Assisting the appraisal of e-mail records with automatic classification
<p>This spreadsheet shows the results of training a series of Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifiers to replicate the decision process for identifying e-mails of business value from among 846 e-mails in two corporate mailboxes. One set of SVMs were trained on emails without including the text of attachments and with the inclusion of attachments. For the sake of comparison, these SVMs were also trained on Spam / Ham and on a randomly selected subset of Enron emails half of which were arbitrarily tagged as "business value".</p>

NaOH-assisted hydrothermal reduction of graphene oxide
<p><span>The influence of the pH of the reaction medium on the structural characteristics of hydrothermally reduced graphene oxide, synthesized by the Tour method, has been investigated. Varying the pH of the reaction medium within the range of 8.0, 10.0 and 12.0 (adjusted with NaOH) has revealed distinct effects on the morphology and properties of the resulting reduced graphene oxide. At a pH of 8.0 the hydrothermal treatment yielded reduced graphene oxide comprising of two particle fractions with a thickness equivalent to 4-5 graphitic layers each. In contrast, pH of 10.0 resulted in two particle fractions corresponding to 2–3 and 4 layers, respectively, while pH of 12.0 produced a single fraction with a particle thickness of 0.70 nm, encompassing 3 graphitic layers. Increasing the pH led to a decrease in the average lateral size of reduced graphene oxide particles to about 8 nm. All rGOs had micro- and mesopores with a specific surface area up to 226 m<sup>2</sup>/g, showing a proportional increase in mesopores with increasing pH. Analysis of slit-like micropores revealed a minimum fractal dimension (<em>D</em> = 2.18) at pH = 8.0. The obtained results provide valuable insights into tailoring the structural properties of hydrothermally reduced graphene oxide by controlling the pH of the reaction medium, offering potential applications in various fields, including nanotechnology and materials science.</span></p>
Bilateral Stand-alone Robotic Motion-Assisted Finger Exoskeleton for Home Rehabilitation
<p><span>This presents a novel exoskeleton robot which can be used at home for rehabilitating the index fingers of stroke-affected patients. This exoskeleton is designed as a one degree-of-freedom four bar mechanism able to guide the human index finger motion. The proposed device is the only lateral, stand-alone mechanism built till date which can carry the weight of the human hand, thus making the user free from wearing it. The design starts by tracing the trajectory of the index finger using ‘Angulus’ software. ‘SALAR’ software is used for dimensional synthesis of four bar mechanism. Using additive manufacturing technology, a prototype of the proposed device is developed. Static force analysis is done to select the most appropriate actuator for producing the required torque to manipulate the fingers effectively. The kinematics of the index finger while performing finger curl exercise is obtained. The proposed linkage mechanism can drive the index fingers of both the hands. Simulation and experimental results proved feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed design to be used for index finger rehabilitation for a wide range of users and applications by making simple minor alterations in the design. Also, the device can be used for rehabilitating the middle fingers together with the index fingers.</span></p>

This is the data associated with Fig. 8(a) in the paper.</p> <p>c. <strong>top_and_bottom_layers_comparison_microscale.csv</strong>: The data in this file is presented to emphasize the role of creating finite element meshes of different densities. This file only presents the information about the geometrical dimensions and 3D mesh elements. This file specifically compares the number of mesh elements between the top gold layer and bottom titanium layer. The gold layer (2 micrometers in height) is 25 times thinner than the titanium layer (50 micrometers). However, the number of 3D volume elements in the titanium layer is only 2.19 times more than that of gold layer. So, the upper Au layer has relatively fine meshing and lower Ti layer has relatively coarse meshing. </p> <p> <br>d. <strong>radial_distance_irradiance_intensity_data.csv</strong>: The data is related to laser related aspects in the finite element analysis. This file consists of the data showing the distribution of irradiance (W/m^2) with the radial distance (r) from the center of the beam spot for a flat top heat source described with the expression I = \frac{P}{3.14*r0^2} U*|r0-r| . In this work, laser power = 100.0 W and beam spot radius (r0) = 122.5 micrometers. Deciphering Ball Milling Mechanochemistry via Molecular Simulations of Collision‐Driven and Liquid‐Assisted Reactivity
<p>The direct study of mechanical activation events in ball milling mechanochemistry is, at present, not directly accessible experimentally, which prompted us to examine it by theoretical modelling. We use molecular dynamics simulations to describe mechanical activation by fragmentation of crystal particles down to individual atoms, ions and ion pairs, and monitor subsequent product formation and agglomeration under neat and liquid-assisted conditions. We demonstrate that a small amount of the liquid additive facilitated product formation, while too much of it destabilised the product by stabilising the reactants. Our approach provides a fresh and detailed view of mechanochemistry that could allow for its theoretical optimisation including the targeted choice of a catalyst and its loading. </p>

Perception of Mixed-Reality Shopping Assistant System to develop Design Principles : Interview Transcripts (MRDP)
<p>The dataset is a collection of transcripts where 35 participants were interviewed to collect users’’ feedback and perceptions about the mixed-reality MR shopping assistant system. The interviews were a part of the research where a personal shopping assistance system based on optical see-through mixed-reality (MR ) technology was designed. Microsoft HoloLens 2 was leveraged as the archetype to realize this novel system to facilitating consumer information search and decision making. The design incorporated various shopping assistance elements (i.e., product information, reviews, recommendations, product availability, videos, a virtual cart, and an option to buy). Users can interact with these elements with gesture-based inputs to navigate through the interface.</p> <p>Derived from the qualitative feedback from the 35 participants, we proposed six design principles that aim to support future designs and developments of mixed-reality MR shopping applications for head-mounted displays in omnichannel retail: Rigor, Informativeness, Tangibility, Summary, Comparability and Holism. </p> <p> </p>

<p>Archived LA-ICP-MS and EBSD data files for the Bernard et al. manuscript entitled, "Melt-assisted deformation in the lower crust of an active plate boundary, Baja California" (LITHOS, accepted 2022). EBSD data were acquired on an Oxford Instruments Symmetry EBSD detector on a FEI Apreo LoVac field emission gun scanning electron microscope at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) using a working distance between 26 to 28 mm and voltage of 20 kV. Trace elements were collected from polished thin sections using a Thermo Fisher Scientific iCAP Qc Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) with New Wave Research UP213 Laser Ablation system at UCSD. </p>
A case report on intensive, robot-assisted rehabilitation program for brainstem radionecrosis
<p>Radiotherapy is a valid treatment option for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. However, complications can occur following irradiation of the closest anatomical structures, including brainstem radionecrosis (BRN). The rehabilitation is poorly described in patients with BRN, despite its usefulness in improving functional independence in patients with brain tumors. We aimed at testing the usefulness of intensive, robot-assisted neurorehabilitation program to improve functional independence in a 57-year-old male with BRN.</p> <p>Patient concerns: </p> <p>A 57-year-old male diagnosed with a nasopharyngeal carcinoma, received a radiation total dose of 72 Gy. Owing to the appearance of a severe symptomatology characterized by dysphagia, hearing loss, and left sided hemiparesis, the patient was hospitalized to be provided with intensive pharmacological and neurorehabilitation treatment.</p> <p>Diagnosis: </p> <p>Follow-up brain magnetic resonance imaging disclosed no residual cancer, but some brainstem lesions compatible with BRN areas were appreciable.</p> <p>Intervention: </p> <p>The patient underwent a 2-month conventional, respiratory, and speech therapy. Given that the patient only mildly improved, he was provided with intensive robot-aided upper limb and gait training and virtual reality-based cognitive rehabilitation for other 2 months.</p> <p>Outcomes: </p> <p>The patient reported a significant improvement in functional independence, spasticity, cognitive impairment degree, and balance.</p> <p>Conclusion: </p> <p>Our case suggests the usefulness of neurorobotic intensive rehabilitation in BRN to reduce functional disability. Future studies should investigate whether an earlier, even multidisciplinary rehabilitative treatment could lead to better functional outcome in patients with BRN.</p>
