<p>The data and code provided are utilized to support the conclusions of "Greenhouse gas budgets of Central and West Asia (2000-2020): A significant net source to the atmosphere." The dataset comprises the processed ensemble mean values at both national and regional scales. Please note that in the dataset, "TD_total" represents the inversion fluxes for each GHG, "NBP" represents the NBP fluxes from TRENDY, "Wetland_ch4" represents the wetland CH4 emission estimates from Terrestrial Biosphere Models in the Global Methane Budget, and "Soil_n2o" represents the soil N2O emissions as estimated by NMIP2 models. More detailed information about the meaning and data sources of each sector and subsector can be found in the Methods section of the manuscript and in Supplementary Information S1.</p>

Velocity, density and energy budget statistics from the article: Validation and application of the lattice Boltzmann algorithm for a turbulent immiscible Rayleigh-Taylor system

<p>We develop a multicomponent lattice Boltzmann (LB) model for the 2D Rayleigh--Taylor turbulence with a Shan-Chen pseudopotential implemented on GPUs. Accuracy of the LB model is tested both for early and late stages of instability. For the developed turbulent motion we analyze the balance between different terms describing variations of the kinetic and potential energies. Then, we analyze the role of interface in the energy balance, and also the effects of the vorticity induced by the interface in the energy dissipation. Statistical properties are compared for miscible and immiscible flows.</p> <p>In this Dataset, we have included the files for the statistics of the energy budget for the miscible and immiscible Rayleigh-Taylor flows studied in the referred article.</p> <p>We also included the examples of the density and velocity fields showed in the Figures 1 and 2 of the article.</p>

Global Sea Level Budget Assessment by World Climate Research Programme

<p>Global mean sea level is an integral of changes occurring in the climate system in response to unforced climate variability as well as natural and anthropogenic forcing factors. Its temporal evolution allows detecting changes (e.g., acceleration) in one or more components. Study of the sea level budget provides constraints on missing or poorly known contributions, such as the unsurveyed deep ocean or the still uncertain land water component. In the context of the World Climate Research Programme Grand Challenge entitled &ldquo;Regional Sea Level and Coastal Impacts&rdquo;, an international effort involving the sea level community worldwide has been recently initiated with the objective of assessing the various data sets used to estimate components of the sea level budget during the altimetry era (1993 to present). These data sets are based on the combination of a broad range of space-based and in situ observations, model estimates and algorithms. Evaluating their quality, quantifying uncertainties and identifying sources of discrepancies between component estimates is extremely useful for various applications in climate research. This effort involves several tens of scientists from about sixty research teams/institutions worldwide (www.wcrp-climate.org/grand-challenges/gc-sea-level). The results presented in this paper are a synthesis of the first assessment performed during 2017-2018. We present estimates of the altimetry-based global mean sea level (average rate of 3.1 +/- 0.3 mm/yr and acceleration of 0.1 mm/yr2 over 1993-present), as well as of the different components of the sea level budget. We further examine closure of the sea level budget, comparing the observed global mean sea level with the sum of components. Ocean thermal expansion, glaciers, Greenland and Antarctica contribute by 42%, 21%, 15% and 8% to the global mean sea level over the 1993-present. We also study the sea level budget over 2005-present, using GRACE-based ocean mass estimates instead of sum of individual mass components. Results show closure of the sea level budget within 0.3 mm/yr. Substantial uncertainty remains for the land water storage component, as shown in examining individual mass contributions to sea level.</p>

Understanding and mitigating resistive losses in fired passivating contacts: role of the interfaces and optimization of the thermal budget

<p>We study p-type passivating contacts based on SiCx formed via a rapid thermal processing step, using conditions compatible with the firing used to sinter screen-printed metallization pastes in industry. Firstly, we separate the contributions of the two interfaces to the contact resistivity (wafer/contact and contact/metal), identifying tunnelling at the wafer interface as the main contribution. We then investigate the dependence of contact resistivity and sheet resistance of the SiCx layer on the concentration of active dopants and we propose strategies to reduce both resistances by increasing the thermal budget applied during firing. Lastly, we discuss potentials and limitations of implementing the investigated stacks as rear side contacts of p-type devices with localized metallization, and we show that an oxide layer that can withstand high thermal budgets is the key factor for obtaining high passivation quality and good electrical properties at the same time. The results obtained with an oxide based on N2O plasma oxidation show that this layer is a promising candidate for such an application.</p>
