Automated and manual segmentation of the hippocampus in human infants

The hippocampus, critical for learning and memory, undergoes substantial changes early in life. Investigating the developmental trajectory of hippocampal structure and function requires an accurate method for segmenting this region from anatomical MRI scans. Although manual segmentation is regarded as the "gold standard" approach, it is laborious and subjective. This has fueled the pursuit of automated segmentation methods in adults. However, little is known about the reliability of these automated protocols in infants, particularly when anatomical scan quality is degraded by head motion or the use of shorter and quieter infant-friendly sequences. During a task-based fMRI protocol, we collected quiet T1-weighted anatomical scans from 42 sessions with awake infants aged 4–23 months. Two expert tracers first segmented the hippocampus in both hemispheres manually. The resulting inter-rater reliability (IRR) was only moderate, reflecting the difficulty of infant segmentation. We then used four protocols to predict these manual segmentations: average adult template, average infanBt template, FreeSurfer software, and Automated Segmentation of Hippocampal Subfields (ASHS) software. ASHS generated the most reliable hippocampal segmentations in infants, exceeding the manual IRR of experts. Automated methods thus provide robust hippocampal segmentations of noisy T1-weighted infant scans, opening new possibilities for interrogating early hippocampal development.

IceAq - groundwater data, monthly manual data

Groundwater level, temperature, and sometimes electro-conductivity (EC) in two aquifers- Monthly manual data, 18 boreholes and 10 springs

Map localising the 18 boreholes and 10 springs (2 textfiles, 6Ko): 14 boreholes selected among the abandoned ones, and 4 new ones drilled downstream of Fláajökull, on a line toward the coast (FLA1, FLA2, FLA3, FLA4). The network thus constitutes of 13 boreholes in the basalt formation and 5 in the till and glacio-fluvial formation. In addition, we monitored 10 depression springs, 4 from the basalt aquifer and 7 from the till and glacio-fluvial deposits aquifer. All boreholes and springs were localised using a differential GPS in September 2021.

1 spreadsheet with 6 sheets, 40 ko: Monthly measurements 5 to 7 times a year of the groundwater level, water temperature and water EC with a manual piezometric probe (Solinst TLC Meter 107). The springs are controlled visually, and their temperature and EC monitored with the TLC Meter. A participatory approach involving Glacier Adventure, a tourism and educational company based in Hali, allows the monthly monitoring of 3 of the boreholes in the basalt aquifer all year round with an Hydrotechnik Water level meter.

Origin: MSCA Project Number: 885891 Project Acronym: IceAq

Project title: Proglacial and subglacial aquifers: their evolution under climate change and the potential impacts in terms of resources and natural hazards, through the case of eastern Iceland

Period of data collection: from May 2021 to September 2022.

Area of data collection: Iceland, south-east of Vatnajökull, Suðursveit and Mýrar.

Accessibility: The data can be read using e.g. the following open source softwares: LibreOffice (https://www.libreoffice.org), QGIS (https://qgis.org).

GREMLIN CONUS1 Manually Selected Storms Dataset

The CONUS1 dataset is a "toy" dataset that is small enough to be able to train a convolutional neural network on a laptop computer to do image translation from geostationary satellite images to ground-based radar images. It provides three input channels from GOES-16 ABI, one input channel from GOES-16 GLM, and one output channel from MRMS.

Manually Annotated Event Log of Users Prompts in LLMs for Conceptual Modeling

This repository contains the supplementary material for our paper at ER 2024 Conference.

The data contains the results of an empirical study with 76 undergraduate information systems students. The students submitted the course assignments in 39 groups (of one or two students). The assignment used for the study required use case modeling with UML use case diagrams and domain modeling with UML class diagrams. The groups were first expected to interact with an LLM and then, if needed, to manually improve their models. Groups were randomly assigned to interact with either GPT 4.0 or Code Llama 34B Instruct in one of three application domains.

The participants were instructed to engage with the LLM until they were satisfied with the results or opted to skip further refinement. The interaction log contains the following fields: User ID, Input (the user prompt), Response (the modeling artifacts), and the Prompt Number (within user ID).
