Dataset and code for A Multidimensional Error Verification Method for Weather Forecast Based on the Spatial Distribution Structural Similarity of Meteorological Elements
<p>The dataset includes rainfall observations and mesoscale numerical prediction data for 16 July 2019, 13 June 2020 and 2024 rainy season.<br>The code is the algorithm procedure of this paper. Among them, meiyutest.py is the rainfall scoring procedure for the Meiyu period, and 2019case is the forecast scoring and plotting procedure for two individual cases.</p>
Data from: Oscillayers: a dataset for the study of climatic oscillations over Plio-Pleistocene time scales at high spatial-temporal resolution
Motivation: In order to understand how species evolutionarily responded to Plio-Pleistocene climate oscillations (e.g. in terms of speciation, extinction, migration and adaptation), it is first important to have a good understanding of those past climate changes per se. This, however, is currently limited due to the lack of global-scale climatic datasets with high temporal resolution spanning the Plio-Pleistocene. To fill this gap, I here present Oscillayers, a global-scale and region-specific bioclim dataset, facilitating the study of climatic oscillations during the last 5.4 million years at high spatial (2.5 arc-minutes) and temporal (10 kyr time periods) resolution. This data set builds upon interpolated anomalies (Δ layers) between bioclim layers of the present and the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) that are scaled relative to the Plio-Pleistocene global mean temperature curve, derived from benthic stable oxygen isotope ratios, to generate bioclim variables for 539 time periods. Evaluation of the scaled, interpolated estimates of palaeo-climates generated for the Holocene, Last Interglacial and Pliocene showed good agreement with independent General Circulation Models (GCMs) for respective time periods in terms of pattern correlation and absolute differences. Oscillayers thus provides a new tool for studying spatial-temporal patterns of evolutionary and ecological processes at high temporal and spatial resolution. Main types of variable contained: 19 bioclim variables for time periods throughout the Plio-Pleistocene. Input data and R script to recreate all 19 bioclim variables. Spatial location and grain: Global at 2.5 arc-minutes (4.65 x 4.65 = 21.62 km2 at the equator). Time period and grain: The last 5.4 million years. The grain is 10 kyr (= 539 time periods). Level of measurement: Data are for terrestrial climates (excluding Antarctica) taking sea level changes into account. Software format: All data are available as ASCII (ESRI) grid files.

Dataset from: Functional traits explain both seedling and adult plant spatial patterns in gypsum annual species
<p><span>1. </span><span>Ecological processes such as seed dispersal or plant–plant interactions and environmental constraints such as climate or soil heterogeneity are known to influence establishment, and thus the spatial patterns of plant communities and populations. In this study, we hypothesized that key functional traits such as the specific leaf area (SLA), reproductive ratio (reproductive/vegetative biomass), seed mass, and maximum plant height would influence the spatial patterns of individual species in annual, gypsophilous plant communities, and that these effects would be modulated by both the soil surface structure (biocrust) and climate (precipitation) conditions. </span></p> <p><span>2. </span><span>We mapped the spatial patterns of all plants found in six 1 </span><span>x</span><span> 1 m plots (more than 1000 individuals per plot) in both the seedling (autumn) and adult stages (spring) under two biocrust experimental conditions (intact vs disturbed biocrust) during two consecutive years which were contrasted in term of precipitation (dry year and wet year). To assess the spatial patterns of seedlings and adults, we fitted four different spatial point pattern models (i.e., Poisson, inhomogeneous Poisson, Poisson cluster, and inhomogeneous Poisson cluster processes) to each of the 242 populations of the 27 most abundant species that had more than 15 individuals per plot.</span></p> <p><span>3. </span><span>Most seedling populations exhibited clustered spatial patterns that persisted in the adult stage, which suggests that short-distance dispersal is an adaptive trait for soil specialists such as gypsophilous plants. One-third of the populations fitted an inhomogeneous model best, but the physical structure of the biocrust was not related to them. More importantly, we found a connection between the functional strategies of species and the spatial distribution of plants. In particular, during the dry year, irrespective of the biocrust conditions, species with a high SLA and high Rep/Veg mainly exhibited clustered spatial patterns, whereas low SLA and low Rep/Veg were associated with random distributions. Species with heavy and light seed masses had random and clustered patterns, respectively. In both the dry and wet years, species with lower maximum heights had clustered patterns, whereas taller species exhibited random patterns. In addition, species with heavier seeds and greater maximum heights had the largest cluster sizes.</span></p> <p><span>4. </span><span>Our results confirm that the spatial patterns of seedlings and adult plants are significantly determined by the functional strategy of each species.</span></p>
A dataset of measured spatial room impulse responses for the transition between coupled rooms

Four coupled room pairs are included:</p> <ul> <li>Meeting Room to Hallway</li> <li>Office to Anechoic Chamber</li> <li>Office to Kitchen</li> <li>Office to Stairwell</li> </ul> <p>All were recorded at the Aalto University campus using a Genelec 8331A coaxial loudspeaker and an mh acoustics Eigenmike (32 capsule spherical microphone array for fourth order spherical harmonic capture). Each transition features 101 measurements in 5cm intervals from 2.5m inside the first room to 2.5m inside the second room. Transitions are repeated four times corresponding to four different source positions: two inside each room, one which has no continuous line-of-sight with the microphone when in the opposing room, and one which retains a direct continuous line-of-sight with the microphone for all measurement positions. </p> <p>The spatial room impulse responses are downloadable in either Spatially Oriented Format for Acoustics (SOFA) and Wav formats. Supplementary data includes amplitude plots, direct-to-reverberant graphs, estimated direction-of-arrival plots and scaled illustrations of room geometries and source positions. </p> <p>Changelog: </p> <p>V 1.0 - Initial version<br> V 1.1 - Added plots only download option<br> V 1.2 - Improved time alignment of impulse responses and changed normalisation to a single value relative to the maximum of the entire dataset<br> V 1.3 - SOFA files updated to latest Matlab API (1.1.3), 'SingleRoomDRIR' convention, with SourcePosition data corrected.
