 interactions, which encompassed both listening and speaking. This resulted in a cumulative total of 8,400 interactions across all participants. We evaluated the baseline performance of emotion recognition for each modality using established deep neural network (DNN) methods. The Emotion in EEG-Audio-Visual (EAV) dataset represents the first public dataset to incorporate three primary modalities for emotion recognition within a conversational context. We anticipate that this dataset will make significant contributions to the modeling of the human emotional process, encompassing both fundamental neuroscience and machine learning viewpoints.</p>

<p>This record contains raw data related to article “Feasibility and safety of a new dedicated biliary stent for EUS-guided hepaticogastrostomy: The FIT study (with video)"</p> <p>Abstract</p> <p><strong>Background and objectives: </strong> EUS-guided biliary drainage (BD) through hepaticogastrostomy (HGS) is an option in case of ERCP failure. Available data suggest that this procedure may be challenging with possible severe adverse events (AEs) mainly due to stent migration. The aim of our pilot study was to prospectively assess the technical and clinical outcomes of EUS-HGS using a new dedicated partially covered self-expandable metal stent with anti-migratory systems.</p> <p><strong>Methods: </strong> This is a single-center prospective study enrolling patients with malignant biliary obstruction undergoing EUS-HGS after failed ERCP, between June 2020 and March 2021. The primary endpoint was the technical success rate. Evaluation of specific stent-related technical features as compared with commonly used self-expandable metal stent, clinical success rate, and procedure-related AEs was also assessed.</p> <p><strong>Results: </strong> Twenty-two patients (15%-68.2%, female; mean age, 66.0 ± 10.0) were enrolled in the study analysis. Different causes of ERCP failure were infiltration of papilla by neoplastic tissue (4, 18.2%), unreachable papilla for duodenal stricture (9, 40.9%), surgically altered anatomy with Roux-en-Y reconstruction (4, 18.2%), and incomplete BD after transpapillary stent placement (5, 22.7%). Technical success was achieved in all patients, in a mean procedural time of 43.3 ± 26.8 min. Technical features were graded as high or medium in all cases. The clinical success rate was 91% (20/22, mean follow-up: 10.8 ± 3.1 months). There were no cases of stent misplacement or stent migration. Three (13.6%) cases of a hepatic abscess requiring percutaneous drainage and systemic antibiotics were reported, with no impact on clinical success and following oncologic treatments. No deaths occurred.</p> <p><strong>Conclusion: </strong> EUS-HGS with a new dedicated stent with anti-migratory systems is feasible and effective, preventing stent migration, and misplacement. Although the persistent procedural challenges, dedicated devices may contribute to outcomes improvement and procedure diffusion</p>

<p>This record contains raw data related to article "EUS-guided gastroenterostomy using a novel electrocautery lumen apposing metal stent for treatment of gastric outlet obstruction (with video)"</p><p>Abstract</p><p><strong>Background and aim: </strong>Endoscopic ultrasound-guided gastroenterostomy (EUS-GE) for the treatment of gastric outlet obstruction (GOO) has been actually performed only with one type of electrocautery lumen-apposing metal stents (EC-LAMS). We aimed to evaluate the safety, technical and clinical effectiveness of EUS-GE using a newly available EC-LAMS in patients with malignant and benign GOO.</p><p><strong>Materials and methods: </strong>Consecutive patients who underwent EUS-GE for GOO using the new EC-LAMS at five endoscopic referral centers were retrospectively evaluated. Clinical efficacy was determined utilizing the Gastric Outlet Obstruction Scoring System (GOOSS).</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Twenty-five patients (64% male, mean age 68.7 ± 9.3 years) met the inclusion criteria; 21 (84%) had malignant etiology. Technically, EUS-GE was successful in all patients, with a mean procedural time of 35 ± 5 min. Clinical success was 68% at 7 days and 100% at 30 days. The mean time to resume oral diet was 11.4 ± 5.8 h, with an improvement of at least one point of GOOSS score observed in all patients. The median hospital stay was 4 days. No procedure-related adverse events occurred. After a mean follow-up of 7.6 months (95% CI 4.6-9.2), no stent dysfunctions were observed.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>This study suggests EUS-GE can be performed safely and successfully using the new EC-LAMS. Future large multicenter prospective studies are needed to confirm our preliminary data.</p>

<p>This dataset builds on the <a href="https://zenodo.org/deposit/6901792">Everyday Conversation Videos Dataset</a> and includes augmented variants of those videos. The 160 videos in this dataset all depict about a minute long everyday conversations. For these, four different actors (A1-A4) acted out a set of eight scenarios (S1-S8) Here, the videos have been cropped, trimmed, and standardized to 720p at 30fps. We then added Snapchat filters to the videos by routing them through Snap Camera.
