Data Set from the DMP survey and interviews - intermediate results

<p>This is the data set for a series of interviews in chemistry on data management (plans) and presents interim results. A more detailed analysis and description can be found in the paper &quot;Road to a Chemistry-specific Data Management Plan&quot; submitted to Data Science Journal (2022-12-15).<br> The interview series will continue in 2023 and final results will be published later in 2023.</p> <p>The aim of the conducted interview series is the enrichment of the online survey data from the RDA WG Discipline-specific Guidance for DMP and in a second step the development of a chemistry-specific data management plan template. For this purpose, the current status of data management as well as information about the workflows in the various chemical disciplines were requested in a personal interview with 22 participants so far.</p> <p>All the gathered information and examples will be used to develop a DMP template or guide in line with chemistry-specific requirements. The results provide a comprehensive outlook on the future developments of RDM in chemistry. Possible strategies for implementation are also discussed.</p>

Stakeholders of the EU ETS - Interviews

<p>The interview were realised in the context of the PLATO project. PLATO investigates the legitimacy of the EU&rsquo;s responses to the financial crisis. It uses the example of the financial crisis to build and test theory of what would amount to a legitimacy crisis in the case of a multi-state, non-state political system such as the EU. PLATO generates new understandings of the EU&rsquo;s legitimacy crisis through multiple, connected case studies undertaken by 15 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><a>Project flyer: https://www.plato.uio.no/plato-itn-flyer.pdf</a>&nbsp;</p> <p>In my PhD project I examine how stakeholders involved in the public debate on the EU&rsquo;s emissions trading scheme (ETS) justify, criticise and legitimise it.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The data is semi-structured interviews with stakeholders. The interviews aim at collecting data on the stakeholders&rsquo; position in the negotiations and on their organization&rsquo;s viewpoints.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Personal information (such as age, gender, professional position or political opinions) were not collected.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The objective of this interview is twofold:&nbsp;</p> <p>- Understanding the ETS negotiations and the stakeholders&rsquo; interests&nbsp;</p> <p>- Identifying the social norms the stakeholders use to justify the ETS and the EU&nbsp;</p> <p>- Identify how stakeholders criticise the ETS&nbsp;</p>

The data relate&nbsp;to a research article&nbsp;<em>Agency and transformative potential of technology in students&rsquo; images of the future: Futures thinking as critical scientific literacy, </em>accepted to be published in Science &amp; Education.</p> <p>As per ethical concerns and participants&#39; consent, the dataset is given in a fully anonymised form. Here, excerpts from&nbsp;students&#39; essays&nbsp;(the context of which is given in the article) are given. The excerpts are the ones&nbsp;that have been used in analysis for the article identified above. Further details will be available in the published article.</p> <p>A number of excerpts are given, originating in&nbsp;57 essays in which upper-secondary&nbsp;students imagine the year 2035 or 2040 and the technological environment in which they would like to live at that time. This overlaps with another dataset (see link above); a&nbsp;numbering scheme was used to group codes for the analysis: type of technology (1), effect of technology (1E), and positive/negative framing (2A). The 1-codes are omitted. While these are unrelated to the article of this analysis, the 2B-2D codes correspond to the categories in the article. Due to some unfortunate redundancies, some excerpts are separated in this version. However, the data should provide transparency for the analysis.</p> <p>The dataset is intended for providing transparency, but it may also be used for further research, in which case some processing is needed.&nbsp;Assistance (clarification)&nbsp;may be available from the authors at reasonable request. DH Lab: Interview Transcripts

<p>The interviews were part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie research project &ldquo;Digital Humanities Laboratory: Studying the Entanglement of Infrastructure and Technology in Knowledge Production&rdquo;. The project received funding from the European Union&rsquo;s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 891155. The goal of the project was to investigate the mechanism of knowledge production in digital humanities and the influence of infrastructure on social and research practices in a laboratory. It aimed to contribute to understanding these complex processes and the development and improvement of digital humanities infrastructure.</p> <p>A set of interviews were conducted with members of King&rsquo;s Digital Lab, management staff and researchers involved in the lab work. Discussions revolved around the institutional, research, and socio-technical infrastructure of King&rsquo;s College London and King&rsquo;s Digital Lab; the social practices of digital projects; the project lifecycle; the use of digital tools in everyday research practices; and the conditions and challenges of conducting research with regards to the lab management, organisation, location, policies, access to resources, and facilities.</p> <p>These files are the transcripts of the interviews that took place in 2021.</p> <p>Research website:&nbsp;<a href="https://dhinfra-org.github.io/">https://dhinfra-org.github.io/</a></p>

<p><strong>&laquo;</strong>Interviews_Couesnon2050&raquo; is a database containing the full transcripts of the 20 interviews used in the article entitled &quot;Do land use and land cover scenarios support more integrated land use management?&rdquo; published in the journal Land. The data was collected between 12 April 2022 and 23 June 2022. The transcripts are given in their original language without translation or critical notes. To anonymize the data, all direct identifiers (names and addresses) have been removed. Indirect identifiers (the combination of variables such as district of residence, age, gender and occupation) have also been removed where the risk of identification was deemed significant (based on personal judgement). Any parts of the script deleted to maintain anonymity are indicated with the sign [...].</p>

<p>This data package contains interview transcripts of interviews that we conducted to understand the domain of ocean modeling with a focus on human interaction, processes and tooling to support our effort to create domain-specific languages to support the work of scientists in this domain.</p> <p>This data package contains the anonymized transcripts of interviews from two phases. The <strong>first phase</strong> was dedicated to collect any theme regarding the domain including processes to develop, maintain and use scientific models (in<br> particular in ocean sciences), as well as, human interaction, technical aspects, and other work environment related themes.</p> <p>The <strong>second phase</strong> focus on the development of biogeochemical models. However, we also included questions regarding the domain.</p>

Interviews transcriptions

<p>This is a full set of transcriptions of all the interviews conducted to complete a research dedicated towards evaluating emotive research content, identifying areas of interest that may have not been the core areas in some of the original research papers, and creating a digital archaeo game or the purpose of testing the extracted theory in terms of emotive triggers in nostalgic and negative emotive archaeological environments. The transcriptions have been handwritten and reviewed several times but may contain some grammatical and spelling mistakes due to some issues with unstable connections during the video and audio recording or due to the inability to understand some of the spoken languages at times. Due to the nature of the research the interviewed subjects have&nbsp; agreed in writing to be named and therefore it contains the real names of the people involved in the experiment.</p> <p>Overall this raw data set has been used to further investigate the area of emotive studies but may in the future be useful for many other applications as there were a wide variety of topics being discussed and the open-ended questions structure made this a very fruitful resource.</p>

Gesundheit und Gesundheitshandlungen wurden dabei aus einer pragmatischen Perspektive als ein Ergebnis von Koordinationsbem&uuml;hungen zwischen Akteuren, Gegenst&auml;nden, Technologien und Machtstrukturen verstanden. In den Analyseschritten der Codierung und Auswertung der Interviews und Dokumente, wurden zur Qualit&auml;tssicherung Memos angelegt. Diese Memos bildeten eine theoretische Grundlage f&uuml;r weitere Auswahlprozesse des Materials. Diese Methode des Theoretical-Samplings wurde zudem durch die Methode des Schneeball-Systems erg&auml;nzt, indem interviewte Personen immer nach weiteren Kontakten befragt wurden und neu genannte Kontakte vor dem Hintergrund des Theoretical-Samplings ausgew&auml;hlt wurden.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>11. "I'm something of an untrained, unofficial cultural anthropologist myself. Ihave a business interviewing people to capture their personal histories. I'm always interested how people fit into their world and how they affect their world. I'm a graphic designer who works in the same building as the printing presses that I recorded. Iwalk past the presses every day on my way to talk to the folks in the prepress department. I'm on friendly but not drinking terms with the pressmen. I'm a friend with the prepress manager. Three Heidelberg presses are installed side by side in an open warehouse-like room. The presses are about twenty feet long and about five feet high. With their series of four humps or mounds where each printing cylinder is located, the presses remind one of giant, gray, mechanical caterpillars. Each press has a cyan cylinder, a magenta cylinder, a yellow cylinder and a black cylinder – so the humps are brightly colored. The presses are well lit by banks of fluorescent lights hanging from the ceiling over each press. When you walk into the press room you hear the sound of rock music blaring from a boom box radio mixed with the general din of the presses. It is only when you walk up to a press like Idid for the recordings that you really start to hear the individual strains of clicking, clacking and mechanical, syncopated chattering. When I made my recordings I was intrigued by the subtle variations in the sounds produced by these machines that aren't apparent when you first walk through the door. The pressmen were kind enough to allow me to walk right up to the presses and poke my microphone quite close to the rotating press cylinders. Iuse a Danish Pro Audio microphone about the size of a pencil eraser. An extremely sensitive mic with the capacity for capturing loud sounds such as the presses up close. <p>Two of three datasets from study where participants engaged in a spoken&nbsp;&#39;dialogue&#39; with a pre-recorded video counsellor asking open questions to promote behaviour change.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>interview length and change talk results.csv</strong> reports duration of dialogue and number of instances of change talk and sustain talk detected by human coders in each participant&#39;s speech. Transcripts of participants&#39; speech are not uploaded because we did not request participants&#39; consent for sharing. When designing the study, we did not know if people would feel comfortable speaking aloud to the computer; we&nbsp;did not want to make them feel more self-conscious by knowing their speech&nbsp;would shared. The data are from 16 of 18 participants; two were excluded for not talking about a goal to increase physical activity, which was a requirement of the study.</p> <p>Version 1.0 contains ratings of the number of instances of change and sustain talk, which required the coder to judge when a complex statement should be scored as containing more than one instance. Version 2.0 was created in response to a reviewer&#39;s suggestion that coders should simply score the presence or absence of change and sustain talk. The new dataset presents the agreed scoring of two independent coders who scored whether change or sustain talk were present in each participant&#39;s response to each question posed by the video-counsellor.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Questionnaire Units of Analysis.docx</strong> contains participants&#39;&nbsp;written responses to an evaluation questionnaire completed one week after the interview. These responses were the raw material for thematic analysis. This dataset contains responses from 18 participants, including participants 7 and 11 who did not talk about&nbsp;a goal of physical activity when interacting with the video-counsellor.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
