The maps on the left were produced using 50% of the relocations, while the maps on right were produced using 80% of the relocations. These two territory sizes (50% and 80%) help picturing the possible wandering surfaces that may have been used by the tracked individuals. Their actual home ranges were probably between these two representations. Note that female F4 had an additional wandering area outside the presented map (indicated by the arrow on the bottom of the top-right image), when 80% of the relocations were included.

Appendix 1 Secondary transects (red lines) placed in late October to early November of 2017, after the radiotracking event. These transects were set up in areas to which harvest mice appeared to migrate to. Nest-searching was also done (grey areas). The aim was to know if other individuals were present or not in these areas.

In the first 5 CMR days, the 71 traps were open 4 h in the evening during the dusk, and 4 hours in the morning during the dawn. The 8 following days (from day 6 to day 14), the traps were open 4 h during the day and 4 h at dusk. The population estimate levelled at 12 individuals, which corresponds to the total number of marked individuals captured during the 14 trapping days.

How does forest conversion and fragmentation affect ant communities and the ecosystem processes that they mediate?

Boyle<br>Data collected on SAFE sites in Benta and at Maliau between 29/06/2012 to 14/12/2011<br>Abundances are observations of numbers of ants entering a 12 cm by 14 cm plastic card, laid flat in the leaf litter, baited with 30 compressed dried earthworm pellets of a range of sizes over a 40 minute period<br>Collections were made from two of each of the triplets of first order sampling points. All triplets were visited, with the exception of the oil palm, logged forest and primary forest controls, where 2/3 of the triplets were visited.<br>Species were identified from vouchers, and vouchers were not collected for all species at all sites, hence the unidentified species (these can be used to calculate total ant abundance and species richness at a bait card, but not total species richness or anything involving trophic levels or sizes). 98% of ant individuals observed and 93% of ant occurrences had an associated voucher collected<br><br>There are six files that together contain all the ant bait removal data: ""ant attendance"", ""ant attendance summary"", ""bait locations"", ""bait removals"", ""ant IDs"" and ""morphospecies""<br><br>For ""ant attendence""<br>""Site"" refers to SAFE sampling site location<br>""Species"" refers to the ant species number within that site (ranges from 1 up to 2 or 3, occasionally more)<br>""Time.Period"" refers to the start time of the five minute period for which ant attendance at the bait was recorded.<br>""Abundance"" refers to the abundance within that five minute period.<br>Note that only non-zero abundances are recorded. Importance of riparian reserves and other forest fragments for small mammal diversity in disturbed and converted forest landscapes
<b>Description: </b><p>The primary objective of this study was to document the species richness, community composition of the small mammals in riparian remnants within oil palm plantation and in degraded forests. The purpose is to assess the value of retaining riparian remnants within oil palm plantation and logged forest habitats for small mammals conservation. <br>Main questions <br>1. Is there a difference in species richness and community composition of small mammals in riparian remnants within oil palm and logged forests? <br>2. What effects do maintaining riparian remnants in oil palm and logged forests have on small mammal diversity? <br>3. Does the structure and width of riparian remnants in oil palm and logged forests affect small mammal species diversity? <br>4. How does the structure of riparian reserves could be managed to improve the extent to which they retain small mammals communities in oil palm and logged forests?<br>Methods<br>Sampling will be conducted at several sites representing four habitat treatments: (1) riparian reserves in old growth forests as control treatment (at Maliau Basin Conservation Area); (2) riparian reserves of different widths in logged forests (SAFE project area); (3) riparian remnants of different widths in oil palm (south of SAFE project area); and (4) oil palm without any riparian remnants (south of SAFE project area). In addition, sampling was conducted in other forest remnants within oil palm habitats. Each habitat treatment will be represented by three sites serving as replicates. <br>Used a grid trapping of 4 x 12 grid points (23m spacing) for sampling the small mammals. We shall establish one grid at each site with 48 trap stations. Two wire-mesh cage traps (28 x 15 x 12.5 cm), baited with oil palm fruits, will be placed at each station. Trapping of small mammals and searchers for amphibians will be conducted in four sampling sessions. In each session we will visit randomly four sites representing the four habitat treatments. Each sampling session at each site will last for four months. Overall, each habitat treatment will be sampled three times over a 12 months period. Data from: Functional traits determine why species belong to the dark diversity in a dry grassland fragmented landscape
<p><a name="_Hlk41300148"></a><a name="_Hlk41299586">A challenge for nature conservation is to know why many species are absent from suitable habitats and whether they might be able to disperse and to establish.</a> Here, we used 272 dry grassland patches within a fragmented landscape to investigate the role of local abiotic conditions and dispersal filtering in determining the likelihood of vascular plants to belong to the dark diversity (i.e. absent portion of the species pool). First, we quantified the species (SD), functional (FD) and phylogenetic (PD) diversity of both observed and dark communities. Second, we determined the roles of abiotic, present-day and historical landscape configuration variables in shaping their patterns. Third, we evaluated the importance of each variable in determining their species compositions. <a name="_Hlk30755847">Environmental filtering was assessed as effects of local abiotic conditions and dispersal filtering as the effects of present-day and historical landscape configuration. </a>Dispersal filtering was also estimated by comparing dispersal traits of observed and dark diversity. Finally, we assessed community completeness to determine how much of the species pool was realized within a local community. We found higher SD in the observed compared to the dark communities, but PD did not differ. Contrary to expectations, dark communities resembled higher FD compared to the observed communities. Species with low dispersal capacity, low competitive abilities and high stress-tolerance were more often absent. Observed and dark diversities were mostly affected by local abiotic variables. In the observed communities, present-day landscape configuration variables affected SD while historical landscape configuration variables explained FD and PD. In the dark communities, we found the opposite pattern. Completeness was affected by present-day and historical patch size. Our results explain why dry grassland species may belong to the dark diversity and highlight the importance of local abiotic and dispersal traits of the species to conserve dry grasslands in changing landscapes.</p>

Dataset associated with the manuscript titled "Capturing non-local through-bond effects when fragmenting molecules for quantum chemical torsion scans"
<p>The dataset is a part of the supporting information of the <a href="https://chayast.github.io/frag-manuscript/#fragmentation-schemes-can-be-assessed-by-their-ability-to-preserve-the-chemical-environment-while-minimizing-fragment-size">fragmenter manuscript</a>, which also describes how this dataset was generated in more detail.</p> <p>This dataset includes all fragments generated from 730 FDA approved molecule without fragmenting rings.</p> <p>Scripts used to generate this set live <a href="https://github.com/choderalab/fragmenter_data/tree/master/combinatorial_fragmentation">here</a>.</p> <p>1.
