See references below for the original sources.</li> <li>Folder data_raw/ contain exports from the flood marks database. See references below for the original sources.</li> <li>funk.R is a library of functions used by other scripts.</li> <li>0_setUp.R prepares the runs to estimate the model for one component. Estimation is performed using the RSTooDs package (<a href="https://zenodo.org/record/5075760">https://zenodo.org/record/5075760</a>). This script extracts the data, specifies the probabilitic models and write STooDs configuration files.</li> <li>1_margin.R analyses the runs that have been performed and estimates marginal distributions at each station. Note that the runs set up in the previous point need to have been performed before using this script.</li> <li>2_probMap.R computes estimated flood probabilities over the whole 1705-2015 period. The previous script needs to have been run before.</li> <li>3_sensitivityAnalysis.R prepares configuration files for sensitivity analysis experiments.</li> <li>4_ZenodoRelease.R prepares the released data and probability maps. Monthly gridded Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) from Noah-v3.3 land hydrology model for GRACE and GRACE-FO over nominal months

The total land water storage anomalies are aggregated from the Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) NOAH model. GLDAS outputs land water content by using numerous land surface models and data assimilation. For more information on the GLDAS project and model outputs please visit https://ldas.gsfc.nasa.gov/gldas. The aggregated land water anomalies (sum of soil moisture, snow, canopy water) provided here can be used for comparison against and evaluations of the observations of Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) and GRACE-FO over land. The monthly anomalies are computed over the same days during each month as GRACE and GRACE-FO data, and are provided on monthly 1 degree lat/lon grids in NetCDF format. Currently, the days included in these monthly anomaly computation are same as GRACE-FO monthly Level-2 RL06.3 JPL solutions.

Data from: A web platform for landuse, climate, demography, hydrology and beach erosion in the Black Sea catchment

The Black Sea catchment (BSC) is facing important demographic, climatic and landuse changes that may increase pollution, vulnerability and scarcity of water resources, as well as beach erosion through sea level rise. Limited access to reliable time-series monitoring data from environmental, statistical, and socio-economical sources is a major barrier to policy development and decision-making. To address these issues, a web-based platform was developed to enable discovery and access to key environmental information for the region. This platform covers: landuse, climate, and demographic scenarios; hydrology and related water vulnerability and scarcity; as well as beach erosion. Each data set has been obtained with state-of-the-art modelling tools from available monitoring data using appropriate validation methods. These analyses were conducted using global and regional data sets. The data sets are intended for national to regional assessments, for instance for prioritizing environmental protection projects and investments. Together they form a unique set of information, which lay out future plausible change scenarios for the BSC, both for scientific and policy purposes.

Data from: Hierarchical multi-taxa models inform riparian vs. hydrologic restoration of urban streams in a permeable landscape

The degradation of streams caused by urbanization tends to follow predictable patterns; however, there is a growing appreciation for heterogeneity in stream response to urbanization due to the local geoclimatic context. Furthermore, there is building evidence that streams in mildly sloped, permeable landscapes respond uncharacteristically to urban stress calling for a more nuanced approach to restoration. We evaluated the relative influence of local-scale riparian characteristics and catchment-scale imperviousness on the macroinvertebrate assemblages of streams in the flat, permeable urban landscape of Perth, Western Australia. Using a hierarchical multi-taxa model, we predicted the outcomes of stylized stream restoration strategies to increase the riparian integrity at the local scale or decrease the influences of imperviousness at the catchment scale. In the urban streams of Perth, we show that local-scale riparian restoration can influence the structure of macroinvertebrate assemblages to a greater degree than managing the influences of catchment-scale imperviousness. We also observed an interaction between the effect of riparian integrity and imperviousness such that the effect of increased riparian integrity was enhanced at lower levels of catchment imperviousness. This study represents one of few conducted in flat, permeable landscapes and the first aimed at informing urban stream restoration in Perth, adding to the growing appreciation for heterogeneity of the Urban Stream Syndrome and its importance for urban stream restoration.

Sa&scaron;o Petan.</li> <li>Aggregated hourly hydrological data. Data were generated from the raw data with our script, available in the&nbsp;respository.</li> <li>Network graph of river gauges and distances between them. We hand-wrote the graph edges based on the map due to many factors, such as canals, side streams and the missing information about the direction of the rivers. Distances between gauges were calculated with our script, available in the respository.</li> </ul>
