Data and code for: Social phenotype-dependent selection of social environment in wild great and blue tits: An experimental study

<p>There is growing evidence that individuals actively assess the match between their phenotype and their environment when making habitat choice decisions (so-called matching habitat choice). However, to our knowledge, no studies have considered how the social environment may interact with social phenotype in determining habitat choice, despite habitat choice being an inherently social process and growing evidence for individual variation in sociability. We conducted an experiment using wild great and blue tits to understand how birds integrate their social phenotype and social environment when choosing where and how to feed. We used programmable feeders to (i) record social interactions and estimate social phenotype and (ii) experimentally manipulate the local density experienced by birds of differing social phenotype. By tracking feeder usage, we estimated how social environment and social phenotype predicted feeder choice and feeding behaviour. Both social environment and social phenotype predicted feeder usage, but a bird's decision to remain in a particular social environment did not depend on their social phenotype. In contrast, for feeding behaviour, responses to the social environment depended on social phenotype. Our results provide rare evidence of matching habitat choice and shed light on the dependence of habitat choice on between-individual differences in social phenotype.</p>

Datasets on experimental lab studies on visions and energy citizenship (Task 4.3)

<p>We conducted two further experiments about visions and the transition to a sustainable and just energy system (one in January 2024, one in April 2024). In addition to replication, we tested possible moderating variables and new explanatory approaches for the effect of such visions. The experiments belong to Task 4.3.<br><br>Not all measures are included in these datasets to ensure anonymity. More extensive versions of these datasets (e.g. including open answers and socio-demographics) are available upon request.</p>

A QUASI-EXPERIMENTAL STUDY TO IMPROVE DIABETIC CONTROL FOR THE UNDERSERVED POPULATION THROUGH EDUCATION AND SCREENINGS

<p>Diabetes is a growing epidemic in the underserved population. Type 2 diabetes is one of the largest health concerns affecting Americans. Over 37 million Americans are diagnosed with diabetes and over 7 million are undiagnosed. One out of three Americans have prediabetes, but only 12% are aware of this condition.1 Diabetes can lead to serious health conditions including cardiac, renal, retinal and vascular conditions. A step towards controlling diabetes is performing an HbA1C test, but many people are not adequately screened or educated on the risk of diabetes. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recognizes a HbA1c as an evidence-based tool used in monitoring diabetes and diabetic determination.</p> <p>More than 28 million Americans are considered underserved with approximately 9% of Americans are classified as diabetics.1 Only 68% of this population are considered compliant with their diabetic treatment.9 The lack of diabetic control is caused by the inability to seek healthcare and a lack of diabetic supplies, screenings and treatment.7 The ADA determined that the underserved population suffering with diabetes is impacted 48 times more than any other population.</p>
