Relevant papers can be tracked using the provided spreadsheet file (see Paper ID cell).<br>The file(s) are cleaned as much as reasonable and other raw data is removed. This file does not include the matrix tables or codes, which were produced and analysed run-time during the analysis phase. Supplementary material to "Healthcare resource use associated with tumor-induced osteomalacia: a literature review"

<p>Tumor-induced osteomalacia (TIO) is an ultra-rare, paraneoplastic syndrome caused by tumors that secrete fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23). Initial signs and musculoskeletal symptoms can be non-specific and unrecognized, leading to long delays in diagnosis and treatment, which results in severe and progressive disability in patients with TIO. This review aimed to identify published evidence on healthcare resource use in TIO to better understand the burden of the disease. A targeted literature review was conducted to identify publications reporting on disease characteristics and healthcare resource use associated with TIO. In total, 414 publications were included in the review, of which 376 were case reports. From the case reports, data on 621 patients were extracted. These patients had a mean (standard deviation) age of 46.3 (15.8) years; 57.6% were male. The mean time from first symptoms to diagnosis of TIO was 4.6 (4.7) years and, in cases where imaging tests were reported, patients underwent a mean of 4.1 (2.7) procedures. Tumor resection was attempted in 81.0% of patients and successful in 67.0%. The fracture was reported in 49.3% of patients. Results from association analyses demonstrated that a longer time to diagnosis was associated with poorer tumor resection outcomes and a higher probability of tumor recurrence. Unfavorable tumor resection outcomes were associated with greater use of pharmacologic treatment and a greater likelihood of orthopedic surgery. TIO is associated with a substantial healthcare resource burden. Improvements in the diagnostic process could lead to better management of TIO, thereby benefiting patients and reducing that burden.</p>

T1.1 Systematic literature review dataset

<p>This document presents the T1.1 Systematic Literature Review Dataset, which was collected for the VERITY project, on the topic of &lsquo;trust in science&rsquo;, based on a total of <strong>83 articles which provide empirical results</strong> from various scientific disciplines (e.g., social and educational psychology, medicine, science education, science communication).<br>The methodology for the completion of the Systematic Literature Review was based on the <strong>PRISMA protocol</strong>, which provides an evidence-based minimum set of criteria for reporting in systematic reviews and meta-analyses.<br>To identify the most appropriate studies for our research questions, the eligibility of the articles to be included in the systematic literature review was determined by the <strong>following two main criteria</strong>:</p> <ol> <li>Only studies directly examining the correlation and causal relationship of various factors to the levels of public trust in science were considered.</li> <li>The factors correlated and affecting the public&rsquo;s trust in science had to be investigated empirically, without any restrictions on the methodology.&nbsp;</li> </ol> <p>Moreover, to ensure the credibility, integrity, and feasibility of the literature review, three criteria were added: The surveys are based on participants aged at least 16 years old (research based on young children was excluded). The study is written in English.&nbsp; The study appears in a peer-reviewed journal as an article.</p> <p>The review began with a comprehensive search for articles in three electronic databases: <strong>Scopus, Web of Science and PsycInfo</strong>. The selection of Scopus and Web of Science was based on their widely recognized impact indices containing high-calibre scholarly literature published worldwide and across a wide range of scientific fields. PsycInfo was selected as the premier abstracting and indexing database covering the behavioural, social, and psychological sciences. The selected search strategy was based on the two core concepts of our main research question, namely, &lsquo;trust&rsquo; and &lsquo;science&rsquo;.</p> <p>After careful consideration, the following query string was established utilizing Boolean operators (AND, OR):&nbsp;(trust* OR distrust* OR mistrust* ) AND ( scien* ) in TITLE</p>

Literature review on the effect of conspecific density on animal dispersal (2000-2023)

<p>We review empirical studies of animal dispersal in relation to conspecific density to examine the evidence for density-dependent dispersal among taxa and test whether reports of its occurrence are taxon-specific and/or biased by the methodology employed. We conducted a thorough review of the literature (2000 - 2023) and found <em>k</em> = 97 empirical studies of amphibians, birds, fishes, invertebrates, mammals, or reptiles that had tested for a correlation between conspecific density and animal dispersal. From each, we derived the correlation coefficient of the relationship between density and dispersal, which we z-transformed to obtain the effect size, <em>Z</em><em><sub>r</sub></em><em>.</em> We also<em> </em>extracted and compiled information on taxonomic group, sex, age, migratory behavior, experimental setup, dispersal metric, density metric, and variable type, as well as temporal and spatial scale to test their relationships with <em>Z</em><em><sub>r</sub></em> using linear regressions and multilevel mixed-effect modeling.</p>
